In the last monthly patch they added a section under Control options where you can toggle Hold for certain actions.

Got to last 2 people in a Squad FPP earlier today. So fucking tense. I was in a house and the circle was SO KIND to me up to the end. I knew where the last guy was, I was taking shots at him and he and me (I hit him, he missed me) but the circle stablised with the blue closing in in "1 second" for ages. and then it just jumped somewhere else and did a lot of damage and he won because I didn't expect that and couldn't leave the room of the house I was in. I'm 100% sure I could've won that if I knew the circle goes screwy towards the end.
Thanks. I read elsewhere that people generally play this on low settings since you can see other players more easily. Any truth to that?

got to top 4 a few times in singles. always get shot in the back when fighting someone else though. maybe i need to stay closer to the blue line
There are no depths to which blue line huggers will not sink.
My favorite is the rare occasion when I'm stranded near the edge of the blue, I have too long to run, I'm starting the attempt to see if I find a car or survive, and someone starts shooting at me. Like, if they stay shooting at me, they'll die this far out.
And then I kill them and find they have a medkit that heals me up, and pills that heal me up more, and a car that I can drive to safety. All because they wanted to be greedy and get one more kill before heading in.
There's no tutorial or anything, but a quick search can get you caught up pretty quick. If you aren't looking to be #1 or win a lot you should have no problem jumping in and having fun. I am TERRIBLE at this game but it's still thrilling. Great with friends too.

So are Gamescom keys going to be buyable after the events over?
This is important since I'm wondering whether I should buy 10 of them to sell later.
They obviously can't be used to finance the event after the event is over, so it's a weird situation.

I decided to buy the game. I really not to sure what I'm doing, I have only killed like 3 people total. I did manage to get third place on my second try, but I kinda got stuck, and eventually they just tossed a grenade through the window.
Lots of walking overall, I also seem to have the worst luck at finding weapons.

Couldn't use it anything, well at least at least any form of movement. This was a 2 weeks ago. Was a known bug i saw on reddit.

Managed to kill a guy with the VSS at full auto at close range when he had a shotgun, so I'm happy today.
Died at #4 because I forgot how much I loathe the AK's recoil with a burning passion.

I wish. I only noticed them occasionally until last night, and then I was seeing these giant garish pink sprays.

There seems to be something consistently "off" about shotguns in the early game...
I and many streams I have witnessed numerous ocassions where you lay into people without a helmet or armor with a shotty and then die to something lesser.
Is this a known bug or is it just de-sync lag BS?

Also, the AK is objectively worse than nearly ever other AR. The only advantage it has is close range spraying. The little bit of extra damage is not worth the stupid recoil pop and general innacuracy imo.

Probably not what you're looking for, but by default, if you double right click, ADS becomes a hold action.

We don't talk about how that round ended.
At this point I just consider shotguns RNG.
They either can practically snipe you, one shot you, or do nothing. There's really no consistency at all. 1v1 shotgun fights are a nightmare.

I'm hoping they allow for a hold bind in the future, with FPP being my go-to mode now, it's a bit clunky having to ADS with either of those methods.
AK is easily my favorite AR in the game for everything but mid-far range (300+m)
At that range I prefer the M16.
I will take a completely kitted M416 over either if it has every attachment.
But yeah, I love the AK, I'm very used to the kick on it and it's my most consistent gun.

Ever start a game and immediately know it's going to end horribly?
I landed at a random barn outside Pochinki, and the barn had a Kar98 + 8x scope + ammo boxes all in one spot. That's when I knew I was going to die miserably.
I then got a house with good loot and absolutely no one around. I sat in the house forever, eventually saw one guy and killed him after like 8 shots because I never get to practice with an 8x sniper, and then someone came up into my building. And then they ignored my room and went to the roof.
I waited all the way into the blue, finally walked upstairs, and they must have gone AFK because they didn't react to me opening doors and shooting them with a shotgun.
And so I lost due to a very dedicated blue camper, an AFK, or both -- once I looted that person and found they had an ACTUAL 100% healing medkit plus drugs plus a first aid kit, it all still wasn't enough. I went through medkit + first aid kit + 3 or more sets of drugs. Nope, not a vehicle for miles, so I died in the blue at #16.
The very next game I went to the northeast island and managed to beach my boat. I searched every single building on the island, not finding a frag grenade until the final tunnel. By then it was too late, AND the frag grenade wasn't enough to unbeach the boat, adding insult to injury.

Two days after my first purchase, got my first #2 spot. Glory was so close but slipped away as I was a sitting duck in the open, sniped from afar by an invisible enemy.
Somehow, even these few times I manage to get in the last 10 survivors, I never get there with anything resembling decent optics.
...And of course when I get them I die in some stupid way, way before that showdown comes.

It goes both ways, i had a game where i landed onto the mountain eith one other dude and a fist fight ensued, i had music playing from the speakers and for some reasn the bond theme had started and just as i do the explosive jump punch the guy goes down from my punch and the bond theme starts to play in full force. I knew that the game was special from that moment and endes up winning the game, drove around on a motorcycle doing crazy jumps and tricks the whole game.

I have a 4670K (albeit at stock speed currently) with my 1070 and get a constant 60fps (locked) with all settings at their lowest. When I first started playing I got like 40fps with everything at ultra...but that was a couple months ago, so the game might perform better at higher settings now.

...I have pretty much the same system (except the CPU is OC to 4,2 ghz) and I get constant 60 fps minimum even with pretty much every single setting maxed.
I also installed the game on a SSD, but I'm not sure that plays any significant role here.
Well I haven't tried higher settings for a while so maybe the game has been a bit better optimised, unless overclocking has a big difference in this game. I'll give it a try later
It's the only good one tho
They are Team logos and organisation logos for the Gamescom tournament. (There is an ESL logo in there for example)

first time playing 2 weeks ago. never played a pc game before this. it was extremely hard moving from a controller to a mouse and keyboard. aim was well off.
I now have 2 chicken dinners and nearly a positive k/d ratio.
