Switch handheld mode Grip/Case

I don't typically endorse an item, and I'm sure no one here knows who I am, or cares. That's all cool. But there's a grip/case that has made my Switch so much more comfortable to hold. Here's the amazon link:

You can't put the switch in the dock with the case, but it's easy to take on and off. It's a non-issue for me because I never put my switch in the dock and have USB C charge cords everywhere in my house.

Lol everyone always gets so mad about referral links and forgets / doesn’t know that NeoGAF auto applied a referral link.

Also, this case basically turns it into a Wii U gamepad shape, which is kinda funny. But if it works for your play style, cool!

I have yet to find a decent one of these that has separable joy cons. One broke and the other didn't have buttons for unlocking the joy cons.

I like it! But I do wish that there was a way to protect the front of the joycons as well. I'd buy it instantly if there was.

I've never had to take off the joycons so this works just fine for me.

Someone in Amazon Mexico is selling it for 33 dollars even though you can get it for 5 in Aliexpress, shipping included. Oh, boy.

I actually have been looking forward to this, but a few folks are saying the ZL and ZR feel awkward with the case.

If I link to Amazon I usually just put the english words:

All the jibberish at the end means someone "could" be getting a cut of the purchase from Amazon
He's clean, jesus

stop calling people referral shills if you can't tell apart the normal tags Amazon uses to track your browsing habits from referral tags

for your health, referrals have tag=xxxxx-20 in the URL somewhere

How do I do that? All I did was go to my purchase history, click on the item, copied the web address and pasted it. At the end of the day, all I wanted to do was try and share a cool product I got.

Some people are paranoid imbeciles.

Don't worry about it, OP. I've been looking for something like this. Do you also have large hands? I need something to make the Switch more comfortable to hold.

Thanks. Yeah, I have large hands. Like someone else said, it does make it feel like a Wii U gamepad, except, somehow better. Maybe because the grips on the back are more pronounced.

The one I linked doesn't have any ZL & ZR issues.

That black blob on the ground is my fat cat.

I literally was cleaning up today and picked up the wii nunchuck and said to myself it be amazing if the joy-cons felt like this.

Referral link, let me guess you got it 'from another forum' like everyone else that gets caught.

Jesus christ this place can be toxic sometimes.

This actually looks really great OP, handhelds are often a little uncomfortable to allow for better portability, so grips are almost always an upgrade.

I should look into getting something like this. I think my one major complaint about the Switch is how uncomfortable I find it to hold for long periods of time.

Not a huge priority, as I'm a 90-percent-docked type of Switch owner, but definitely something to keep in mind.

I'll give it a shot. Ordered it alongside a cable so I can extend from the dock and not worry about taking it on and off.

For $10 this is an instant buy if it can relieve my hand cramping in portable mode. Is it easy to take off for putting the Switch back into the dock?

EDIT: Nvm, says so right in the OP, lol. I'm sold then. Even if it doesn't work well for me I'm only out a tenner.

I preordered the GripCase from Indiegogo, I'll let you all know how it is if it is actually shipped by the end of the year lol

Is this a gel grip? I like the idea of more comfortable grip but it seems a hassle to take off and put on. Soft gel for the joycons though does sound amazing.

Anybody have any recommendations on how to protect the front of the joycons? It's all I need at the moment.
Have you checked Amazon recently? The switch accessory section has grown in size recently.

No, it's not gel, but it is sort of squishy.

I backed this one, looks very promising and it's surprisingly cheap. They're sending out regular updates and so far it looks like they can deliver on time.
They had to rename it from "Switch Case" to "Grip Case" for copyright reasons.

I needed to get a case for better grip because my hands are getting numb even aver somewhat short play sessions.

They will also sell it on Amazon sooner or later but if you're feeling adventurous. You can still get in on the Kickstarter by sending them a message or a mail. Thy are usually super responsive.

I've been using the grey version of these for a few months, can highly recommend;

You can't see it in the picture but they have a rubber bulk at the back that gives more grip room for the hands, and since it only covers the joycon it doesn't block the dock so you never need to take them off.

Did the OP change the link? If not, some users in here made themselves look pretty stupid.

The link in the OP is not a referral link. Such links would have "tag=AMAZONPARTNERNANE" in the URL. The "ref=" is added automatically if you just searched for the item or if you found it on your Amazon main page. Only Amazon earns money through that.

Does it get slick since its glossy plastic?
I'm sorry, I can't answer that. I've only had it for 2 days.

That’s at least somewhat ergonomic. The one in the op looks hideous, why just a bump at the bottom of the grip??
When you hold it, it makes sense why the bump is where it is. It looks better in person, but I guess that's just my opinion.

Where did you get these from? Any pics from the side or back?

Got it from play Asia before they were released in the UK, they're pretty easy to find on Amazon and eBay now. :)

Found this pic that does the job I think:
pdp-switch-joy-con-guards-640x508.jpg

It's a very snug fit around the buttons and sticks, they hardly slide around at all.

Personally I don't use the analog stick caps but others may find them more comfortable.
