The wife and I started rewatching from the beginning and when Jon Snow first sees a wight at the wall, he throws a lantern at it but burns his hand. Kind of goes against the whole Targarian Blood thing, I guess they could just retcon it or ignore it in other ways...

Good look. I don't see them going down this road. He isn't a dragon. Dany is. It works better for the story if she is unique in that, imo.

His natural +5 at Dragon Handling is enough of a bonus.

Season finale being named The Dragon and The Wolf should be about Rhaegar and Ghost meeting up. The episode should then just be a buddy cop adventure with these two.

Edit: Meant Rhaegal the dragon not poppa Rhaegar, but either or is good lol.

Ghost meeting up with a ghost and forming a partnership would be hilarious.

You know what? I am still pissed about Ghost. There is literally no reason that Jon would not have taken him on the mission beyond the wall. If I win Powerball, I am giving this show money to put Ghost back in the show.

Ah yes, the season final. I'm okay with GoT ending and having to wait over a year for the next season. This is a thing that does not bother me.

No, it refers to the true Dragon returning to slay his sister and that half-breed pretender

The Viserys we saw burned was a Faceless Man hired by Ilyrio.

Did you miss Viserys getting his head melted?

Think they can just fully CGI Ghost for S8 instead of the method they've been using?
Or would it still not be convincing enough?

Honestly, I wish they had done cgi wolves from the point where they had to use real wolves and not dogs but I guess that might've taken a chunk out of the dragon budget.

Regardless of everyone's opinion on the theory... the only way we'll know if the waif is or is not arya is dependent on her seeing beric, melisandre or ilyn payne. (i guess the corpse or knowledge of thoros' death, too)

Arya seemingly convinced the waif in the game of faces that the only people on her list was cersei, walder frey and the mountain. (and knows the hound was on it but not anymore)

Imagine if every time we saw Jon, Ghost was beside him?

Sure, but you know he doesn't make it out of the Battle of the Bastards alive. Or if by some miracle he does, you know he would die during the events of last episode. I'd rather Ghost not show up, rather than showing up being Uncle Benjened.

We still lost a dragon :(

Actually that one is on Jon.

I'm not that uspet with it. It was foreshadowed (spoilered?) and predictable, it didn't come as a big surprise to me. The resurrection was also obvious: I liked how they did the bear thing first to tell the audience that "hey, dead animals can be raised too!".

I don't even blame Jon: the ice spear would have taken one of them by surprise in whichever first battle Ice kings and Dragons are in together. Jon beyond the wall or not, it was bound to happen at some point because the ice spear is ridiculously overpowered and no one knew about it. Now we do, and Danny will have to think twice before firebombing the white walkers.

Umm.. Anyone else notice Long Claw when he came out of the water?

The eyes of the Longclaw prop seems to be using some sort of transparent material that looks blue when reflecting light at certain angles. You can see it change a lot in scenes where it gets rotated around like when he talks to Jorah about it. When he comes out of the water, there's a splash and the water droplets change the lighting on it.

Yeah but still it seems really weird. Particularly with how the eyes look afterwards.

Slowmo kind of doesn't help debunk it either..

So something that was jarring to me during the ice bear sequence, was that only one person (Tormund) attacks the bear during the entire time it was attacking Thoros. Thoros steps in to save the Hound, and the bear stars biting down on his sword. After a while, Tormund takes a swing at it, and then get slapped away.

Bear then resumes on Thoros, yanks his sword away, and then starts munching on him.

Then after all that, does Jorah run in from behind a still stunned Hound to one shot kill it with dragon glass.

Where was everybody? Where was Jorah coming from?

Dany wasn't born when he died, and buddy already had three children. How old do you think he'd be?

Let's say 6-7 years have passed since Robert came to Winterfell. Rhaegar, Ned, Robert were around the same age, 23-24 when he died. So, he would be around 45-47. So not that old.
