Zack Ryder got himself over on YouTube and they didn't do anything with him

What value was it Ryder had getting over on Youtube? It didn't make a difference.

The fans didn't do anything with him. They tried. Simply weren't enough of them.

They probably thought giving him a story with Cena was a good idea

And then

Is it a double standard? It was a thing for so long. "Well Cesaro just needs to be given a chance" and he was given multiple chances, yes one of them being his four ropes. And he was unable to connect with the audience.

Vince himself said Cesaro was almost there, but something was missing. The folks watching the podcast at home said THIS OLD MAN, HE'S AN IDIOT, CESARO IS A PERFECT TALENT

But...Cesaro was missing something. He wasn't wrong. I couldn't put my finger on it, but he wasn't connecting. Vince wasn't wrong.

And honestly, I don't appreciate you telling me to fuck off. We're discussing wrestling, not something important.

It's a colloquial thing, the talking point is what should fuck off, not you.

Jinder has been given a relative eternity to connect and draw. Jason Jordan has been given a relative eternity to draw. They gave up on Cesaro in two weeks flat. That barely even qualifies as a college try.

Cena said a lot of the same things he always says about the talking and I come away with mixed feelings on a lot of it. His bootstrapper mentality strikes me as someone who's been on top for so long that he's out of touch. His stance that he doesn't bury people also struck me as him being naive. Oh the reason you flounder after a feud with John isn't because it made you look like a fucking joke, it's because you didn't try hard enough to keep that fire going after. Every time John talks about burying people I immediately think of that one image of the entire Wyatt family destroyed hanging off the cage.
Yep, you totally didn't make them out to be jobbers. They just didn't try hard enough. The roster doesn't take enough risks? Have we forgotten how in February that Braun got chewed out by Vince because he said the words "title shot" instead of "title match" at an episode of Raw? This is an environment that encourages risk taking? I don't think so.

When is Samoa Joe coming back? Is it when Cena leaves for Transformers? Convenient...but smart.
Joe vs Cena would be a great match but with the way most Cena feuds nowadays go, I hate to see what the feud would be like.

I'm just imagining Joe cutting an amazing promo on how he's going to beat Cena down and end him while Cena does his big smile to the crowd while talking an improvised line at the end of every line Joe says.

"You ain't even the strongest Samoan on this show!"

"You just a second-rate Tazz!"

"I work hard!"

Yuck...Sounds about right.
"I guess you can finally make an IMPACT here, huh Joe?"

He's injured, right?
Allegedly.
Yes, he's injured.

THE GUY

I think the main reason why Cena's words are hollow is because we've already had someone say the complete opposite of him. And unlike Edge or Cena, who are essentially boot lickers, Batista has always been a pretty straightforward guy. And if the dude who's basically the next biggest star after Cena in the past decade and a half tells you that times today are very different from when he was there - the time Cena went to the top in the first place - it's obvious it has little to with stepping up. He was only there for 3 or so months in 2014 and noted that restrictions were a lot heavier now.

Booking and talent are a collaborative effort. It doesn't matter how talented you are if the booking doesn't follow through. Hell, both Strowman and Styles are perfect examples of this.

Styles was floundering in his first couple months when he was feuding with Jericho. I remember because even I thought he was bland and boring. He then got one big feud after another back to back with Reigns, Cena, and Ambrose, where WWE made a concentrated effort to make him look like he mattered. He wasn't being beaten like a nobody, and that was all she wrote. Of course, he also impressed, but he wouldn't be where he was now if Reigns, Cena, and Ambrose all pinned him one after the other.

Strowman was busy bending jobbers over backwards, and was still a bore, until he started breaking Roman Reigns in two and all of a sudden, he seemed and felt a lot more important. Because he in a feud with the top guy, and not only looked competitive, but looked like he was near impossible to beat. His only defeat essentially booked as a fluke by Reigns capitalizing on a mistake.

Yes, it's up to talent to deliver, but it's ultimately up to the creative team behind the scenes to handle most of the presentation. Granted, not everyone will be that guy who can survive at the top, but it's not like they've been giving everyone the kind of push they gave to Sheamus and Del Rio. (Relentless booking for two guys who ultimately were still midcarders in terms of how they felt.)

Some of these guys (Styles, Strowman, Joe) have clearly shown they just needed that elevation in terms of presentation. I don't expect any of them to be replacements for the top guy, but they absolutely can be mainstays in the upper card. And really, that's half the battle won for the product. You don't need just one guy at the very top. You can have that, but also another dozen guys who are all appealing because they're not used as fodder for the top guy to run through on a monthly basis.

This is kind of why I feel they made a mistake with not sending Balor to SDL. Jinder is obviously a short-term thing, whereas they could've used these past six months into cementing Balor as a top talent. That would just be one more guy with credibility at the top, and he's bound to be around a few years yet.

Hell in a Cell GWF Tag Team Championship Match

Beefy is banned from ringside! The grudge match from the hottest feud in the GWF tag division. This time there will be no outside interference and everything goes in this tornado tag match inside a Hell in a Cell

Main Event Part 2
Hell in a Cell GWF B+ Championship Match
Tall4Life vs RBH [C]
The latest, and potentially final, chapter in what has by some been considered the greatest feud in GWF history. These two have crossed paths multiple times dating all the way back to GWF1, with Tall4Life winning the first two confrontations at GWF1 and GWF4 respectfully. RBH planned his retaliation well, however, first by interfering in Tall4Life's GWF5 match. Following that, RBH's first victory over Tall4Life ended up costing Tall4Life the GWF B+ Championship in a triple threat match at GWF6 when RBH pinned the champ clean in the middle of the ring. Following a title defense against Syder at GWF6, RBH and Tall4Life will once again renew their epic rivalry this time in the confines of Hell in a Cell.

Side notes
-- This match card was written up about a month ago but got postponed for life reasons. Since I was originally wanting smaller and more frequent shows, that's why the GWF World Title is absent from the card
-- Main event for GWF9 has already been determined to be Professor Beef vs BewareTheBatsie
-- Tall4Life and Beefy are the last former champs who get rematch clauses
Theme for the event.

What are cell matches even like in 2k17?

I've noticed in the ROH era there's never been as many "oh hey, there's a PPV tonight" reactions as there have been during this year of Cody-headlined shows
