So this would be much better to do than trying to port KH3?? Guess they have to still focus on the other versions first
Might as well also port the HD collections, after all who the hell knows when KH3 will finally be reeleased.

It's more clear with Capcom considering they're re-releasing games on newer hardware that came out on past system weaker than the Switch, and yet the Switch still isn't getting them.
If you compare it with other AAA games like Ass Creed Origins or SW BF2, there's clearly more technical limitations that come into play. But there's nothing actually stopping Okami or Dragon's Dogma releasing on Switch other than Capcom.
LOL!
Although being fair Square leaving Nintendo in the 90s was way more than just cartridge sizes. It was also the cost of producing them and Nintendo being assholes with third parties back then. But you already knew this.
Define way more. The shade that Switch owners on this site throw at Capcom is insane, when they're no worse than most big publishers save for maybe Bethesda and Square Enix. The support will come. Capcom is not an edge case.
I seriously doubt they're going to stick with Luminous considering most of their other games are UE4. They all but admitted defeat that Luminous was a failure.

Yes, but Switch will no doubt get it's own 5th Generation game. It's all hands on deck at Capcom for World's launch, but they're not so stupid that they'd completely abandon their home market. Patience. The Switch is barely 6 months old. It's just unfortunate that the Switch released so close to the announcement of the next big MH game, so news on what's coming after that won't be ready to share for a while.
no they havent?
there is no information to even suggest this to be partially true
Come on, at least read up a bit on the matter. The engine wasn't far and mature enough at that point when development on FFXV and KH3 had just started and the FFXV team wouldn't have had the time and ressources to simultaneously assist the KH3 team on the engine usage so they decided they would make one game with the engine first and then use it for other stuff after it proved itself and is more mature. That's something other studios did too, like with Frostbite or Fox Engine.Except for the fact that no other game uses it and at least the Kingdom Hearts Team had trouble with it.
That UE4 quote... Gimme KH3 on Switch.
While I don't necessarily disagree....
there is no excuse for Mega Man showing up.
Audience is there, it really can't need that many resources...
Hell in the last one is still the Nintendo logo at the end
Should be easy to compare.
S-E:
- Dragon Quest X (upgrade promotions from Wii and WiiU versions)
- Dragon Quest XI (nobody knows yet if it's a port or another version)
- Dragon Quest Builders 1 (old port) and 2
- Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2 (port at launch)
- Fear Effect Reinvented
- I am Setsuna (port at launch window)
- Lost Sphear
- Spelunker (new version removing the F2P limits)
- Re: Legend
- Seiken Densetsu Collection
- Project Octopath Traveller (exclusive JRPG by the Bravely team)
Capcom:
- USF2 (enhanced port of an XBLA game at a way higher price)
- RER 1&2 (port announced after the Switch started to be successful)
- Monster Hunter XX Switch (basic HD port and japan exclusive despite having most of the localization done)
- nothing else announced yet.
But sure, we could also compare with Ubisoft, Koei Tecmo, NIS, 2K, and other publishers. Should be easy too...
Their relationship truly coming full circle. The irony of Square willing to roll-up their sleeves to put FF into a small cart isn't lost.
Except for the fact that no other game uses it and at least the Kingdom Hearts Team had trouble with it.
See, looking at that list, I can seldom think of another publisher who has pledged as much support as Square Enix. Namco Bandai's support so far is comparable to Capcom's, and given their presence on 3DS, it's just as mindboggling I think.
There is no excuse for a few snes roms to skip the console, especially at that time.Capcom of all people must have known that even on a failed console, the megaman audience is still the biggest on nintendo consoles.Waiting until 2018 for them to arrive is bullshit.Bizarre, well and truly. If things are still looking like this as we move into mid-2018 then my opinion will change significantly.
I'll be shocked if Square remakes FFXV twice.
My money is on them loudly commenting on how hard they've tried to get FFXV running on the switch for another few months then announcing a port of Pocket Edition in January or so.
KT for one.Bizarre, well and truly. If things are still looking like this as we move into mid-2018 then my opinion will change significantly.

I honestly think KH might be a better fit. You could get the HD collections going, then start porting 3 as it develops. I think the scope might be easier to handle than FFXV

They already have realised it, in fact. Games like FFVII, KH3 and ptoject Octopath Traveler are all developed using UE4. This would complete the transition to full UE4 (although Tabatas next project is said to be Luminous as well).I think they are seeing the ease and potential of the Unreal Engine compared to their own Luminous. I know bigger companies don't want to give a slice of the pie to Epic for using it, but from everything that has been said and done with regards to Luminous and UE they may realize they could be far more productive with an engine that allows them to scale games properly.
I hope they stick with UE4 for a while and get really used to it. I think they could make some awesome games with it.

KT for one.
Fair enough for the first part, but it's already worrying enough as others pointed out. It's worse than the Wii tests, and there's no ports that should have been no brainers, be it recent or not.
Namco is a bit weird right now, but has still done more, and also announced Taiko, Tales of, and more.
Lmao no it wasn't where you get this false hyperbole fromi guess? it ran extremely poorly on PS4 even but it's a big title so i suppose it's worth taking a look at
From the sound of it, the option of the mobile version being what the Switch gets is in the same position as the last time he brought it up. They still haven't considered it and would have to gauge the market to see if there's a desire for that version to be on the Switch.Def still think we are getting some fucked up mobile version compromise. Barf.
That UE4 quote... Gimme KH3 on Switch.
Sounds ambitious. But honestly, I think porting the whole game to UE4 is probably not going to happen. I think what would make more sense for S-E is a mid-tier spin-off project exclusively for the Switch with some assets from XV ported to UE4 like character models and textures, but with newly created material better tailored to the Switch hardware. The game already has trouble running on even the vanilla Xbox One, though that could be the fault of the luminous engine. I'd still say an Unreal Engine 4 based spin-off with some assets from XV would likely be faster, cheaper, and much better suited for the Switch hardware than trying to port the whole game over to a new engine, then port it over to a less powerful console.
It runs fine on Xbox One, which doesn't have the frame-pacing issues of the PS4 version.
People thinking UE4 is going to magically make the game run better than the current version on Luminous, let alone run the game better on Switch... UE4 has its own performance problems on Xbox/PS4.
A UE4 open world game (ARK) with similarly dynamic lighting and weather on PS4 runs at 640p on base mode, max res of 720p on detailed mode, constant tearing, fps dips to 20s, noticeable object pop-in. The normal mode on PS4Pro even runs at a locked 720p.

This just seems like Tabata throwing out a bunch of various options that they have. Would be interesting to see them downscale the game on UE4 for switch but considering their focus is soon to be on the next-gen console cycle, I expect this to go the same route as Tabata's talk about XV using Just Cause streaming tech.
I'd rather they'd try the VII remake. that's already in UE4 no? Why go through all that hassle and using resources on a game that is already out instead of trying to make a game that's highly anticipated and not out yet work.. I don't get it. Almost Capcom levels of reasoning.
VII will come to Switch after the Sony exclusivity deal is over.
