If Kuzma doesn't start soon the coaching staff is gonna get a stern post on neogaf from me and I mean it.

Can we at least TRY this???

Ball
KCP
BI
Kuzma
Lopez

I want this line-up to at least get a shot on the court for a few games. If it doesn't work, fine. But after the funky line-ups I've seen recently I don't see why they can't give this a chance.

Yeah, the rebounding might be shit, but the floor spacing and cutting on offense should be solid. The individual and team D should be solid too. The only hole is the rebounding... I can live with that.

I'd like to see this as well, but the defense is still going to be really, really bad. There's really no lineup the Lakers can trot out there where that won't be the case.

Philadelphia center Joel Embiid has agreed to a five-year, $148 million designated rookie scale max extension, league sources told ESPN.

Embiid is a top 10 player in the league when hes healthy... the problem is thats never. I can't believe this happened though. Thats a lot of shirley temples

That's a lot of moolah right there. God speed 76ers, who knows maybe Embiid will get over the injury hump like Curry did in his career....

Good Luck.

Oh boy.

76ers should have waited until Joel Embiid played most of a season, have they not heard of Greg Oden

Its not like he can go anywhere right now, why not wait

makes sense that the reports of Embiid not playing due to contract disputes was real

I wouldnt be surprise if this has a injury clause in it

Sixers protected themselves somewhat.

"Sources: Joel Embiid's 5-year extension with 76ers contains guarantee of approximately 50 percent of max $148M salary, w/ super max trigger." - @ShamsCharania

wait teams have been able to guarantee less than the full contract this whole time?

I agree with this premise but think this was a great signing. They wouldn't have found a better use for that money.

Still you'd think they'd be able to get -some- kind of discount for a guy who hasn't even played half a season worth of games yet.
The only reason it could be a great signing is if the guarantee thing Charania tweeted is true. If they just gave him the full max a year before his RFA then it's a really dumb and unnecessary signing.

+/- stats with the Sixers, when Embiid is on the court, they are +3.2 per game. The next best Sixer was -2.8

Embiid can score as well as boogie, and is literally the most efficient defender in the league if he plays.

He is the best Center in the league when he plays.

Most places are reporting there's some type of monetary protections, but based on how the NBA salary cap works it still counts against your cap.

Does this mean the Sixers no longer have the cap space to extend Robert Covington? If so, what a horrendous decision.

no, they definately have enough money to resign him. JJ Redick, Amir Johnson, Stauskas are all off the books next season which opens up another ~36-38 million

Sixers have plenty of money.
