I didn't get to watch the conference what are the differences between iPhone 8 and iPhone X?
People say this after every presser and then they destroy sales numbers.Man, the real winner today is Android. And I say this as a long-time fan of Apple.
OLED is a substantial upgrade. I like the design for the most part (minus the notch). My current phone is on it's last legs. I'm paying for it with financing.
Because you don't actually ever pay a grand with contract prices.
I mean is he wrong?
They removed Features and it seems half-baked. If they really wanted to add some things like Fingerprint reader in the screen, they could've just delayed it. This is obviously a cash grab.
iPhone 8 Plus 256GB $949
iPhone X 64GB $999
who the hell is going to buy an iPhone 8 Plus?

Thanks for the hottest of hot takes.
lol. replacing fingerprint scanning (feature. not features.) with the most advanced consumer facial recognition is "half baked"... ffs.. this thread keeps delivering.
Contract prices with the X will be mental.

My S7 Edge is shitting the bed so that iPhone X looks mighty tempting. Or I could just grab my dad's old iPhone 6. lol
Apple have removed the 64GB version of the iPhone 7 from their store. Wooooooow.
Expecting UK iPhone contract pricing to be GBP65/mth for 20GB + a 256GB X on a 24mth contract for zero money down.
Did the 8 go up in price in the US? I thought our exchange rate had finished fucking about but seems not.

Apple just gave its competitors a huge opening.

Yeah, I was expecting better hardware in the X. It really makes the 8 plus look like the real winner in my opinion. Plus, the late release date is going to be a deal breaker for all the people on annual upgrade plans who aren't going to want to waste another couple months making payments waiting to upgrade.
I want an OLED screen but the edge to edge screen is completely killed by the notch at the top. Those full screen videos and games look awful with it. Plus, the lack of Touch ID hurts too.
Hopefully another year will get kinks worked out, touchID back, and I hope they rethink the notch at the top and make the top edge of the screen symmetrical next year.
Is this before the call contract?
TouchID will NEVER come back. Apple is too stubborn to bring it back after announcing FaceID as a "step forward".

care to elaborate? I mean it was a pretty shit conference but even after all that. I don't see what android is doing that would swing many people.
Yup.
It's not. My mother's S6+ is working great. How is that even possible? My HTC One M7 is working great. Is Samsung's forced obsolescence that bad?
Is there going to be an iPhone 9? Fucked up the branding?
I don't get it either. It's 20x more secure than Touch ID, looks to be faster, and somehow isn't good enough
What's the difference between 8+ and X?
I'm sorry but 64GB nowadays is completely and utterly unacceptable.
The phone was rebooted. You can't even use Touch ID when a phone is rebooted, you have to put in your pin. Someone fucked up the demo unit, face ID didn't fail. That fuck up with FaceID demo on stage ruined everything for me. What the flying fuck.
I was gonna get 256 X day and date but I don't know if I should just wait for next year now which will no doubt be better with rumours of Touch ID under glass coming.
Steve would have been pissed with how this whole iPhone X shit went down.
Then maybe compare to the iPhone 8?The difference in pricing between the S8 & iPhone X is crazy.
