One that I just remembered is David Sutcliffe for his behavior when he starred in Cracked. He was upset because he thought his co-star was getting too much screen time, so he had her fired which torpedoed the show.
Here's a question, after reading every page of this thread and feeling kind of dazed: who among the YouTube gamer personalities are like.... completely unabashed good guys?

James Rolfe (AVGN/Cinemassacre).

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
It's not exactly a milkshake duck tweet, but I was reminded today that Tim Allen is an idiot.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
He's great but I sometimes worry that he almost seems unwilling to have an opinion on any social element of video games. I love his stuff and I just want my concerns answered but I remember at the height of gg he never said anything pro or against and silence is to accept the oppression.

Apparently this is from her Twitter before she deleted it:
"TB is an undeniably large creator. Whether you like him or not there's value in looking at his methods of community moderation."
Reminds me of Boogie2988 during the Jontron case
Disappointed in Laura.

I get that sometimes, but I'm willing to believe that he doesn't want to talk about it simply because that's not the focus of his videos. His silence makes him better than A LOT of other gamer personalities on Youtube, sad as that may seem.
Also, Bob Chipman (Moviebob) does a lot of gaming related stuff and he is an outspoken progressive. I find his opinion on games (particularly modern games) to be overly backwards looking (pretty much everything was better back in the Bit eras) and sometimes I think he's just plain out of his depth (He caught some flack on Twitter for confusing Dark Souls with Skyrim and challenging people to name a "good" FPS that's not Half Life), but if you want someone who is assuredly not a milkshake duck, there's another one.

He also made that awful Dark souls 2 critic which people took as gosple. It was really badly thought out compared to his other content.
What a piece of shit. The victims of GG remember it all damn well, but because he wasn't directly impacted by it he feels the right to say "no one remembers". Fuck you, TB.

The implication as well that the people who cared that gg happened and suffered under it are insane.
Remember when he one best gamer or something at the game awards the same year? Man this industry props up some really nasty people
I actually agree with a lot of it but the way he reviews games is very "objective" which i suppose why some people follow it blindly
Voidburger
Chip Cheezum
MrBTounge

Matthewmatosis
Noah Caldwell Gervais
Joseph Anderson
Dan and James (Extra Credits)
Dan Olson (Folding Ideas: does movie stuff as well)
Chris Franklin (Errant Signal)
Ian Danskin (Innuendo Studios)
George Weidman (Superbunnyhop)
YMMV in terms of game opinions, style, format, and content, but I'm subscribed to all of them and they seem on the ball.
I knew Boogie won that type award one year, but TB won as well? If so, then that award is a joke.
Oh, is that gif not parody?I've seen that gif before and thought it was stupid but I didn't know it was about the JonTron fiasco. What the fuck?!? This guy is garbage
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Oh, is that gif not parody?
I assumed that guy was poking fun at people that say "let's meet in the middle!" about ridiculous topics like slavery or racism where there definitely ISN'T a middle ground between right and wrong.
Nope. He was 100% serious asking people to meet in the middle with a white supremacist.
Holy shit, zero empathy nor self-awareness. What a drooling imbecile.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Wait... that thing wasn't sarcasm/parody??Reminds me of Boogie2988 during the Jontron case
Holy shit wow. This guy is legit brain-dead.Nope. He was 100% serious asking people to meet in the middle with a white supremacist.
She's deleted it now but earlier today Laura Kate Dale tweeted that TB had decided to cut all professional and personal ties with her for going along with the apology. Wonder if that changed or she just doesn't want the tweet public anymore.
TB threatened to sue her.
I don't think they're friends any more.

Tbf he's since said they're talking and that he doesn't think they should be friends anymore for her own safety cos of the "toxic" people she surrounds herself with
Which I'm pretty sure is a common abuse tactic

Over Jeff Gerstmann, no less! One of the best persons in the games industry!
Jeff Gerstmann is my reverse milkshake duck. I thought his cynically and wearily funny attitude would mean he'd be a bit more conservative. Turns out he's quite progressive, like when he talked about Battlefield Hardline in relation to police militarisation and Ferguson. Or when he called out Palmer Lucky of Oculus as a racist way before anyone else ("Vice president of memes? Vice president of racism, more like it"). Or how he invites all kinds of guests for E3 podcasts (LGBT, POC) and makes them almost personalities (e.g. Samantha Kalman) in the usually quite white and male gaming sphere.
On Boogie. He's been doing this meet-in-the-middle shtick for a while.
Early on in the height of Gamergate, Boogie was defending them on GAF, but when faced with arguments he'd just talk about how depressed he was over the whole situation and how wanted to kill himself. Since even prior to Gamergate he's talked about how he was overeating as an attempt to kill himself, it was believable. The interpretation I had - and I think some other people shared it - was that Boogie lacked the emotional health to handle the situation, so he did it in an overly naive way.
But after that, he kept in contact with Gamergate people and kept on defending them. So obviously this wasn't so painful that he couldn't involve himself. At that point, I had to wonder if this whole thing wasn't a front to hide that he totally supported them, and he didn't bring up his depression to try to shut down the conversation.
Either way, I don't think it's the standard case of a both side defense. He isn't just a dumb guy just trying to sound smart at any rate.
He also made that awful Dark souls 2 critic which people took as gosple. It was really badly thought out compared to his other content.

As a side note, it's still bizarre to me how people try to rope Jeff being fired into a GG-related ethics thing. In the comments of the post about TB on Kotaku there was even someone talking about how GG happened "not long after" he was fired for a review etc. etc. And uh. That was 7 years, bud.
Anyway, I'd say that Alex (and to some extent Rorie?) were my reverses? I hadn't seen much with them before GG happened but Alex sometimes came across as edgy in a way that made me wary of him and Rorie seemed sorta similar. But Alex speaking up, and Rorie's moderation work, when GG started meant a lot to me and it's abundantly clear by now where Alex stands on things (and he's probably the GB member I identify with the most in a lot of ways), so.

Gaters try to yoke Jeff Gerstman to their cause in a deliberate attempt to muddy the timeline of how the movement started (as a harassment campaign) and imply that they have noble goals in responding to his firing. It's the same reason you'll see Gaters claim that Zoe Quinn was only a minor figure in the controversy who was latched onto by their opposition. Never mind that the whole goddamn thing started as a harassment campaign against her.
I think I am gonna be sick.IIRC, one gator prick tried guilting Jeff onto their side by claiming Ryan would have if he was still alive.
you know I ve always wondered what "side"Jeff also came out publicly against the Muslim ban on Twitter as well. Dude's good people.
