Okami HD remastered rated by Korean GRB

Why no Switch port?
The game was greenlit before the Switch long-term success was ensured and the dev studio may not have Switch dev kits at this point. Of course, Capcom could've helped them get access to Switch dev kits but that could've easily led to delays in their schedule.

Either way, I'd be surprised if the PC as well as the console versions did not have the necessary polish. Their latest ports/remasters of older games were all rather decent from what I see.

If Capcom is willing to port over this game a 3rd time I say they should already commit to a 3rd game already it's been 11 years Okami came out and 6 years since Okamiden came out. Seriously how many more times is Okami getting ported before we get another sequel?

Porting a beloved, well regarded game is likely easier to do than a full blown modern sequel. Remember, the original did not sell well, and it (and God Hand) flopping killed Clover. I don't think the higher ups at Capcom want to bankroll an expensive, modern follow up to Okami.

No Switch port is more related to the fact Capcom didn't want to than any time required to handle such a port. Ports dont take long except they are ported from exotic hardware to another exotic hardware from an exotic engine.

Although the dev kit situation might be true too. Especially if QLOC is behind the port. It's a small (yet really amazing) porting company in Poland.

Another port could mean that a sequel is coming. I hear Itsuno likes creating sequels to Kamiya's games.

In any case, I'm in for the Switch version if one exists. Let's have a Viewtiful Joe collection next.

One of the best, if not the best Zelda-like games ever made, if you have no experience on these types of games, Okami is one of the best the genre has to offer.

Highly recommended, don't miss out.

PC! thank god! hope it's as solid port as Okami for PS3. This will be the 4th time I've owned the game now. Easily one of my favorite games ever.

Just need GOD HAND remastered, people need to play this, it just an underappreciated gem.

Sounds like complaining about it "derails" threads just as much. Hence our conversation right now. Ignore it and move on.
Not exactly when asking why it isn't on Switch etc details the thread alone when they just show it's not coming to Switch then discussion with the non existent version on a thread to talk about the announced ports. Also it happens in every single thread for a game that's not coming to Switch, I own a Switch myself but it can get ridiculous

If by that you mean taking a series and genre to a whole new level to the point where even Kamiya copied it with Bayonetta then sure.

Other than that no.
I said nothing of the quality of his sequels and have no problem with your opinion of them. He could do the same for Okami. Yes, I know it won't happen. Probably.

Do we actually know there's no Switch port, though? Someone pointed out the Switch isn't out in Korea; do any Switch games have entries in their rating board?

IIRC, the original leak was from a Spanish retailer and didn't include a Switch SKU. If it is coming to Switch at some point, it likely won't be day and date with the other platforms. We'll have to wait for official word to find out.

The filter on the PS2 version is still miles better than on any other version.

Even putting it to the max setting on the HD release didn't provide close to the same effect.

Hopefully it will come to Switch for glorious touchscreen-celestial-brush goodness, I guess you can get the same in touchscreen notebooks but the Switch option is much cheaper.

No really, after okamiden I can't go back to use joysticks to draw figures, it's barbaric :p

Not necessarily.

Capcom, and other Japanese companies, have been focused on high margin products in the modern era since development is so expensive. Capcom has been focused on cheaply porting over properties, especially to PC, the past few years. While using their internal studios to leverage their core IP.

I just beat it last year. I think the game is too overrated for its own good on the net; but it was definitely a really special and memorable experience nonetheless. I would definitely get it on the pc or ps4, the former being the preference if it happens.

In any case: I wonder how reliable these news are? (Meaning, when someone issued a rating for a yet unannounced game, and the game was eventually announced/released.)

Korean Rating Board leak means it's basically 200% guaranteed true.

Hopefully this also means God Hand and Viewtiful Joe in the future.

It wouldn't because most peolpe would just get it on the other platforms at that point. I know I will.
I feel like there will be enough people who would either buy it yet again on Switch or for the first time on Switch. It's supposed to be a Zelda-like after all, right? Of course this should do well on Switch.

I'll definitely wait to see if there will be a Switch version down the line. Backlog is big enough and for sich a long game like this I'd rather play it on a handheld.

Hopefully Capcpom will come around and throw it on Switch eventually. Okami is still the best wolf-centric Zelda game imo

It's very annoying and derails threads.

If some people just state the wish it comes to switch the only thing that derails it is the hoards of people complaining about them. I'll not do it but you could count the people mentioning the Switch and the people complaining about it. I'm 100% sure on which number is higher.

Mods have already weighed in on port begging. If people want to port beg, they can make a dedicated thread, but wishing in threads like these just serve to shit up the conversation and make it difficult to actually discuss the game in question. It's really simple.

Please point out where the game got discussed in such depth that someone saying it would make sense if it came to the Switch did disrupt said discussion.

Wouldn't you agree that maybe it should be considered to look at what game is the topic and in what context?
In this case Capcom skipping the Switch would make zero sense, and some people pointing that out is hardly derailing anything. 20 people complaining about these few posts kinda is though. Not even to mention this isn't even the official announcement thread or the OT. We don't know if it's completely off the tables yet and speculating about it in a thread like this, is that really derailing anything? Speculating about something is hardly begging.

Should the mods just ban the word Switch from every thread that's not explicitly about the Switch because people get triggered by it?

People came into a thread that was about a Switch version of DBZ FighterZ and complained about port begging as well, it's hilarious.

Problem is I kinda proved the derailment of the thread with this post, but only because I answered someone complaining about someone mentioning the console that must not be named again.

It's a bit of a grey area in this case since the Korean GRB wouldn't include a Switch listing even if Nintendo's system was the lead platform for the rumored port.

This is making me wonder... Is Okami an MT Framework game? Or is it another engine entirely?

But PC version. Yes. Yessss.

People who go into threads specifically asking about/for ports, to complain about port begging, are derailing those threads. I'd say it definitely makes for far worse threads when they're riddled with people asking about a version of a game that isn't being hinted at or officially announced. Hell, I'm sure there are a couple of fairly recent threads where people with Capcom grievances can air out their frustrations.

Right, it's not officially revealed so I kind of get it, but even if it were an official reveal, I doubt the reactions would be any different. The original leak made no mention of a Switch version, however, and it came from a country where the Switch is available. It's possible for a late port to happen, of course.
