I bought an Xbox One S but I hardly ever use it

We have a BST thread for a reason. Why not go try and flip it there?

If you ever have sellers remorse, remember that the XBO S will likely continue to drop in price when the XBO X comes out. You can always rebuy it when you have a reason to buy one.

I have a beefy PC/a Switch and a PS4 Pro, my Xbox One is useless at gaming standpoint, I'm only using it as 4K/Netflix/media stuff, like almost everyone in the same situation.

Bought mine last year. Only played 1 game on it. Watched few movies and that's it. It's been collecting dust since then.

I have a high-end PC, PS4 and Switch. I see no reason to turn on my Xbox.

Same here bro, I feel ya. I bought one and pretty much never play it because I built a 4K PC a few months later, it just sits there next to my PS4Pro.

Thinking about just trading it to Amazon.

I usually go back and forth between my consoles depending what I want at that time. Haven't touched my PS4 after Uncharted 4, and now all I use is my Xbox for online. I also have a Switch which I use when I don't feel like Vita/3DS.

I'm not familiar with that. Can I get more than $150?

Mine has essentially become my Netflix streaming box and I download all the games with gold but never seem to actually play thwm. I couldn't tell you the last time I played a game on my Xbox.

Question: With the games with gold, can you also play them on Windows?

Not that I currently own a Windows computer that is good for gaming.

My Xbone is also mostly a dust-magnet but I'm totally fine with the purchase. I got it during a crazy Best buy special so I paid like 150 for it and I've gotten a fair amount of use out of it with literally every Halo game, every Gears game, and other BC stuff. Also, Sunset Overdrive is the most underrated game this gen. I'll probably pick up PuBG too.

I'am thinking of trading in my Xbox One to EB Canada for $200, it had some great exclusives for the first few years but with the cancellation of Scalebound and delay of Crackdown 3 I don't see myself playing Xbox One for the rest of the year.

That's a very good price for selling to retail.

OP, to answer your question, yes, I'm also like this. I bought it for GoW, Halo and Sunset Overdrive and I only put 5 hours into GoW and that's it. So I kinda regret it, but I still feel like I'll come back to it some day.

If you trade it in towards an Xbox One X you'll probably get more than $200. I got almost $300 for my PS4 towards the Pro from EB during their trade-in promo and I'm sure they will do something similar for the Xbox One X.

Should've bought a PS4 or Switch.

Buying a PS4 instead wouldn't have changed anything. He seems to be burned out of video games in general. The PS4 and the Xbox share the majority of their catalog, so it wouldn't have mattered much.

The Switch might have been a good alternative, who knows. Then again, he primarily wanted a 4k player and EA Access.

OP : If you're not using your console as a 4k player, doesn't play any game on it (even those on EA Access) and doesn't plan on doing so in the future, just sell it.

If I can trade it in for more than $200 for an Xbox One X, I will probably do it (and then never play it, lol). The Xbox One S only me $274.

I got an Xbox One S when I traded my Wii U to my sister and she gave me hers that she won from a cereal box. I bought the basic games for it but haven't played any of them yet. just been caught up with work, new releases, etc. one day I may turn it back on.

The positive thing is that you'll be able to use the same template as this thread in a couple of months, you'll just have to switch Xbox One S by Xbox One X in the thread title.

Yeah, I bought an S for 4K / HDR and Vudu has Atmos streaming, and it only works on the S at the moment. Not planning on buying an X, as I don't think I need 3 Xbox Ones that never get used.

I actually play mine a bit, but my PS4 slim I got last Black Friday pretty much just sits. I only bought it for the UHD Blu Ray player, but I've been playing a lot of games lately. I just love the controller more than the PS4 one. That's honestly the only reason why I use it more.

That adult escapism where the challenge of gaming can be felt as bothersome. Nothing wrong with it, sometimes you just want to turn your brain off to The Office you've binged for the fifth time

OP, it happens. Nothing wrong with just not being into gaming. Happened to me a few times.

Bought Xbox one a few days after launch. Have only bought 5 games for it since. It has become my youtube and netflix box.

But then again, I haven't played much videogames in the last 5 years. Too busy.

Considering how much you'd get back, I'd just say keep it for Netflix and 4k blu rays. If you feel like playing some sports game at some point, great. But it's cheaper to just hold onto the console than to buy it again later when you have the urge.

Only sell if you're short on money.

I was planning on getting one as a dedicated 4K blu-ray player. I would get the One X, but there's little point as I have a more capable PC.

Bought mine to play 4K movies. Had a launch model before then and never used it aside from Titanfall, Dead Rising 3 and Halo.

Perhaps, but PS4 has Yakuza 0 though so that's an important difference.

The way HDR content is handled. It's similarly a PITA to change settings for HDR games on PS4 Pro. They often look 'dark' unless you change stuff. For whatever reason if I watch Grand Tour or something in HDR on a built-in app, it looks great.

I would say it's the TV, but based on the # of threads we've seen about HDR settings, I think it's just how all HDR TVs/devices handle it at this point. There's no standardization. HDR is a mess on PC too.

Hmm. Well I set my HDR settings once for everything. I'm not changing them around for different content. I have been fairly satisfied, but it depends on the content creator. The Revenant look amazing and Horizon Zero Dawn in HDR was also great. On the other hand the movie The Arrival was terrible and HDR didn't seem to make much of a difference for the Last of Us. Maybe you need to get a professional calibrator to come over.

OP what have you done???? You could have invested that money into some mysterious stocks and made possibly tens of tens of dollars! Instead you bought a game console you barely use.

SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

All I game on.... sounds like me and my PS4 which is a dedicated Naughty Dog machine. It's good to have options OP, I personally wouldn't sell it seeing that you have a vast BC collection to tap into but get selling it at the same time considering it appears the first party exclusives have gone the way of the Dodo.

I exclusively use it as UHD Blu-ray player. Also, it's from a different region than my PS4 so that comes in handy for normal Blu-rays, too.

I might dig into the Atmos app for headphones soon. So far I have always used my MixAmp (5.1 Dolby headphones that can only take DD so it's limited in the bitrate).

I also liked setting up a new device as usual. I made an account, avatar and everything. But I haven't played a single game on it yet. Just zero motivation as I have so much to play on PS4.
I don't like splitting stuff up and to me the PS4 feels so, so much better as a gaming system. It's faster and easier to navigate/jump in and out of games. There are some features/options that are handled well though.
Restmode seems to be handled better on PS4, which is my number 1 feature this gen regarding OS I think. It's a lot of small things that accumulate me not wanting to use that platform if I don't have to (i.e. shitty PS4pro not having 4K Blu-ray...). Like sometimes the controller losing sync even though I just used it to turn on the system... Annoying enough for movies already.
Still might get some exclusives some day.

Was still worth it for Planet Earth 2 in 4K and HDR.
