World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

As an aff warlock that has a tank pet (infernal) and a constant stream of self-healing with healthstones, phantom singularity and drain soul and cant be dazed (demon skin) I try and keep in mind I'm having a way easier time then most.

I do see people dying all the time. We get faster mount speed when we discover the whole map
Aff warlocks are wild when it comes to survivability. I just hit 110 on mine and am only like 860 item lvl, but I'm able to withstand large groups of mobs on Argus.

The days are coming of the Voids drab purple. You will beg for green.

I kinda like the idea of Krokuun being a hostile environment you need to try and navigate but they did the same thing with Tanaan because its Bleeding Hollow territory and that sucked. Antoran Wastes are just a mess. Hopefully McCree is more interesting.

Argus is hostile that is the premise because of the density is my guess because on broken isle you could avoid a lot.

I like Argus, I just wish there was more we could do in it.
Will we at least get cool story quests every week or will it be broken shore like stupidity?

I think the biggest problem with the Antoran Wastes is that we're just dropped straight into it and then we get the WQs and it... just feels really random? Maybe the 2nd set of story quests will provide some better context.

Macaree is very much 'the last of argus that isn't destroyed' and it shows. It's tranquil, actually very pretty, and quite flat.

Nice.

Invasion points are live now also, right?

Yes, the questline that unlocks today is like 15 quests long, it actually took like an hour to do it all and none of it was mindless killing (there was killing, but it's like 12 mobs at a time tops). The invasions are cool, I prefer them to the legion invasions on the isles, they're quick mini scenarios.

Archerus Drapes finally dropped on my DK. Just happy I've been able to avoid it so long. If I ever happen to tank Necrotic weeks on him, I guess I can use it?

Does the Vindicaar Matrix Core grant you an ability for finishing last week's quest chain? I could've sworn it did, but I can't see any action button or zone ability to use for it. I'm told today grants a second one...

You have to click on the giant core in the center of the bottom room of the Vindicaar. Gives you choices on what you want to use. It's pretty much the Garrison ability.

I did, but didn't realize that the ability was actually in the Spellbook. Man, when's the last time they had us pop the General tab open for anything? That could have been better explained. I bet a large % of the population isn't using this ability. I mean, nothing happens when you click on the core, so it isn't evident. Thanks though.

Love the 2nd ability unlocked with this week's quests. And damn, if Mac'Aree isn't awesome so far. Barely into it and am in love with it. The glorious skybox, the music, the lore, and the respite from green demon sludge and rocky demon rocks.

Can somebody give me a very rough idea what difficulty I should solo the MoP and WoD dungeons/raids with a pretty fresh paladin (ilvl 850)?

I mean, scaling works in a way where being 885 is a lot better than 850 and not hard to get. Even regular mythic gear is 885.

MoP raids you should be fine doing heroic difficulty although some specific fights might prove problematic because of mechanics/dps checks to skip mechanics that when done solo mean failure. Not sure about Mythic, though with my Hunter who was at 890 SoO M wasn't difficult to solo.
WoD raids 10 normal is perfectly doable for the starting raids, maybe more but I'd say just give a try to the harder difficulties and see how you fare. At most you'll die and then turn the difficulty/mode down.

Dungeon wise, highest difficulty is perfectly soloable at 850, which means Heroic in MoP and Mythic in WoD.

I was soloing a few MoP raids on my DK and Rouge at low 800's ilvl before I quit last year, and the difference between 860 when I came back and 890 where I am now is massive in current content, I imagine it's insanely notable for legacy content. I haven't done them in a bit but it doesn't take too long to get to most of these places so just pop in and give it a shot. I think WoD might require noticeably higher ilvls than MoP because there was a massive amount of item level growth during WoD.

EDIT: Reading through some blue posts, Ornyx is like Press Secretary level good at communicating with the community. Always guarded yet explaining Blizzard's position effectively and without being too apologetic. I like it.

Everything from MOP is soloable at 850 as a paladin but I wouldn't go higher than normal in WOD at that gear level and even then I don't think I would bother, just spend a few days getting up to 880ish first to make things go much quicker. My paladin is 910 and while heroic WOD is a walk in the park (except Archimonde due to P3 mechanics that paladins can only overcome by killing him before he gets his cast off and evades or by bringing a friend), I get destroyed by certain mythic WOD bosses that have a stacking debuff and/or CC (which feels like most of them).

RIP Outlaw Rogue. I had the AoE cloak for Sin/Sub before trying out Outlaw. First legendary is the crappy cloak, second is Sephuz. I was just saving up tokens to roll shoulders, too, and see if I could get Mantle. I guess it's still good for Mythic+, and right now with the bad T20 tier bonuses that's all Outlaw's really got...

So at 925 (death knight) I could probably solo heroic HFC? Need the blue sword off Archimonde.

Man, that view of Mac'Aree from the Vindicaar...hnnnngggghhhhh
Man that looked so amazing. Had to stop for a minute and just stare / take a few screenshots.

I just touched down in Mac'Aree, but it looks great. Almost reminded me of some No Man's Sky planet with all the colors.

Thanks for the posts.

Seems like championship armaments are pretty useless now after you acquire enough equipment, since they no longer seem to reward the ilvl upgrade items. I also notice more 15 or 25 gold per WQ items than before. The equipment that rewards you with 50 gold per WQ didn't seem that rare previously.

Mac'Aree is a refreshing change from all the green. Also I legit laughed at
'You face Jarasum, Grand Vizier of the Conservatory!'

Yeah, as soon as I read who this guy was, I was almost sure Blizzard would make him say that as soon as I talked to him. I wasn't disappointed lol.

Kinda wish that the Scythe of Elune acquisition scenario took place in The Blackwald in the ruins of Gilneas rather than that generic Duskwood/Deadwind Pass one. The artifact itself is a callback to the Worgen starting scenario, it's something you fight Sylvanas forces over during the fall of Gilneas to prevent her from gaining and using the Scythe to inflict the Worgen curse on all of humanity. The generic Duskwood scenario still felt weirdly appropriate for a Worgen druid given that it started in Mistmantle Manor and had you tracking Worgen to Karazhan even though it is shared across so many different classes.

The artifact ability seems absolutely bonkers. I'm pretty ungeared at 98, my regular damage spells take a bit to chip things down but I'm two-shotting stuff and building crazy amounts of resources with the artifact ability. Legion Boomkin looks like it's going to be pretty fun to play.

I like the neat little scenario where you can find and heal some of the original druids of the fang in Val'sharah with the Scythe. It's some nice flavour for the spec.

Edit: One thing leveling this Druid up from scratch did for me was provide a new appreciation for Legion and it's end-game content. With WoD you've got a limited number of activities in a zone once you clear the PVE. Some one-and-done Rares to fight, treasures, the one-time bonus objective areas and that's sort of it outside of those awful garrison blue-bar daily areas (like Socrethar's Rise or The Pit). With Legion all of the zones remain sort of relevant.

I read that you can get legendaries from treasure chests, but has anyone had any luck with that? Shaman is still looking for his first, and I'm tempted to just go for all the chests on the map. Not exactly the most exciting thing to do, though.

I've gotten them from chests on Broken Shore.

Always nice to discover one of those tiny nice touches and bits of attention to detail.

Hakmud of Argus is one of the merchants on the Alliance mammoth mount. It looks like they've added in a custom chat message if you dismiss him while on Argus

You can get them from almost anything you can loot short of trash mobs. It's just that the chance has always been ridiculously low.

Do they normally do maintenance on Wednesday nights?

It's not specifically a callback to the Worgen starting scenario; the source of the Worgen curse is just straight-up the Scythe of Elune.
