For those not keeping count at home, that's 14 new games announced this week which ties it for the busiest week since I've been doing these logs. Overall, just from the start of July we've seen 53 games announced for the system. That's pretty good.

Just wanted to let you know that I highly appreciate this thread and I always come back to it when thinking about future Switch games.

Next on the list for me will be Sonic Mania, followed by Mario & Rabbids and Rayman Legends. I really didn't expect that I would be playing games on the Switch non-stop from launch day...

Yeah, the releases schedule has been great. I don't believe there's ever been a point where I didn't have a few new games to play.

November is pretty bare for the Switch. I guess they will announce a game sometime this month for the holiday?

Yea, Nintendo done a great job early on spacing releases to ensure there was a quality title, whether indie, first party, or traditional Third Party to ensure there was always something worth checking out. Now the releases are picking up its hard to keep up with everything.

We don't have release dates for everything yet. I think we still need dates for Skyrim, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Xenoblade 2. I'm sure there will be some other stuff releasing in Nov as well.

Somewhat off topic, but why the shit does Nintendo sell their gift cards in such weird denominations?

Best Buy only had $35 gift cards... like why?

That Fire Emblem Warriors date is specifically for Europe but I'm leaving it here, just for now. Don't be surprised if it changes.

I also unbolded Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, since the digital version hits next week and the physical in October. I'll bold it then.

To say this was a big week would be an understatement. The Nindies Direct had a lot to do with it.

Excellent thread!

Just checking: Is there an equivalent EU thread? The overlap for eShop release dates probably is something like 95% between NoA and NoE, but quite a few retail release dates seems to differ a few days.

Not that it matter that much, this will serve its purpose nicely even for available EU releases.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I’m glad there are people that genuinely find it useful.

I actually had to split up the sections into individual posts because it’s getting so packed with games, out now and coming up.

This is the only Europe thread I know about. I’m not sure how up-to-date it is, though.

I'm curious if the'll be a Mario & Sonic Winter Games this year. (The Wii game was released in October 2009, the Wii U game was released in November 2013.)

That's going to be brutal for my wallet. Doom, Xenoblade, Mario Odyssey, Resident Evil, Skyrim... and i still need to get Mario + Rabbids.

Even if there have been signs since July that Nintendo opened the floodgates a bit more, September seems to be the final confirmation.

The month of September, with one more week remaining:
* Seems to end at around 10 (total) more Switch game releases than for any previous month
* Seems to be the first month that gets an average above 1 game release/day
* Will get 2 more retail games than for any previous month (this specific point isn't necessarily about opened floodgates, since retail doesn't seem to go through the eShop curating process)
* Will get more total game releases and more retail releases than compared to the whole span of April+May+June

And BTW: And thanks to chronomac for maintaining this thread! It's quite invaluable to have resources like these, when the number of future game announcements become overwhelming.

Any chance we will see NEW Super mario bros 1 and 2 on the switch? Recently got a new 2ds but want to consolidate my systems. These new mario games are great even though I'm LTTP. Would also like to see more 3DS ports like the Castlevania games, zelda's and animal crossing.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but can you change your field of view from 1st person to 3rd person for Skyrim?

Subbing this thread. Just bought a Switch today and the indie digital releases are way more interesting to me than the AAA stuff.

So both Deemo and Superbeat XSonic in the next week. Which one to choose ?

And Super Beat Sports is October 12, if you want more rhythm games:

Make sure to subscribe to the monthly eShop threads as well, maintained by tolkir. That's another good news source for eShop releases (since most eShop release dates often are announced very late). The September thread is here:
