Twin Peaks Season 3 OT |25 Years Later...It Is Happening Again

I noticed that one of the Woodsmen has the same blood gushing from mouth problem that Billy and the guy in the cell do, interesting.

Drunk (the guy in the cell) is hardly gushing blood. If I had to guess, from the looks of his mouth and the way he's speaking, Drunk has had some teeth knocked out. Probably got into a fight, or fell over.

We can safely presume though, that Freddie didn't punch him. Because jesus whatever happened to Chuck and his pal after Freddie punched them seemed to go beyond just concussive force.

They made a point of showing blood pouring onto the floor from his mouth in the last episode

Theories/opinions:

- Kettle Jefferies is probably a prisoner of the Woodsmen, or more likely, whoever they work for. Probably the same person using Jefferies' name. Also considering the exchange between Ray and Mr. C at The Farm, it seems a fair assumption that hotel is "The Dutchman's". It tracks with everything we've heard about it. Philip Jefferies is there, it's "not a real place" and Mr. C knows what it is (and seemingly how to get there).

- It's pretty clear now that The Woodsmen are not working for or with Mr. C at all. I still think The Woodsmen are different from Lodge spirits, but still of the same nature.

- The Convenience Store seems to be a convergence of worlds or dimensions, and thus as has been stated before by Jefferies, a meeting place of Lodge inhabitants and their ilk.

- Still doesn't make sense for Lorraine to have been hired by Duncan Todd IMO. After her hitmen fail to intercept Dougie/Coop while getting the second of two rides from Jade, she beeps that black box in Buenos Aires which as far as we've seen, is probably related to whoever is pulling the strings against Mr. C. Doesn't make sense for her to have that level of access if she's hired by Todd when he himself seemingly doesn't. My guess is still that whoever hired Lorraine wanted Dougie, not Cooper, dead so that there was no alternative vessel for Cooper to land in besides Mr. C. That's why it was time-sensitive to kill Dougie for her, and that's why "Jefferies" wanted him dead, despite him and Cooper being aligned against Mr. C.

- Where the fuck is Candie? Apart from being awesome, that tweet from Kyle a while back seemed to insinuate big things for her and yet the only scene we've seen since then with Candie is handing out gift prizes to Bushnell like she was one of the girls on The Price is Right.

- As for Judy, I'm stumped. Briggs kinda sorta makes sense but if Judy was code for Briggs, Gordon Cole should have picked up on that and figured it out. He already knew Briggs at that point in the timeline, going by TSHOTP. Then again, apparently Cole totally forgot about that time his long-lost friend and Blue Rose co-founder appeared out of nowhere at the Philadelphia FBI offices 25 years ago and then disappeared just as abruptly until just now, so maybe not. Seems like something I'd remember, but maybe not if I was having regular Monica Bellucci dreams like Cole.

- Freddie's punches were super lame. Sound effect was good but the way it was shot looked really stupid to me. Did not convey the force he's supposed to be hitting them with at all.

This episode gave me my first glimpse of what it's like to hate the show. I really wanted to skip the scene with Steven and afterwards I knew that I just as well could have.

I thought about this today:

"She's my cousin. But doesn't she almost look exactly like Laura Palmer?"

The Arm came from MIKE whose mother is the Experiment/Mother (I'm assuming she gave birth to him the same way she did to BOB). If "Laura" is his cousin could that mean that the Fireman is his "uncle"? So the Experiment/Mother and the Fireman are like siblings that represent/guard the white and black lodges?

It didn't insinuate anything. Showtime and Kyle normally post gifs from the previous episode to hype up the next. Doesn't mean they have anything to do with the contents of the episode being hyped.

Kyle's Candie hype came a week early, but I assume it was meant for the episode where Candie and company bring the cake to Dougie's office.

Heh, Maclachlan's Instagram has a piece of fan artwork on it that has the best name I've seen yet for Mr. C/DoppelCoop:

Badly Cooper.

We haven't seen Freddie hit someone properly yet. He purposefully pulled those punches to try and do as little damage as possible. I expect when we do, it'll look a little more impactful.

I expect him to full force explode the woodsmen who come for Naido.

If "Laura" is his cousin could that mean that the Fireman is his "uncle"? So the Experiment/Mother and the Fireman are like siblings that represent/guard the white and black lodges?

MIKE says BOB was his familiar =

familiar - a demon supposedly attending and obeying a witch, often said to assume the form of an animal.

So it's safe to assume the witch is MIKE/the arm that controls BOB and that BOB takes the form of an Owl. It seems as though BOB created Mr.C as a way to escape MIKE/the arm.

I now assume when MIKE is talking through Philip Gerard that this isn't a third entity, this IS the arm (MIKE is Michael J Anderson's name after all). This is also why Gerard's name in season 3 is still Gerard and not MIKE even though he's been in the black lodge the entire season. I think MIKE is a manifestation of all of the bad that was inside of Gerard ("I cut off the arm and was purified") the same way Mr.C is the same for Cooper. There are definitely plot holes and issues with Gerard/MIKE's story throughout the whole show and film but this is what I take from it.

TLDR - I don't think MIKE was born at the same time BOB was. The arm is MIKE.

don't care about that, it's just a character. it's just that the only truly interesting thing about the character was the actor who played him, so all the phone calls and mentions of "phillip jeffries" just felt empty since i didn't believe for a second bowie might actually have filmed something for the show, so i knew it would end up being something disappointing, and it did with the kettle.

honestly, i see absolutely zero difficulty in moving that stuff over to desmond. all this is so fucking vague anyway that it would be no problem whatsoever.

Jeffries is an interesting character because he was an FBI agent working with Gordon Cole who was teleported to the place above the convenience store and witnessed the madness therein. I may be misremembering but he was the only person in the world of TP who went to the convenience store (edit: until s3 I mean). Bowie playing him was the icing on top, not the whole cake.

I don't know how I'm going to make it through three more hours of this.

I don't know how I'm going to make it after there are no more hours of this, to me it's easily the most compelling thing on TV right now and when it's all over I think television will feel a little more mundane than it was even before The Return aired.

It's not really TV though. It's an 18 hour film split up into pieces. There aren't even arcs in the episodes.

Genius.

Fun episode BTW - enjoyed it. Next 3 are Coop righting all wrongs and wrapping it all up. Maybe.

The scene with Margaret/Log Lady was hugely emotional to watch though. Can't imagine how it must have felt to be there.

Yeah, I'm a little stressed about it. I'm sure I'll find other means of escape, but this has been on a different level to any other season of TV I can remember... and being able to escape from reality for a while seems more necessary now than ever.

I mean I get that, but this is still something I'm plopping down on the couch for on a weekly basis, of course the "18 hour movie" thing only adds to the uniqueness of it all.

I love this story:

In fact, Bowie stole a part of Jeffries’ costume for a good cause: “I’ve worn [his belt] a few times on stage with Tin Machine. It consists of two rather garish portraits of Frida Kahlo. A very “now” item. I’m hoping it will lead to a court case producing massive exposure on CNN. Otherwise, I will sell it to the highest bidder… or Madonna, perhaps.”

EDIT: This too:
Miguel Ferrer said:
David was just about to roll camera and he came over to me. He always called me Albert, he never called me Miguel. He said, [whispering] “Hey Albert.” I said, “Hey Dave.” He said, “That’s David Bowie.” I said, “Yeah, I know.” David says, “Pretty cool, huh?” [laughs] Then he rolled camera and we did the scene. But, you know, that’s David. He was just incredibly impressed by the fact David Bowie was right there and I love that about him.

My thoughts on Episode 15:

Cooper arranged that pepper or salt shaker(or whatever these two things were). Didn't he do something similar in the first Season? Arrange something on a table so it looks organized? It shows that he slowly comes back, but that doesn't matter because he gets spooked by hearing "Gordon Cole" on TV and sticks the fork into the power outlet.

We got the Log Lady scene right afterwards, correct? She said something like death isn't the end but a change.

Cooper stuck the fork into the outlet. He could've died, but instead it probably changed him back to normal Coop. A change.

+It looks like those people were right with the 315 theory. He came out of an outlet in 3 and put a fork into an outlet in 15.

I'm betting my profile picture that he's back in Episode 16.

Couple Questions:

1. Since I've not seen FWWM, I'm confused on the timeline in which Jeffries was supposed to have talked to coop. What that before or after season 1 & 2 in the series?

2. Has anyone figured out what conversations happened between Hawk and the Log lady that occurred in person only? I don't remember anything from this season so I'm assuming it must be from previous encounters?

Not sure but the shakers also looked like two ... peaks.

0. Watch FWWM

1. Before the original series

2. No. Likely stuff we haven't seen and she feels might get picked up by lodge members across the phone lines via electricity.

I'm far more okay with Bowie being a kettle now than I should be.

people are saying kettle because of the smoke, but I feel like it's an electrode. Look at the top. And he moves through electricity. Also looks like the object in the while lodge with the Fireman, and the one at the top of the purple lodge.

If Coop comes back, what's the first thing he's going to do, you think? What can he do anyway? Decide to run out on Naomi and his kid, and back to Twin Peaks?

i feel like the first scene we will see in the next ep is scenes rushing into his head. Then he hightails it to TP. I'm not sure he'll have any memory of the Dougie stuff or the family. At least they're taken care of.

1. Thanks

2. I was thinking it was off screen stuff we weren't privy to or possibly stuff from season 2 or something.

Everything in FWWM is set before season 1.

Thanks as well.

I thought the footage from FWWM was prior to season one and two timelines. How does that makes sense though? It seems like Jeffries questions if he's actually speaking to the real coop. This is even referenced in Gordon's dream in the previous episode. How's that possible if cooper hadn't been to the lodge though?
