Giant Bomb |OT32| I've been meaning to love a boat

To be fair, both Oxenfree and LiS talk about sex and depict drug use.

Shit, Oxenfree is great. They actually added stuff to it? I thought there was NG+ stuff already.

Giant Bombcast 499: The Huge Dudes
Ben and Jason gives us a deep dive on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, we try to shake our endgame Destiny 2 addiction, the words "Grand Theft Auto VI" are spoken, and Tokyo Game Show looms!

Wow investing is complicated.

Stick to Index Funds. The rest is all just smoke and mirrors to make people money selling books and advertising. Like really, unless you have a background in Statistics or Finance, you have very little chance of making any money. Professional hedge funds have even been beaten by just putting your money in an index fund. If the pros can't do it, you really can't.

As for terminology and concepts stick to investopedia. You should put your money in, and only peek at it every couple months.

That opening to LiS is reallly bad though, I was cringing the whole way through. The DnD section was awesome though. I honestly think this game is a better LiS than the first game: it manages to capture what made that game truly good without a lot of the cruft and issues. Makes me very excited to see the direction DONTNOD takes the sequel - hopefully this awareness comes from them and not the new developer.

I think Oxenfree has references to weed but they were vague at best.

I'm projecting to some extent my own experiences where my fellows were doing opiates, ecstasy, and other such things regularly and dealing with early alcoholism but I'm sure many don't experience such things or aren't aware of while in High School. But even still teenagers are generally mean in a way most people aren't and a universe where they aren't depicted as cursing assholes is odd to me lol.

And all games I feel like ignore early sexuality which is understandable in a content sense but not realistic at all given how my teenage years went and even those who weren't part knew they were happening

Hell, every rich school in the US generally has major coke dealings and you'd see that every day.

Currently trying to remember the plot to Destiny 1...... did it even have one?

Like did it have a middle and a end? Did it have Motivation?

I remember the black garden was a bad place and Rasputin was a thing. And that nameless guardian eno gives you a shitty gun in the ending.

Maybe because I was a dweeb hanging out with dweebs but I didn't really encounter any drug stuff at my high school. Not even weed.

Sorry to hear that.

Back flips and bioforge

The Halcyon UPF is always a classic.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Had to put down my feline best friend of 21 years. Even though I knew it was coming one day, it still hit like a ton of bricks.

Maybe I lived in degenerate hell while in High School.

I'll admit I've never really met others interested in games or dated anyone who gave even the slightest shit so it's always been an interest I don't discuss because I know people don't care lol.

Welcome me to the fam, GBGaf.

Pickup tomorrow at Best Buy.

I will call it a gift to thyself for getting my new merchandising route. Plus, this is basically a one paycheck purchase to me. Gotta love full time work.
I just got one this past week as well. Was surprised at how tiny it all is.

I'm holding off on a pro controller because of the price, but man does joy con and grip feel really small and cheap. I'll probably cave when Odyssey comes out or whenever I decide to pickup Splatoon 2.

Same as Antiwhippy here but I knew my classmates (it should be noted I was at a public school where my graduating class was only ~150 people) were definitely drinking and smoking pot (of course) but I never heard of anything wilder than that.

Also one of the characters in Oxenfree is stoned for most of it, but I think they eat the edible offscreen?

I might be wrong but it wasn't there originally on PC. They added it when they launched the PS4 version (so that always had it).

Nah i think i just somehow managed to slip into the most straight edge life ever.

I mean i went to a design and liberal arts college and somehow managed to avoid any drug encounters without even trying.

Does anyone remember a twin stick shooter type space game where you could jump into larger ships and blow them up? It suddenly came into my memory that I had wanted to play it but I forget the name.

I've had mine for three weeks (I think) and I've gotten used to the joycon grip

kind of wish I could just use my PS4 controller but it's fine and it didn't cost an extra $70

What are some opinions on Oxenfree?

I vaguely recall Alex talking about it.

It was okay, but I found the writing to be what people accuse LiS of sometimes - way too writerly and full of fake teen speak. Like everyone in that game talks like a Joss Whedon character or something and they also come off more as college kids than high school teens. Also at the end of the day it was a pretty tropey plot. But it had its moments, I liked the protagonist, but her male friend was insufferable. Worth playing I think.

Going to Amsterdam with my girlfriends whole company tomorrow and she's pleading with me not to take my Switch for the flight lol.

Genuine question: index funds lose money if the stock market dips or crashes right?

As much as I love my switch I hate the charging and battery life. In intensive games you get two and a half hours of battery and then it takes 3 to 4 hours to charge. Have never docked it but I'm also not really interested in doing so

If we're talking stocks, can someone explain to me why Martha Stewart went to jail?

Because she perjured herself.

She participated in insider trading, for sure, but it's the lying that did her in. If she'd confessed immediately it would have been a slap on the wrist and zero jail time.

I only use my Switch with the joycons connected to the screen or split, and that works so well for me that I don't even know why people pay for anything else.

I also almost exclusively play it in bed though.
