MvCI DLC characters announced: Monster Hunter (F), Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Venom

They want that western audience with World.
Not a fan of the brief announcement either. At the very least they could have included an image of Monster Hunter's key art, since they must have that with her being in the story mode.
This was my guess, especially since it's the only explanation for the 4 Marvel/2 Capcom that makes sense to me.
Of course, that also suggests that Capcom either doesn't have a female character from their side close to completion, or perhaps in development at all. Which is bad.

Still can't believe Wolverine won't be in this. He's never missed a Marvel Vs game in twenty years. It's like a Mortal Kombat without Sub-Zero or a Street Fighter without Ryu.
I'm pretty sure I'll be sitting this one out until an "Ultimate" version next year or so. I'm just largely unimpressed by the roster, given most of my favorites like Wolvie and Doom are now missing.
I can only assume "we ran out of time" is the reason there aren't more.

It's certainly not because they don't HAVE great female characters. Capcom has one of the best women in gaming, many of which haven't appeared in the series yet. I'd kill for Regina from Dino Crisis or even Nilin from Remember Me or Vanessa from P.N.03 or Ada Wong from Resident Evil or countless others.
I can only assume "we ran out of time" is the reason there aren't more.

Probably knows they got it good since they finally have a budget to make Monster Hunter that is actually current gen.

They should have added Nina or Lady but I understand that it required so much time to make a complete characters.
If what you said about Black Widow is correct, then I guess they probably didn't have any female characters from Capcom side (like next 6 capcom characters).
Also it's plausible that they probably not able to finish one Capcom character by time so they probably have to swap the character with Black Widow. Yeah, basically I predicted next capcom character would have a complex animatioon and/or moveset so they probably held them off and work on it.

1 out of 6, and she was highly speculated anyway with the MCU theme.

Doubt we getting a female venom, but here's hoping for Patricia alt.
Patricia specifically because her venom form was pretty much the classic bulky Eddy Brock physique despite being an average build woman wearing the symbiote.
if the news was indeed true and not a PR fuck up (you never know with Capcom), and Widow isnt a giant troll and its the Slam Masters 2 Widow, the character screen is going to look weird very soon.

or we have the same 6 char row as the base roster but 4 marvel 2 capcom? thats also weird.
well hopefully this confirms at least another character pack I guess. Unless we get some freebie DLCs out of nowhere to fill up those rows, if they hit the panic button.

We'll probably get trailers closer to the release of each character, similar to how they do the trailers for SFV's DLC characters.

Man, if that's true, how messed up must the F:M ratio for the DLC be if when they needed to push up a female character from the second season to the first they didn't have a Capcom one.

aye my bad, I didnt notice the last paragraph when I saw the capcom unity article, since it was about the game coming out tomorow and had BP and Sigma pictures. That one is on me, even I fell for the "its easy to dogpile on this game" trap, damn :/
Honestly this makes more sense in that it'd mean 3 Marvel and 3 Capcom characters. This would be great as it would mean Capcom is going deep into their IP catalogue. Probably not gonna be the case though.

There's a .1% of it being that Black Widow.
The marvel name of Black Widow is too big for capcom to go "Surprise we meant super slam master's BW!".
Not even Venom has me hyped, man.
What's the point of Marvel IP if you don't use the superpowered characters (yes I know about the X Men thing) but fuck, add a Inhuman in there.
