I have a NES Classic that I play almost every day. I don't even have nostalgia for the original system, since it was before my time. Glad more people will be able to get their hands on a modern version of one of the best consoles.

I have a feeling when we see the Classic NES back next year, it will have removed the exploit to load ROMs. This I feel is the reason why they stopped production on it in the first place, to control the rampant piracy it was being used for. Letting people load their own ROMs hinders Nintendo's ability to sell future consoles with different ROM sets.

Sorry if it's been noted already, but isn't this news from NCL about Famicom Classic Mini?

Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I am aware, distribution of NES Classic Mini ceased long before Famicom Classic Mini did. Up until very recently, the Famicom Classic Mini could occasionally be found in all major Japanese electronic stores.

I'm pretty excited to hear that the NES Classic will be coming back. I wanted one so badly that I was damn close to paying a scalper. I'll now sit and wait patiently for next year!

On the one hand I'm glad I'll have a chance to get myself an NES Classic after getting two for my coworkers. On the other I don't really wanna compete with folks like this guy upthread calling someone a "delusional sack of shit." God damn.

Having a mini system that plays a handful of games isn't a replacement for a service where you can purchase and download many (as they're released). So no, this doesn't mean no VC for the Switch, nothing even close to that.

What it might mean is the death of the N64 mini rumor, considering that the factories will be busy with snes and NES mini

"Only" 30 NES and 21 SNES games being present on these things...not to mention the fact that we know they are working on a Virtual Console at least as part of the paid service...says that they'll clearly have one out eventually.

Depends on the supply really. They didn't officially discontinue the NES classic until like April, but I never saw one. Selling into 2018 means nothing to me.

They're coming with more consoles, but this will also be more popular.

Excellent. Way to not be stupid, Nintendo. Hope these little boxes are under a ton of trees over the holidays, and I'm glad the scalpers won't be the only ones celebrating.
