Given the DBS references in the game, the story being set either during or after the Future Trunks arc sounds more likely.

They've shown with 18 that they could change outfits during the cutscenes for Story Mode...
Also, DBS Trunks is better than Z.
It would be odd to go with the old Future Trunks costume then.

SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta are separate characters with different moves.
That's not what I'm talking about though. I'm thinking of something like Mr. Karate for example. Technically a different character, but takes up the Takuma slot. Isn't there a rumor that SSB works in a similar fashion?

Super Trunks is as different from Z Trunks as SSB Goku is from Regular Goku in terms of movesets. So it would work

Just thought of something dumb on how to make non-fighters as fighters like Bulma, Future Mai or Baba,etc. Make someone use the Dragonball and summon Shenron in the story mode and wish for them to be powerful enough to defend against the androids invasion/resurrection or whatever the story is.
I feel like we aren't going to get a non fighters like Bulma with made up move-sets since every characters in the game so far reference something from the show.

If anyone has time to kill, we have a fun little concept video for Goku Black by IKevinX as to how his moveset might look like if (and possibly when) he is confirmed.

Characters with a lot of source material will always take priority over non-fighters.
I agree the tweet is a bit depersonalizing but I doubt there's any mention of stuff like that in the game itself. It's fine. Hopefully her character will be good and represented well.

Hmmmm I'm gonna have to go with Trunks', because it was unexpected for little me.
I went into the episode knowing full well we were gonna see an evil Goku, so that took away the excitement

Goku Black has been a topic of discussion ever since the game was announced.
Originally, the discussion made sense because we didn't know if they were going to include Super as part of the game's story/character roster. But now that we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Super is gonna be in, OF COURSE Black is gonna be in. Only question is base roster or DLC.
But despite this, people keep saying that technically Super isn't being considered, that all the stuff can still be traced back to Z and stuff to which people hype up Black and post that gif and that Zamatsu gif and that Goku and Zamatsu hugging gif I think I've seen it a million times why do people keep posting that gif we get it he's cool.
I mean it's technically still POSSIBLE that this might be the case. But considering that's not how Arc Sys typically handles characters + the fact that they're unlockable separately from playing the story mode and stuff + the fact that they got a separate reveal and gameplay trailer leads me to think that they're their own characters.
Plus with how animations work for GG Xrd I doubt they're gonna put in that much effort for characters that ultimately amount to "different versions" of the same character, they're probably gonna want them to be full fledged characters and treated as such.
At this point I just want him announced to cut the overuse of Goku Black gifs altogether.

Not really. The current gifs generally always come up in the discussion of Goku Black being in the game, which regurgitates itself every 3 or so pages.
