When the thin outer circle shrinks into the colored circle, just press the appropriate button. It's a really generous window timing wise so there isn't a ton of precision to it

So far haven't seen any of these pre-rendered cutscenes that couldn't have been done in-engine.

Sure some of the effects may have had to been toned down but I'd be willing to make that trade.

Hell, they even have some in-game "cutscenes" so the engine obviously supports camera tracking and all the stuff required.

On another note, I really like the main theme song for this game. It's growing on me.

Nothing like
spending hours recruiting legendary followers to have them turn on you at a later time. The sad thing is that they wouldn't let me recruit them anymore after betraying me once, so I had to kill them and collect their legendary gear instead. I hope those spending real money to recruit legendary orcs won't have that happen to them because that would suck big time.

Next time shame them, the perk that protects them is called Iron Will or something and can be deleted by shaming them.

When does Act II officially start? When you reach the second are? Or will I know for sure, will there be a big shiny banner that says “Act II”?

Would love to play this game, but my original X1 can't seem to install this game from disc. Installation stopped x 100! Tried clearing local saved games and offline solutions, but no luck.

There are cgi cutscenes such as the intro or the Shelob memories but majority of the cutscenes seem to use in game graphics and assets.
I have no i why these are not rendered in real time since now they just take way too much space and it always seems a bit jarring how your outfit changes from cutscene to in game.

I believe so. There's a special screen for each Act.

I remember that there's one at the start of the prologue and Act 1.

Just finished Act 1.

Tbh I think people that say the story is bad are... crazy. That was pretty fucking awesome.

ALSO my Nemesis FOLLOWED me from another region. He ended up being a boss in one of the final story missions of Act 1.

Another hunter-type follower tracked me all over the map. I led him out into the wilderness and we dueled and I finally took him out. Fucking epic.

Question, the loot boxes you get for gold edition and preordering, should I hold off opening them to a later act? I noticed in the MP the buyable ones mentioned something about act 2.

The Nemesis system in this really shines. Been playing an odd game of cat and mouse where one Orc ambush assassin just attacks me when I go after other captains. Really makes me change my tactics on how I approach caotains because the guy can jump out of no where.

Can anyone confirm if this game still has the stealth gameplay from the first game? All the gameplay I've seen so far seems to be all fighting, all the time.

It's definitely there in the story missions and open world. You can apply stealth to pretty much everything to varying degrees of success.

Can we turn off orc intros, slow motion kills, and just general fuckery that interrupts your control and gameplay?

Look, it's fun seeing this stuff from time to time, but I don't need to see all of it. I was defending my fortress from an orc invasion at one point, and I had to sit through three overly long captain intros before I could start fighting them.

I had this problem in the first game. The game is trying too hard to impress. At some point, I just want to play the damn game.

If you want you can go around stealth assassinating/dominating almost every orc in the area before tackling captains. You can play how you want really.

Even during captain fights I often still dash off out of line of sight on roofs and ledges and do stealth attacks on the captain or stealth health recoveries on nearby orcs.

Orcs are blind as bats, you can stand in front of them and still call it stealth. So yeah it's pretty much the same as the first game.

Good to hear. Was a bit concerned it was just Arkham-style combat all the way down.

Thanks.

I really really hate the spear throwing guys. I'll be doing great countering and killing in a pack of orcs, when all of a sudden my health is flashing. Because the whole time I was fighting two spear jokers in the corner were hitting me. I feel like there's very little feedback that it's happening.

The camera is so damn zoomed in you can never see them either. Then it breaks up the flow of combat when you have to mash A in their direction jumping over all the orcs in the crowd to get to them. If you're quick and have the elf shot you can shadow strike to them sometimes. Even so, they just feel like an annoyance. They're extremely damaging and frustrating but once you get to them they're pushovers that aren't really satisfying to kill.

However I also feel that without these guys I would basically never die to anything except strong or multiple captains. It feels like annoying difficulty spikes when these guys are in the mix though.

Damn, that's great to know, thanks. Was worrying about putting in legendaries because of this xD

I guess you could argue for better preparation of the area before tackling something, assuming you have that option but then again sometimes a captain just comes with his own band or summons some I think so that's not always an option, if you aren't just getting ambushed out of nowhere unprepared to begin with but then the added difficulty is acceptable as a consequence of that I'd imagine.

PS: Does anyone know what the game classifies as a 'Hunter'? Had a quest to kill 3 of them in a certain region but I couldn't figure out for the life of me what to kill.

That is the best thing ever! I want more Orc dialogue!

True, it just gets a little hard to scan each area and tell the different types apart. And I always miss a few.

Hunters ARE the spear throwing guys. I found this in a wiki that describes the different types of grunts.

http://shadowofwar.wikia.com/wiki/Uruks

Spears are Hunters, Shields are Defenders etc.

i just realized that all the loot boxes you buy for real world money in exchange for Legendary followers can be killed by both the single player component and multiplayer. can anyone else confirm?

So I went back to that early cave region after taking the first fortress in act 2, decided almost immediately without any dominated captains to just take on the fort, the warchiefs were already dead, presumably from that story mission earlier in the game. Wierdly the fort went down no problem, I just got in, solo captured the points, and got to the boss chamber, I wonder if it'll be taken back easily, because otherwise that was WAYYY too easy.

Do orcs spawn indefinitely? I'm having a hard time fighting captains because of the constant flow of new orcs. Can I actually clear some space where I don't have to fight countless waves of them? Thanks!

Haven’t played this game yet, but that was a little annoying in the first game too.

Those Orcs are amazing!!

There was an orc titled I think "The Unmovable" he kept defying death. Ever time I finish him gets back up and kills me. Then he was titled "The Unkillable", I couldn't kill him so I shamed him and his title changed to "The Unashamed" then he still killed me and was like "You shamed me and I still killed you. What does that make you?" lol! He's getting on my nerves!

I also died to one and he took my sword and broke it in half! WTH! I didn't have another sword so I had to fight him with my original low level sword.

Make sure to disable the alarms first.
