Here's some guys overreacting to not getting any sauce by jumping on the counter:

Makes me cringe and want to punch the dude at first. But the more I watch, the funnier I find it. Especially that run in the end. I think he was doing it for the clicks.

But still, this whole situation is stupid and I will never understand the lengths people are going just to try some lousy fast food dipping sauce.

I don’t really watch R&M so I wasn’t planning on going to this, but I ended up taking my brother and our cousin to one of the participating locations near us since they both watch the show. We left at around 1:30, thinking there wouldn’t be many people, but there was a huge line once we got there, and some police cars as well. My brother and cousin jumped out of the car to get in line while I tried to find parking across the street at a small restaurant, but one of their employees who was standing outside turned me away saying that people were getting towed for parking there. By the time I finally found parking in the McDonald’s lot, the police announced that there was no more sauce left and that they were gonna start towing people who parked outside of the McDonald’s lot. We ended up just going to Five Guys, lol

I want to watch the show eventually, but man this fanbase is kinda weird. Never thought I would see people line up for sauce, lol

I mean, you were part of it.

Looks like Black Friday came early this year. Something about limited one-time offers turns people into animals. Fuck McDicks corporate for subjecting their minimum wage employees to this shitshow.

Ok, seriously there are people actually blaming Rick and Morty (the show) and saying they aren't going to watch it anymore?

How can a show be responsible for some of the stupid people that watch it and call themselves "fans?"

Do you stop playing Playstation/xbox cause both of them have some really really crazy fanboys and people who go to absurd lengths for launches or black Friday sales, etc?

I can understand being appalled at how some people reacted to this whole thing, but it makes no sense to actually try and blame the show for how people behaved as though the show is somehow responsible for how people act.

Also not all the fans behave this way. Why is it being made out to be this way.

On the primetime rant mindcontrol scale, going to McDonalds to get some free sauce ranks pretty low.

I had fun in line and the sauce was unique. I'm gonna get some real Sichuan sauce to compare, but that's probably like 100x spicier.

you actually ate it? Well, there goes your kid's college money, hope it was worth it at least

I watch Rick and Morty and pretty much ignore/gloss over Internet discussion as I do with most shows. The only thing I see on social media and forums, other than folks saying the show is awesome, are people complaining about Rick and Morty fans being obnoxious. I never actually saw said fans, I'm sure they exist, but from where I'm standing, it's not the fanbase that seems annoying.

You say in a thread about Rick and Morty fans rioting over a McDonalds sauce.

After reading a little about this debacle, apparently the sauce is just a variation on teriyaki? Seems a pretty simple sauce that anyone could make themselves. And why is it called Szechuan sauce when teriyaki is Japanese and has no connection with Sichuanese food or ingredients. Was it a numbing spicy variation?

That's not the point. The point is that their fictional role model is obsessed with it and so they have to be obsessed with it, too.

I'm too lazy to grab it, but McD posted on their Facebook page they'd be bringing the sauce back this winter at more locations/every store.

I think someone in this thread mentioned this was intentional; make huge amounts of hype, understock the sauce and cause potential outrage when there's not enough and then bring it back by the end of the year.

All Rick and Morty fans hate all Rick and Morty fans.

Just like Rick hates himself.

It's fitting.

They wanted to see how many people would debase themselves first.

This just makes me embarrassed of liking Rick and Morty. Seems like a terrible fanbase.

I mean, they even ruin the one liners and jokes of the show by just being obnoxious and running everything into the ground.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Huh one reasonably near my house is going to have it.

By the way if you think this is your only shot, note that the actual recipe has been reverse-engineered if you really have to try the flavor for yourself.

That's just teriyaki sauce actually, lol.

Start with a reduction of soy sauce and white sugar, add your preferred spices (and if you want, vinegar i guess. I always found it to be superflous, honestly), and go from there. I'm so addicted to teriyaki that i've started buying 20lt restaraunt-sized soy sauce containers.

Worst fandom confirmed.

Impressive when you consider the Dr.Who, Steven Universe and Harry Potter fans*

*and Bronies.

This is exactly it, they milk the living fuck out of every single line to the point that it's no longer funny anymore. I understand that people can really get into a show and enjoy everything but there's a limit, people seem desparate to try and turn every little thing in the show into some epic meme.
