I know I already asked questions earlier, and it seems really great. I see a lot of people talking about pouring in 100+ hours into the game. Definitely seems worth $60; do you all think so? Or, is a lot of that "padding" and I should try and wait to find it for just a bit cheaper, like either a used copy or wait a while for it to possibly come down in price (if a game like this would even do that; I'm not familiar with the company to know if they do that type of thing or not after a year or two!)? Again, I'm coming into it entirely fresh having never played it before!
I would say it's worth full price but there is quite a lot of padding. Puzzles and Draugrs are reused quite a lot, and dungeon layouts don't feel all that different from each other with a decent number of exceptions. Dragon fights can get a bit repetitive too. Also item variety in the base game isn't amazing, though it's better than Oblivion in my opinion. But if there are mods (which are rumored) that will take care of a lot of those padding issues.
Padding wise one big thing to look out for are the miscellaneous "radiant" quests which are randomly and endlessly generated. Unless you really want whatever the reward is it's probably a good idea to ignore most of them because it gets incredibly tedious trying to complete them all.
As for length, one of the reasons people can put so much time into it is also the replayability- you can basically go through the game as a full-on warrior, mage, or thief or any hybrid thereof and it's kinda difficult to experience all of that in one play through.
Also one tip if you've decided to get it- there's a very easy exploit to make yourself incredibly powerful early on involving synergy between enchanting, alchemy and smithing, but using this exploit basically removes any of the challenge in the game and I'd recommend not doing so unless you want to just faceroll the entire game.
60 dollarydoos and no modding is a hard sell even if it ran perfectly and has all the DLC.
Why are people assuming no modding? The early rumors said it will have the same mods the PS4 version had (which obviously are inferior to PC mods), though we've had no official word on it either way (AFAIK).
