I had this, but the character has been un-chained, on the controller at least examine the character with X then select Chain, this happened to me and I thought it was a bug too.

Nope it wasn't that because that's ALWAYS the first thing I check.

On another note. The ending was :) (also I walked right into that bad end and my face when it happened LOL)

Yea they went a bit overboard with the Glass Cannon nerf. I mean yea it was incredibly broken in the first game, but it's pretty awful in this.

My coop partner took it on both his mages and it's turned him into a liability.

Yeah, its bad.

And on that note so is the portrait bug after respeccing Sibelle.

He's not gonna be triggered into battle with teleport? Nice to know.

He didn't but Fane was as far away from him as I could to not risk it. Tried again with the magic vendor, it triggered a fight after Red Prince stop talking to him because, I think, Fane too close to him but I just escaped and then gave him 200 gold coins so he would chill out.

Speaking of companions, Red Prince, Ifan and Fane are my bros. Fane didn't want a serious relationship with my skeleton lizard, even after the Yuthul Gor Split, so I think he will pursue royalty next.

Is there any penalty for killing lots of people when cleaning up an act before you move on to the next one? I don't want to murderloot all of Driftwood only to have it bite me in the ads later.

Also, goddammn, I thought I was thorough, but there's so much stuff to do in this game.

When you steal from someone will they always try to search you? Or just for x amount of time?

They freak out for about 30 seconds after that they go back to normal and you can interact with them again. You can even sell them the stuff you stole.

Red Prince is my bro.

Also rolling with Sebille and Lohse while playing Fane. Didn't find Beast or Ifan nearly as interesting as the rest.

I'm playing Metamorph Red Prince while rolling with Sebille, Fane, and Lohse

Love the fire breath+oil combo with a wizard hydro-aero sebille to douse the fire to create mist for Fane to hide in and get close.

Absolutely love the mix-match playstyle. Everyone plays off one another.

I loved Pet Pal I met this shit talking crab today I was gonna kill it but it said it has source powers so I'm afraid it'll actually have them and wipe my party so I just took it being rude to me.

I love talking to the dogs this one in act one is super cute he gets really excited when you give him something and he's like oh I think I love you.

I'm at 30 hrs and I'm nearing the end of Act one
meeting up at the abandoned camp to fight the Shriekers, but I haven't been there yet.

I can't believe how huge this game is, knowing what I've heard about Act 2 being twice as big. I'm squeezing it like a sponge, draining it dry.

At end of act 1

How do I get
the dragon to help me in the Alexander fight?Killed the witch and gave him the wand. I've cleared all the shriekers already also. Does he not help?
?

Yeah playing from the start again I originally didn't take Fane or Sebille, and while I like Ifan and Beast personality wise and the interactions between their own races I find Fane and Sebille to more interesting and their origin quests. Lohse always seems like a must pick.

Act 2 where is this
tablet for ryker?
I found the room where there are
2 tablets of eternal
s on the table the mines but not the one he is looking for

That one stumped me too there is a chest in the room where you fought the
Eternal
I believe it is to the left when you first enter the room.

Still on the first island, but I got a question -
I'm playing on Normal, but had a real tough time with the guards in the prison. Am I just bad at playing/mismatched party/got bad gear, or are they supposed to kick your ass?

I think he's supposed to get rid of
the shriekers but you have done that already so...*shrugs*

Two times as big is a massive understatement.
Act 2 is huge. Even just looking at the map you can see its physical size is like 5 different sections put together. But its got layers, there are huge dungeons, underground section etc.

Its insane, i suspect act 3 will be a short affair like act 1. The game is really building it up.

Use stealth and kill the ranged ones first, then talk to the guard

Wait, it is possible to stealth kill the archers without triggering the whole room? How?

That´s what i did, but i only killed one of them. I just avoided the guard vision and went to the right. Then stealh again and talked to the guard.

Still having tons of trouble with the combat. I can't tell if there is a very specific way to build your team, or equip your characters, but for the most part it feels as if most combat encounters are unwinnable. Even when you are the same level as the enemy you are facing, they seem to have far better skills and do more damage. On top of that, they seem to outnumber you in most encounters.

But, like, they got armor and tons of HP. Are you saying stealth kills are always one shot kills?

jesus christ stealing is op

Do I need high sneaking as well as Thievery? I respecc'd out of Lucky Charm in favor of Thievery but it seems like even with Invisibility I can't open the inventory on vendors for more than two seconds before I get exposed.

Also, what's the definition of "sourcery"? Like, I can throw fireballs and cast healing magic and shit, and there's an enemy that summons hounds. But I cannot summon my dog yet, because that's the bad kind of magic?

Crowd Control and High Ground is a must, examining Mobs to learn their Resistances or weaknesses helps too.

Just spent the last 90-120mins fighting
Redaka the witch
(act 1) and it was exhilarating. Great dialogue. But an awesome fight.

Felt impossible to begin with but ended it without losing a single person or using resurrection scroll. All by approaching the fight differently and using physical summons to stack that as the enemies had less armour than magic armour. Focused the strong minions first.

This fucking game.

Now I get to go
guve the lovely dragon his soul back

How the hell do you combine blank skill books with scrolls in this game? Doesn't work like in the previous, and I have a few spells with blank books of the matching school that I can't seem to use...

edit: It looks like the lower levled spells combine just fine, but those aren't worth caring about at this point anyway. I have a few higher level spells (that don't use source points) that I can't seem to combine yet and I haven't seen them for sale on vendors yet.

This. The key is to learn the weaknesses of the enemies and play off of elevations/height advantages. Playing in a group that plays off one another is also very important. Your team should check your weaknesses and you should check your team's weaknesses.

Having 1 range, 1 mid, 1 cc 1 support is the default solid build. I have seen builds that are hyper-offensive with 2 range and 2 cc, but they don't do well if they get caught off guard. Same goes for builds that are too fragile with 2 range 2 support/3 range 1 support. Team building is another layer of complexity outside of character creation.

It all comes into play when you realize how many possibilities there are during combat. I.E: (said this earlier) I play Metamorph Red Prince who defaults to Dragon Breath and have my buddy playing Aerotheurge Sebille on standby to put out my fires with rain to create steam that my other buddy playing Rogue Fane can hide in when he bounces into the steam for an attack and then back out for Sebille to electrocute when the ground gets wet the following turn, leaving any survivors for me to pick off with Bull Horn Rush.

Later on, getting skills like Flight or Teleport really allow you to take advantage of the map, forcing you to analyze the terrain style, the layout, the height, the distance, and the resistances of your enemies. Tougher foes will have resistances to everything/armors/shields for everything, so getting Pierce abilities or Armor burn/steal abilities will help a ton.

This game is fucking amazing.

Anyone know what the large Divine Order key opens?

Got it from
The fight you have when you help Paladin Cork when the Magister is trying to keep him from leaving inside the fort.

Has anyone not opted to pick fights with every single Magister in Fort Joy as soon as the collar came off? I'm unchained, baby.

I don't even know if the other dialogue options result in fights anyway, because as soon as they give me lip the sword gets drawn.

So one of my friends says Tactician mode is really difficult but rewarding, while others say it's straight up broken.

Weird question, but the only other game I can remember where people were split on the difficulty was XCOM 2 on Hard+, so how does it compare to that?

someone, please help. what's a good party setup for beginner? I'm so so bad at this game. pretty much died for every combat encounter. I'm trying to restart the game again and see how it goes this time.

I want my main custom character to be either a fighter with sword and shield, or a knight with 2 handed sword, the guest character I'd like for my party is Red Prince, Lohse, and Sebile.

should I just leave them to their default class? but then I don't have dedicated healer and dedicated offensive mage. and is having both a knight and fighter in my party redundant? what should I change Red Prince into?

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Man I finally had a good quest fight where everyone survived and I feel like I fought intelligently. Minorish act 1 spoiler
Fought Griff and his goons after refusing to give up the thief.
Feels goodman.
