Is there any way to beat Fenrir if I have no real viable Ice-based SBs?

It's possible, I finished farming Fenrir under 1 minute with no ice SB's. You can get away with a non-elemental team if it's good enough.

I was looking forward to the FF15 banner, but now I think I'm going to skip it. I pulled Noctis SSB on the soundtrack banner and Iris BSB in the fest. That's only two dupes but I feel like they're the two best items. And Aranea is a cool character but already having Kain BSB/OSB and Lightning-everything, I don't know when I'd actually use her.

I was going to pull on it but my lightning team is so stacked at this point the only thing that would really help me is Noctis's LM or SSB. Also less in need of Astra now that I took Larsa BSB from CT.

It's a solid lightning banner with some other nice relics on it, though.

This reddit thread gives timing tricks. Start casting wall at 8.3s then arise at 9s. That gets you past the first one at least. Sounds like it is about learning those timings. Though I feel the mechanic is just there to make farming a bit less consistent (like say paralyse on liquid flame is). I also wouldn't be surprised if some of the ability cast times are a bit different so the black fang timings are not 100% the same every run.

I'm personally far from unlocking Dark or Holy magicite as I am struggling with the three I have remaining and it turned out the lightning clear I got was a fluke (saved the team and tried again but keep failing). Time to drown myself in water and fire magicite I suppose.

I should've brought Cyan instead of Mog, because as I figured out in the D250/D300, Draw Fire + Retaliate completely neuters 80% of the damage that the boss + adds put out.

Attempting to chase Strago's BSB (which I didn't get) and Shadow's USB (which I did get) ended up with me having 3 fully kitted out FFVI characters (Sabin, Shadow, Setzer). Needless to say, this was super easy for me.

The Grenades are just as annoying as in VI, with the tendancy to Self Destruct at the slightest touch.

I ignored Dr. Mog's advice on leaving one add up for the boss.

Yeah Grand Delta hurts. RIP Shadow.

Too lazy to change between D200 to D250 and D300, I shoved Tyro and Eiko in called it a day.

Tyro was the MVP. As I said above, using Draw Fire (Draw Fire/Gaia Cross/Divine Cross) with Retaliate (Retaliate/Demonsblood/Smouldering Moon) ruins the damage output of this boss. You only need to worry about his super weak AoE Bio spell.

Shadow was still near capping damage, despite the boss being Dark resistant.

Sephys BSB2 is great. Dark clone of Cloud's BSB2 (EnDark entry, 5 hit cmd 1 based on Atk, Dark Bargain AoE cmd 2.

Galufs is amazing sustainability. Both commands are standard multi hit ST/AoE but with a %heal attached to it that heals the lowest member.

The plus side, you have one of Angeals only relics.

The bad side is that Angeal still is one of the 2 remaining characters that doesn't have a BSB, even in Japan (FuSoYa being the other).

Dorgann BSB - Happy with this, Earth isn't one of my stronger elements.

Reno SSB - The AOE sleep/silence one. I'm actually pleased with this, obviously situational but can come in handy. I know I've RW'ed it in certain past boss fights.

Some old-ass Sephiroth SSB - I guess it's +10 ATK for Sephiroth.

Dupe Bartz SSB.

No Force Stealer or anything, but it could have gone a lot worse.

God this Larsa vs Fujin for crystal selection is annoying the crap out of me.

Larsa is support 5 and a Wrath/Entruster with Astra Medica BSB seems like an amazing combo with the current meta. The problem is that I already have an Astra Medica with Iris and I already have all the top tier Medica BSBs.

Fujin is a rare magic/res debuff and quick attacks. I don't have her enWind though and I have a ton of FF8 magic throw weapons.

Also on the side on the side you have sarah bsb which would be nice to have a magic blank attached to a medica.

Onion Knight BSB is still one of the best buffing soul breaks so that's a solid basis for a party. Ingus's BSB is solid; decent earth damage and good for tanking.

Essentially, yes. They tend to attach the lucky banners to the quarterly (or so) seasonal events and the monthly dungeon updates, but sometimes there are more. The regular-price banners are attached to the weekly events and have specific relics, so you can target specific characters in those.

I really like the Elite realm dungeons that are like in the 150-200 difficulty range. They're not a cakewalk so you actually have to plan your team and pay attention, but they're not so hard that you're forced to bring only your top-tier specialists. It's like a chance for the B-team to come out and show their stuff.

I had a lot of fun this time around by going pure CM for each dungeon. Luckily, I have strong synergy in each of the 3 realms. Meaning it wasn't a chore but was still more engaging than stomping everything with an A-Team.

Realm updates are a chance for me to grind RMs for new characters, since most of my stamina nowadays is dedicated to Torment farming and brining the best of the best to then for maximum efficiency.

Exdeath SSB - Eh... I mean, it's something I don't have.
Luneth OSB - This is a rather nice pull considering I have his BSB.

Luneth and Sephiroth are probably my strongest DPS's right now. Yet (call me crazy) they still probably won't replace Cecil and Refia (both BSB) in my A-team.

Like, my Cecil has his age old BSB but he is such a reliable character (knight skills) that I rarely have any need to replace him. I mean, I only sometimes beat an Apocalypse match and I already figured Torments are just too much of a hassle. Nightmare dungeons are my current level.

Do you have a character you just prefer using despite having more/better stuff for other ones?

I’ve been finding the hard dailies are tricky to clear if I’m not paying a lot of attention or I get unlucky. I figured I’ll rush to get tyros rm3 so I can get yshtolas asylum up off the bat. I just egg’d and mc2’d tyro from level 30~ with the expectation that it takes a while for his rm3 to drop. Two battles later the rm3 drops!! Praise rngesus. My problem now is that I’ve got a lvl 42 yshtola with asylum but no eggs to do mc1 lol

Guess I’ll try to find some low level dungeons that drop eggs to get this out of the way. Great game so far

Shantotto. Lighting chain is great cause of all the abilities that use that, even machinists and dragoons can get in on the action. I have rikkus usb and lmr so she can hammer away with those shots really pouring on the damage.
