I posted this in the other thread but I think they copied Paragon and then added xbox as a version but as crossplay hasn't been agreed then that version is on it's own island but in the PVP test they messed up the server configs.

Ok we know sony doesn't want cross play with xbox (cross play + cross buy works between the PS4 and PC versions), but who said sony was the reason it was taken out, some kind of glitch. It looked like a thing that Epic fixed, not something that sony told them to correct. The way you go about making it work seemed like a glitch also.

Im all for fuck sony in this but phil is a hypocritical ass considering they removed pc xbox crossplay and it was BECAUSE ms didnt want in.

As others have said, Phil Spencer will say anything nowadays. Yes Phil, we would have liked to see them leave it on too. Maybe this will put pressure on both sides to hash things out.

Nobody is denying that sony's stance is bad but youre ignoring the facts here and playing into the marketing team's hands. Fortite actually has ps4 pc crossplay, something that ms turned down with xbox pc and was patched out launch.
Its evident neither want to play ball with each other if it comes at the expense of their internal policies that we no nothing of.

Would be a big move for console gaming in general if Sony would allow cross play with Xbox and Switch.... I understand why they won't do it though.

But yet the game is crossplay and crossbuy between the PS4 and PC.

His wording is interesting... "I would have like to have seen them..." why isn't he saying "we told them to leave it on, we had no problem with it"?

I recognize how a consumer would want this feature but from a business point of view, I understand why they're not allowing it to be implemented.

Why would you allow your direct competitor to share your user base when you're the market leader? If Microsoft was #1, they would block it too.

They edited the microsoft part out of the patch notes. Who knows why though. Maybe ... well whatever I say would just be a guess anyway. Just like the "Thanks Sony" posts.

i do find strange their stance on Fornite considering that every other game can do cross-play, though (and there will be even "crossplay" between steam and windows store so)

This thread is already off to a great start, but I find it quite perplexing anybody is trying to put the blame on MS here or act like Sony is in the right, at all. Straight up no reason to be against crossplay other than fanboyism.

Yo if you're going to try to spin this as something MS did bad at least put some effort in. Right now this post just makes it look like you made that up and don't have the proof that you didn't.

Edit: I went through all of Fortnite's patch notes and in none of them do they even mention Xbox/PC crossplay, much less say that MS asked them to take it out.

Anybody who is playing the Microsoft and Sony blame game is missing the point completely. I have no loyalty to any company and those who do should re-evaluate your priorities as a consumer.
