Game of Thrones *NO BOOK DISCUSSION* |OT2| Season 7 - [Read the OP]

Why the hell did Bran sit this one out?

We're all talking about how nobody should trust Cersei.

But really, why would Cersei agree to meet with Dany? Lady's got 2 dragons, and she's the daughter of the Mad King. Why would she openly agree to this?

I know she has some kind of screwy plan, but her only option is peace here.

Beric may be one of my favorite characters in the show.
That moment when he and Thoros casually lit their swords was gangsta as hell.

Because she's extremely confident that she'll get another play of the game.

I just hope D&D expand on WW society in season 8. I wanna see how they function/communicate/live, they can't just be wandering the north for potential recruits 24/7.

Is peace really an option for her? I don't see Dany wanting to let her live after the hypothetical Northern festivities.

One thing I wonder is why did it take them 8000 years to come back.

They aren't and thats the point. What was the point in compressing all the episodes? Everyone's zipping through Westeros like its a small tiny location. The dumb Raven>Dany idea? Even a basic fan understands now that NK is the sworn enemy of Bran/3ER. Why the hell did Bran sit this one out? Why is NK's spear throws taking so long? Some just amateur stuff was going on this episode.

It's the biggest problem I had with this episode. It could have been much improved if Bran had shown some of his potential to the NK and Jon. I'll be pissed if all this comes down to a 1v1 fight between Jon and the NK. I don't hate the episode, but there's so many missed opportunities this season.

I'm assuming they were defeated to tiny numbers. The only way they could "raise" and army of weights is for wildlings north of the wall to die over several generations and then raise them. To build an "army" could take hundreds or thousands of years.

Is this Dark Souls 3?

What I just realised: How the hell is season 7 even supposed to end without being one major clusterfuck?
Lannister-stuff is unclear, Jon/Dany-stuff is unclear, what's going on with the Dorne-women in the cell, what about Bran, Littlefinger, Sansa and Arya?
I guess they won't be able to solve this in the next ep.
And if it would be all in the next season that season would be packed..

I think they will meet in peace, and will fight together vs. Death.

Dany is going to be right in the thick of it, Jon will, Jaime will, pretty much everyone will save for a few who aren't fighters. Varys, LF, and Cersei to name a few. She'll sit back while others fight, including her own men. At this point it's to her advantage to make peace and let the others do the killing while she watches from the sidelines.

If it works out for her and Dany dies, then good, if not, then back to square one with smaller armies.

80min and the pace this season is crazy.. I think they're going to resolve a heck of a lot of those storylines tbh.

Question. Where are all the young or adolescent white walkers? White Walker battle school?

There's no way the meeting goes off peacefully. I can't think of any reason why it should.

Read the rest of my post, I say why it's to her advantage that they do.

Peace is Cersei's best option for thinning out her enemies while she does nothing.

Oh, sorry, can't fight...I'm pregnant.

Even after sleeping it off, I still cant believe what a stupid ass episode that was. Ugh. The finale is gonna have all sorts of fuckery.

I especially hated the Sansa / Arya forced drama. Maybe Arya is playing 12D chess but the Waif storyline also ended stupidly so I dont have any hopes of this one to be something clever.

Yo, the show is bad and D&D should feel bad. I definitely thought this episode was the height of stupidity this season. A lot of people are way too forgiving or they just aren't thinking very critically about what they are watching.

But I keep fucking watching it.

I'm honestly just hoping to see Tyrion redeemed by season's end. For all the seemingly virulent dumbness going around to so many characters on this show, it's a shame to see the master player fall victim to short-sightedness.

I know it would probably suck if they didn't have a dragon but boo!

I hate the Arya and Sansa plot. I would have thought the former would have been wise to something that is hello it's Littlefinger at least and she does suspect him as being shady anyway. Annoying thread.

I really, really hope Arya is playing LF and has to do this to Sansa because she needs Sansa to act naturally in order to have LF believe.

Arya spent ages as a fucking blind person. Her hearing alone should be so finely attuned that LF shouldn't be able to sneak near her without being aware.

Arya has always been a dumbass meat-head.

I dunno man, I don't think I'd give D&D that much credit.

You'll never see them again, Ellaria
actress post-show interview said she was done and off the show.

Has the show's storyline surpassed the book? Sorry I haven't been paying attention to the fine details.

We surpassed most book material in Season 5. But book talk is for the other thread.

Feel bad for Sansa, but I wonder if they should have made her more emotionally indifferent. She's been through some shit and it would make her drama with Jon/Arya make much more sense.

Right now she's just pointlessly being played by LF and Arya is being a dick, and she really feels like she's a little scared girl again

The traveling was ridiculous with the raven and then Dany. Nice episode regardless. Altought I feel like the show lacks surprises now and the Sansa vs the other sister is just nonesense.

Edit: Bran being the Night King makes no sense.

It really is sad to see Sansa's character development regress so fast. Goes from being hardened to the point of seeing LF for exactly what he is, to keeping him as her sole confidant and being played like a clueless little girl.

I still like GoT, but I've found my interest waning. Where I used to be hooked, I now find myself getting easily distracted. The story just isn't as interesting as it was before

How dumb..

No. We're not going to be complaining about how bad everything Dorne was and then complain about ending it. Not much reason to show Ellaria and Tyene anyway, they're as good as dead.

Ellaria was one of the worst characters in the show, anyway. I don't care about her death just get her off my TV.

At the very least Bran should have told Arya and Sansa all the dirty shit LF has done.

Some great moments. I actually thought we were gonna lose Tormund for a minute, Jesus I was on the edge of my seat, when they all jumped on him and started dragging him into the water.

Also Night King be like, tell Bronn this is how you shoot down Dragons. ;)

Did we ever get any additional details on the NK turning babies into white walkers? Has that ever been touched upon after the scene?

The sheer scale and polish of the production is what actually keeps me hooked when the writing fails. This season, I've just been so constantly impressed at the scale of what we're getting in TV episodes. It blows my mind.

Lol, best part of every monday is watching an amazing GoT episode, raving about it with the GF, having friends message "did you see the last episode!? OMG!" or similar.. then logging onto gaf and see that it was apparently the worst episode ever and this, easily the best thing that's been on TV, is supposedly shit. Never change gaf.

What do you mean? Bran wasn't even in this episode.
It's 110% obvious that some posters in here are "speculating" with knowledge of leaked material.

It's bad writing delivered by bad actors. Most of the good actors are dead and most of the central characters left are either boring or have been reduced to boring roles.

They clearly saw the overwhelming positive reception for Oberyn and wanted to expand on that, but it was all handled appallingly.

Sad thing is Indira Varma wasn't the issue. The show could do with more of her (and Diana Rigg) but it's full steam ahead on other storylines.

At least Rigg got a good death.

Dorne has been poorly received. They were right to kill off that plotline asap this season.

I don't like them either, but before killing plotlines just kill the people and be done with it.
Everything else feels untold..
