Xenoblade 2 is much closer to the first game than Xenoblade X. Takahashi considers Xenoblade 1 and 2 to be more story focused with a more linear structure and Xenoblade X to be more focused on open world exploration.

I mean, not a single zipper in sight and just some little straps on the boots, where they actually belong? Takahashi probably sedated Nomura.

X is better than 1 at everything with the exception of story, characters and OST. The thing is that the story, characters and ost were, precisely, what made Xenoblade 1 an increidible game and a classic. And in those aspects Xeno X was way bellow.

No, Nomura probably just designed it without belts and zippers, he's perfectly capable of doing so. There was an interview a while ago where Nomura basically said he kept going overboard with belts and zippers to trigger people because of the early criticism and him being the type to likes to push back when people are assholes to him.

I'm about to pre-order the special edition despite:
- not finishing XC1
- not playing XCX
- not owning a switch

also the pants/shorts in this game are the worst.

You're ok with not playing XC1/XCX, there's no real story tie ins per say.

I think it bodes well that he goes underwater to scavenge shit. At least this gives him some spine, which is more than you can say about most JRPG protagonists.

On the other hand, calling that Titan "gramps" doesn't give me much confidence, so who knows.

I know right? I didn't think I would need one but I do.

The voice acting doesn't do anything for me but I don't hate it. Definitely a step up from most VA work. I believe indifference is better then disdain.

Is there new footage for the game that's out that's not the same footage as we saw in the Direct? I see people mentioning that "new footage" is appealing to them but I haven't seen anything. That said, I was already on board for this game since it was first announced!

I managed to not watch the trailer during the direct but... wow it was hard. This thing was so long.
I'm already sad I watched a good part of the gamescom which was useless and pure spoilers almost.

Now just have to wait 2 months... for my RPG fix after 7 years (X or Persona 5 were great but it's not the same at all).

So looking forward to this! Think I might take a vacation day from work. Just so I can game all weekend.
I never buy CE's, but I love the Xeno-series so I might just get this one.

I should try and get back into XC1. That game was a blast, but loooong. Is the N3DS version good enough at this point?

Combat looks like a regression from XCX, but anyway I like XC/XCX mainly for exploration; I'm sure this will be another great hiking game.

I wish they had made a Pyra amiibo. And a Rex one too.
Just like I wanted one for Elma from Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Is that confirmed? I've played ungoldly amounts of XC1 and never finished it. I keep thinking they are going to hide a late game twist in XC2 to connect it to the first game.

It's always been a good port. Yeah, it has some graphical downgrades, but it's still a 100% faithful counterpart to the Wii original and didn't lose any of the scope in the translation.

X is a weird game. I put about 5 hours into it and wasn't grabbed immediately, but I know I want to return to it one day because I feel there's a great game in there. It's just so much more impenetrable compared to how quickly Xenoblade 1 gets going.

It really didn't look that complex. It basically looks like Xenoblade 1 with a path system.

Also I'm in the camp that thinks X's battle system is worse than the original.

Its definately streamlined but its not a regression. At gamescom nintendo made a video going really deep on the combat and theres a whole lot of stuff that you have to think about that you never did in X

I agree Xenoblades OST quite good but X's is not inferior, just very different with it's vocals and all. Just takes longer until it clicks wit you.

Yeah, X's soundtrack was a "boner killer" for me. Where Xenoblade had an extremely good & epic sountrack, here I was listening to music with some kind of rap lyrics(and I can't stand rap) while visiting the first hub. They need to go back to what made Xenoblade's music so good.

The charm factor in this game goes to 11. Dancing Cat Girl for the win. I wish they'd announced a Xenoblade console bundle (including a themed console, themed dock, themed joy con, themed pro controller, themed partridge, themed pear tree). I could pre-order that and just be done.

Oh well.
