i'm 7h into Divinity 2 and i'm starting to get parts of that game, which also tells me I should probably start over and I don't wanna do that so i'm in quite the pickle

Puppeteer started off strong but it kind of lost its luster for me after the first world. It felt like the next few levels didn’t go as far with art style and the “theatrical” conceit as the first did.

Persona 5 was probably my disappointment of the year but it’s still a Style shoe-in for me. Oozes it out of every pore.

(...I’ll probably default to cheering for Nier and NitW in any categories they’re up for.)

What a glorious achievement this game is. Top 5 of this year, EASILY. There are a few minor but annoying things about it when it comes to the completionist in me. Like, the ranking you get after each boss is kind of luck based depending on how the fight goes because you have to parry 3 pink attacks at the very least(to fulfill an aspect of the high rank checklist) and sometimes a boss would never do a pink colored attack because it depends on your run(the phases are randomized). So, even if you were to beat a boss quick you'll probably get lower than an A- if you didn't get the chance to parry 3 times. By and large though, this game plays superbly well and looks unlike anything else when it comes to video games.

I really wish the game was more my kind of game. It looks so fucking amazing but I'm not big on that kind of platformers and I don't necessarly like overly difficult games in general so I know that I shouldn't buy it cause I'm not gonna play it.

Now if only they made a game I like with that art style... I dunno.. maybe a Metroidvania or something else...

what i'm saying is avgn fans seem to have a higher tolerance to dumb shit than rick and morty fans which says a lot

I think I agree with you after playing the second one that I originally skipped. I've gotten a LOT more frustrated with those than the boss battles.

Also, glad I went in to this blind. The transformations in phases are really something else :)

EDIT: To touch on Nier's OST, I loved it, but 70% of it was just remixes of songs from the first game. All the epic ones, at least. I listened to that a TON though, and it's more remixes in the sense that most of the way the songs are written are exactly the same structurally and chord progression wise.

The robot village theme is GOAT though.

it's probably because i watched an LP of Nier instead of playing it, but I only really remember a few songs from it really - Song of the Ancients, the first village theme, Kaine and Emil's themes and Yonah.

also i'm gonna buy this LG G6 I think? I've been tossing it up for a week at this point and I should probably pull the trigger eventually cos this lack of memory on this 6P is doing me in. Really should've sprung for the 64 or 128gb version

There's like 4 remixes from the first game lol

There's so many great tracks in that game. Can't think of a single dud tbh.

I kinda actually liked the protag for Ultra Despair Girls, perhaps that game's only redeeming element

Hmmmm.

Let's just say that I have very mixed feelings with how the character is treated even though I think in the end you still come out with a better character than 1 and 2.

And that's just from trail 1.
