What a time to be alive. I will have no RL after 26th of January anymore. Right in time before vacation too. I see myself playing 24/7 already, hiding in my basement.

"Please do your best to pre-order."
"Many articles will be written about this."

That was really weird. I'm willing to bet that Capcom has a LOT riding on this game selling as much as, or outselling, the previous games; I said in the TGS thread that I'd love to know what their expectations/wants are with MH:W.

Recent games have had monthly themed content drops. Expansions are usually a G version released 12 months after. No idea what they will do with World.

Dlc usually are free missions and cosmetics. Sometimes sub-especies that were only playable offline.
Tri also had some timed events like Jhen or Ala.

Expansions are G versions, where they add G Rank, new and returning monsters and new mechanics.

It looks fair. Interest increased.

Just got an email from Capcom regarding the release of the game in Europe. This is the gist of it.

Monster Hunter World available options in Europe

  • Pre-orders of Monster Hunter: World across Europe on PS4 and Xbox One either digitally or at participating retailers will receive access to special bonuses, including the Origin Set Armor and the Fair Wind Charm talisman*, which offer improved starting defense and offense stat boosts for the hunter as well as a useful gathering skill. Please check with your local retailer regarding which bonuses are available. Those who pre-order any digital version of the game on PSN will also receive a custom PS4 theme.
  • The digital deluxe edition for Europe includes the digital game, plus additional customizable options that can be used in-game: a Samurai Set skin, three gestures, two sticker sets, plus an extra face paint and hair style option for the hunter. The PS4 version of the digital deluxe edition also includes 14 weapon-themed PSN avatars.
  • The physical collector's edition includes a physical copy of the game, voucher for the Deluxe Kit (contains Samurai Set skin, three gestures, two sticker sets, plus an extra face paint and hair style option for the hunter), plus an art book, high-quality flagship monster statue, and soundtrack CD, all bundled in a custom collector's box. For European pricing, check with individual retailers.
*Please note that the Origin Set armor and Fair Wind Charm talisman may be made available through alternative means at a later date.

EDIT: In for the collector's edition as long as it's not absurdely expensive.

I feel like delaying the PC edition will hurt its chances to meet Capcom's sales estimates before the fiscal year ends, but we'll see how this goes.

Putting the figure size in mm to make it seem huge when it's about the same size as an amiibo, cool Capcom. And yeah, too much for my taste, I could do without the digital bonus stuff.
The figure on MH4's CE just simply sucked. Don't tell me they're falling suit with this? =/

Those dimensions are >4x the volume/size of most amiibo.

Cool, was wondering if it was JP only.
It looks like a pretty basic LE really, won't mind skipping it.

Would definitely get that special PS4 Pro if it was released in the west though, love it (and I still have just a regular PS4.

I don't really care about the contents of the collector's edition, but IT'S MOTHERFUCKING MONSTER HUNTER AND I'M GONNA BUY IT ANY WAY.
