Yeah, I'm not advocating for a ban on the game's discussion here (and even if I was, a mod has chimed in on that so it's completely irrelevant) so we're discussing two different things.

And yet another thread where a number of posters' opinions could be boiled down to "fuck you, got mine". It's astounding what people will give a pass because [reasons]. Yet every two weeks we get a thread about why video games have a negative stigma and/or image problem.

It doesn't how much or how little money Jontron has already received for this, by buying this game anyway and not giving the developer the opprobrium he deserves for keeping in his game a known white supremacist you normalise racism and show that you believe that there should be no negative consequences for those who espouse those views and for those who associate themselves with these people. Good job.
As for the idiotic "bet you've bought games that racists have worked on" gotcha, when these hypothetical developers air their views publicly on social media, Youtube or Twitch and the company they work for doesn't fire their ass then we can talk.

I think its meant to be the other way around, as publicity for the game itself, as in "check out this game with your favorite Youtuber in it"
I mean if you know nothing about the game you're not gonna care about checking out a single name for a bit role in the credits
The developer not saying anything is at best a tacit approval of the things Jon has said on the grounds of not wanting to lose sales from Jon's fans who would boycott if he were removed. As somebody who would like people in the industry to speak up against issues like white supremacy, I'm not buying the game to let the developers know that there are consequences for supporting this shit as well.
As others have stated in this thread, if that's the measuring tape you'll take with you, we're all fucking hypocrites for supporting any company ever.

Well, it was either going to be us or the alt-right that ended up giving the game shit over whatever they chose to do with Jontron's involvement. There's no real way out for them in terms of backlash here. The best you can hope for is that the game can weather the storm regardless of what they choose. Personally, I would want them to get rid of his racist ass and I suspect future games will want nothing to do with him no matter what happens with this.

That seems unlikely. His channel is already huge and more popular than the game, and the shithead can barely pump out any content and hasn't done gaming related stuff in ages. I'd be very surprised that someone manages to find Jontron solely because he had a minor VA in a indie game. I mean, if you already heard of him, knowing he's on a game won't make you any more likely to go watch him, and if you don't, how do you even discover him by playing the game? It's a throwaway role with crappy voices. No kids are going to go scout the credits page and see it was him that did #NPC Voice 3 and go subscribe to him.
