Where the hell are The Elder Scrolls 6 and Bloodborne 2?!?

This has been bugging me for some time now.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Release date: November 2011

94 on Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim

Over 30 million copies sold: http://www.rollingstone.com/glixel/...alks-switch-vr-and-elder-scrolls-wait-w451761

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has sold 30 million copies, which makes it a hit on the scale of Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Mario. They joked about the game on an episode of NCIS. You can't get more mainstream than that.

---

Bloodborne

Release date: March 2015

92 on Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/bloodborne

It has sold over 2 million copies: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps4s-bloodborne-sells-2-million/1100-6430572/ (that is before DLC launch - no idea how many copies it sold after that! I bought the game in 2017 so I think 3 million copies sold is not a far fetched idea.)

--------------

Both games were uber critically acclaimed and are among the best in their RPG subgenres.

Skyrim is the default RPG to buy when you buy a new PS4/ Xbox One. It is the de facto GTA5 of RPG genre.

Bloodborne is always battling for the #1 spot among the other 4 Souls games. For many, I'd even say for the majority of Souls fans it is the best Souls game available.

Time has passed - 6 years from Skyrim and 2 years from Bloodborne - yet not a hint of any kind of sequel has been announced for both. It is obvious TES6 will be released but why is Bethesda so quiet on it?!? As for Bloodborne 2 I guess the game will be never released so the question is why? Dark Souls got 2 sequels after all.

Bethesda has two major projects that will launch before ES6, and Howard also said that his plan for ES6 is not possible on current-gen hardware. It'll be a while, sadly.

They're working on TES6 don't worry. But games like this take time.
Remember that they made Fallout 4 in between and there is also TESO

Bloodborne 2: We don't even know if they're working on it. Don't expect anything. Do we even know if From is making a PS4 exclusive again?

Bethesda has been milking Skyrim rereleases and putting out new content for Elder Scrolls Online (on top of Fallout 4, of course) and From just put out Dark Souls III last year.

Miyazaki was busy with Dark Souls III in a way he wasn't for DSII during the development of Bloodborne, so I certainly wasn't expecting a Bloodborne sequel this early.

Elder Scrolls 6 is gonna take a while, but if they can get the same reaction from me that I had for Skyrim's gameplay reveal (slack-jawed awe), it'll be worth it.

I'm actually not expecting a Bloodborne 2. From should tackle sci-fi next.

Just because Bloodborne was great, doesn't mean FROM owe you a sequel... If it happens, great, but if they want to do something else, they can. I wouldn't hold my breath tbh,

Don't mind waiting for 6. Hopefully they put some care into that game to make it worthy of a successor to skyrim.

They will probably reveal when they are less than a year of it being done. (If it's a thing)

Do you really want Bloodborne 2? Miyazaki always peaked at his first games(Demons,Dark and Bloodborne) and bad at following up on it(Dark Souls 3).

Bethesda doesn't have the tech they want for ES6

Miyazaki doesn't want to make Bloodborne 2 and Sony can't force From to do it

For Bethesda, it feels like they're working hard trying to get back with paid mods and rereleasing Skyrim for the 10th time.

Whatever it is, it means they are toying with that idea for the next TES and I'm not gonna excite myself over their next game.

Bloodborne came out in 2015, the DLC late 2015, so if it was happening, 2017 might be too soon to reveal it?

Isn't Elder Scrolls 6 being worked on by the same team doing Fallout 4 and several projects before ES6? There's your answer.

TES6 seems, at best, three to four years off.

March of 2021, the first big game after the fall launch of the PS5 in 2020. All to itself in a great window the same way they did with Oblivion. With backward support for a terrible buggy mess of a version for the last gen consoles.

Fuck that, I'd rather have more Witcher games, and they're never coming.
Ah come on, we all know there will be a new game at least in the same universe. But first they will finish Cyberpunk.

@Topic:
The Elder Scrolls Online is their TES-game for now. They aren't in a hurry with TES6 and will take their time to shake things up a bit.

Bloodborne 2 - or a spiritual successor - might be shown at PSX this year. I hope this is Sci-Fi-Souls in the same universe as Bloodborne. Bloodborne already had
aliens
.

Yeah, this is probably how/when it could release. I would take a Oblivion remaster somewhere between now and then. A full remake doesn't seem likely though. =/

TESO wasn't made by Bethesda, it was Zenimax Online.

They however did have the fallout 4 dlc's that they made and such after fallout 4.

In development, like all games before they're released, and having 2015 in bold for Bloodborne like it's some long ass time since the last one lol.

Judging from rumors Bethesda Softworks wonted to make something "new" after Fallout 4 so ESO was Zenimax's "lets have SOMETHING Elder Scrolls on the market this gen" strategy.

I fully expect more Elder Scrolls from them before more Fallout again.

As for BB2. Who the heck knows. I wouldnt put much stock into those old "From as a 3 game deal with Sony" rumors either. Its been so long for a studio famous for working quick.

Bethesdas game schedule is becoming incredibly problematic. Es6 will likely come out over a decade after skyrim.

It becomes even more problematic when one of their games is dissapointing like fallout 4. If they make a mistake and release a dud, it's going to be ten years before they can right the ship.

They either need to expand, or they need to let other teams work on mainline entries of these franchises (not mmo games) because this problem is only going to get worse now that they are adding another ip to he mix

The Bloodborne IP is owned by Sony.

Bethesda Game Studios, the developer does not equal Bethesda Softworks, the publisher. An important difference people aren't aware of. But BGS's last bit of content they released was Fallout 4 DLC a year ago, not Skyrim 6 years ago.

Even more so taking into consideration Bethesda Game Studios is working on more projects outside of the usual TES and Fallout now (Fallout 4 VR being one of them), it is highly unrealistic to expect a TES VI any time soon. It has been unrealistic to expect one for a long time despite how many people keep expecting it at E3 year after year.

Considering ESO, all of the Skyrim remasters, and TES: Legends, Bethesda Softworks has seemingly planned on filling in the void of the next Elder Scrolls games for a long time.

I think Bloodborne II is definitely in development with a possible reveal at PS Experience this year and possibly coming out next year. A new Elder Scrolls game is undoubtedly coming but I would be stunned if we see The Elder Scrolls VI before 2020.

Here's a tidbit as to how crazy Elder Scrolls' ambition can get. Paraphrasing from an old EDGE feature article that was released a long time before Skyrim manifested.
Let's say your character drops a sword in a village somewhere. An child NPC would find the sword and take it for itself. Years later, when you venture back into the village, that NPC might have become a villain, a hero, a mercernary or anything.
My point with this quote is that Elder Scrolls makers always try to trump the previous games. In their eyes, Skyrim has to be a bit of a letdown in places. They will take their sweet time.

As for a Bloodborne sequel, the same storyline cannot progress any more. Regardless of how the player ended the game, that narrative is over and done with (some wiggle room perhaps, but not a lot). If From ever decides to revisit this, it will either be in the guise of a prequel of sorts or a totally different location/setting, taking onto itself Bloodborne in name only.

TES6 is definitely coming, but Todd Howard has stated it's not possible on this gen, maybe when X1X2 and Pro 2 are out....I'm thinking 2020 at the earliest, more like 2021 or 2022.

ESO is Beth's big TES game for the moment, it's got a massive player base and churns out money with it's crown store, it's a bit of a silent juggernaut really (and bloody good too if you love TES lore and adventures I might add).

BB2 I see coming pretty soon though, way before TES6 anyways.. can't wait, probably my favourite game this gen still!

I agree, and I want TES6 badly. But it's also kinda insane that 6 years later Skyrim was featured in something like 3 or 4 of the main E3 conferences / presentations. Game has staying power.

Did he really? Was it "infinite quests"?" I cannot wait for that unveil speech (and the game, maybe).

And Oblivion might as well be MIA, since both have been less ambitious than Morrowind

I want them to take their sweet time for ES6 as I'm hoping against hope that they build a new engine for it, and that'll take time.

Actually the question is why are you assuming a sequel is never going to be made when the game is two years and change old (and we've had Dark Souls III a bit over a year ago). Souls games sell very well and if it isn't Bloodborne 2, it will be some other wonderful thing we never knew we wanted (like BB was to DS). Or probably both.
