Lol we're actually getting dedicated SSB version of Goku and Vegeta? Guess I was a 100% wrong then. Was sure there was no way they'd really do that given how those forms add pretty much nothing to Goku or Vegeta in terms of moves or their fighting style.

Judging from the scan (if thats Vegita SSB clash animation) the blue aura will be a constant presence. Its gonna look nice at least.

On one hand, if it's an install it's great and there's no problem.
On the other, if they're actual characters it might waste two spots, though considering it might be low effort to make the characters, maybe it's just there for roster bolstering? Gotta cut corners somewhere I

They chose 16 over 17?! That's...Is 16 even popular? Always thought of him as the Gohan Awakening Machine.
He stands out more than 17 does, only reason I can think of. Well, other than the fact that he's apparently involved in the game's Story Mode... Maybe someone behind the game is a big fan lol
I am still weirded out by people clamoring for the newest super characters to get into this game when the anime is struggling to have an animation budget for them. If arc sys makes up some iconic looking poses for attacks for the female saiyans they would overshadow any of the available source material.
Also it's awesome that 16 is in there. He had a pretty good fight with cell and people should give him more respect for his sacrifice.

Fantastic. KoF14 has a mode like this too (without tagging though of course) and i really enjoyed it.
The only Super characters anyone realistically expects to make it in are Beerus, Hit (chances have improved), and maybe Goku Black.
Are we really getting multiple versions of fucking Goku and Vegeta while genuinely interesting characters are being cut? Jeez...

He is definitely prime DLC content. I bet production for this game started long before 17 became such a big part of the series again.

Hit still got a chance to show off more moves in the anime and it would be a bummer if they missed out on it if they make him too soon. Goku Black has everything one needs for a good fighter, well let's see if 3 Goku's is the limit for this game.

It's not a popularity contest - Android 16 can shoot his hands off as projectiles, 17 can't. Android 16 is a big, grappling character, 17 isn't.
16 provides more that's unique, and unique is what you want for a fighting game.
So stay braced for Dabura, as a second sword wielder, because he's coming.

They might have some unique normals but expect most of the normals to be the same or mostly similar.

there's no other reason we'd get reveals for two alts of the two most popular characters before they finish throwing out all the unique characters in the roster

I don't think there's any hope.
If it was a popularity contest 17 wouldn't have made the base roster - despite Slaythe's enthusiasm 17 wasn't that popular once he disappeared after the Cell saga. Any resurgence in popularity is due to Super's most recent arc, and that is too recent to have influenced ArcSys defining a roster.
He might be a DLC character though. Maybe day one DLC, but I'd expect Caulifla more.
I think 16 and 17 make absolute sense as members of a 3 androids team with 18, who is a given in any case. If 17 doesn't make it, it's a missed opportunity on every level. We miss on an amazing character by himself ,and on a team that would have worked perfectly for whatever SP/story modes they're cooking.
I'm not hating on 16 btw, I like the guy and I think he has the potential to make for a unique ftg char.

I can see this. Would be the super design as well I expect. There's so many character in dbz you could managed a dlc pack for each saga.

I can't believe it, but I would actually be disappointed if 17 doesn't make it. When he was teased to return in Super I was like: "Whatever, who cares about him" and now he is absolutely owning it in Super.

If they're a duo then surely it would be the cell saga outfit. 18 has the two options during that saga but it will the red ribbon outfit most likely.

Yeah this is pretty much exactly how I feel about everything.
Both SSG and SSB Goku play nothing like his Base/Super Saiiyan self.

TBH my Android pick order was always 18 > 16 > 17 just because 18 and 16 lead to a lot more diversity/uniqueness up front BUT now I'm sad about 17 so honestly I'd love all 3!

I would say DLC, but that might be too much work based on Arc's rendering style.
I fucking hate this shit. We already got their classic costumes with their SS versions, the RoF outfits need some representation and SSB was perfect for them. I'm really furious right now.
