Gran Turismo Sport demo coming Oct. 9

IIRC, that is the amount needed to download in order to make it playable. My download bar was showing that and the full ~50 gig download before I left.

Clubsport V3's? Going to wait on some reviews on the CSL vs T-GT before making a decision. The V3's are better pedals by far, but would like to know the differences between the wheels.

Just get the PS4 starter kit directly from Fanatec. Its fantastic value for money if you can afford it. You get the basic pedals for 20 bucks and you can always upgrade to V3 pedals later if you want. But the basic CSL pedals are pretty good as well.

The CSL is a very good wheel, I'm loving it so far in PC2 and F1. I obviously haven't tried it in GTS yet but if the implementation is similar to the other titles it should be great.

I have tried the TGT wheel at Gamescom with GTS. Its a good wheel, felt smooth to drive with great FFB. But I'm not sure its worth 300 more than a CSL. In my personal opinion they feel very similar in quality so I am happy with my choice to not wait for the TGT.

I am running a full Fanatec setup with GIMX and a DriveHub. I compared both (GIMX and DH) in the beta and both are using the G29 FFB instruction set for GT:S. GT:S does not (yet) support the new PS4 Fanatec CSL natively. Both workarounds are okay after some tweaking. Since the Fanatec wheelbases have the more powerfull motors, the effects that GT:S sends to a "G29" are way overdone. On standard settings it felt like wrestling an alligator instead of holding a wheel in a car with tons of clipping. I had to turn it down to about 20% in the wheel settings and the lowest in-game settings to make it usable. I found no noticeable differences between GIMX on a Pi3 and the DriveHub.

If GT:S ever supports the new PS4 CSL set it will be possible to use the Fanatec specific FFB instructions through the DriveHub's Fanatec to Fanatec compatibility mode. I don't know if the GIMX guys are working on something similar but it could be done with GIMX as well.

If all you are doing is GT:S or PS4 racing in general and you have the cash for a Fanatec setup I'd rather go with the Thrustmaster GT. The Fanatec setup would only be justified if you are using it for PC sims primarily or if you really love tinkering with A LOT of settings.

I am thinking of getting a T-GT myself just for GT:S. Having THE supported wheel with everything specifically and exclusively tailored to it out of the box by the nutjobs at PD must be special.

I have a G29, I've had a go on the T-GT. I want a T-GT.

Still can’t decide whether I should go physical or digital.

Better incentives with digital, but nice steelbook and GCU discount with physical.

What did you think of the depth feedback that they added specifically for GT:S on the T-GT?

i'm thinking of paying an extra ten bucks and going with the steelbook only because the boxart of the regular edition is so awful.

As a long-time Forza player, what sets GT apart? I've never owned or played a GT before.

-Are there sedans?
-Better customization?
-Full weather settings?
-Different tracks?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Online matchmaking, an almost neurotic attention to detail, different focus (racing v. CaRPG, the genre it founded).

In the past they were pretty much the same genre but right now Forza is a car pokemon game that's more arcade, and GT Sport is an online racing game/simulator that's attempting to be more serious about the competitive aspects.

GTS has a safety rating that pretty much eliminates all intentional "destruction derby" behaviour in online races, which already sets it hugely apart from Forza 7 multiplayer.

y'all should be ashamed
Man, I remember being in the beta earlier in the year and thinking...there’s so much terrible online lag, there’s no way this is going to work. Cars were skipping and jumping around everywhere.

What a huge improvement the demo was. It’s like it was a totally different game. I had zero lag on all my matches.

Yeah I've played the demo and was impressed, the next gen racer photo thread shows Forza and this in really good light but that gif looks awful for some reason, bad walls/cars

Here's a (probably) dumb question. I need to free some space on my PS4 HDD. Can I delete the demo/beta and still get my progress transfered into the main game next week?

Japan sales estimate. Seems like it will be on par with the GT6 (204K) opening.

How are historic GT numbers in Japan? Because PS4 was not released in Japan when GT 6 launched, so the situation in the rest of the world is different when it comes to GT 6 sales comparison.

Yes.

Hey everyone, heads up, but I'm seeing the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT is $100 off for $299 on Amazon and B&H (tax free). It's not usually this cheap, and works on the PS4 and PC.

Also at Best Buy. They typically don’t have any in stock at the store but you can have one shipped. The only reason I mention that is it might be easier to make returns at a brick & mortar.

So European players will have to wait October 18th to play, even if they purchase digitally?
? Digital always play after retail... you have to wait the official countdown with digital while retail you play as fast as you get the copy in hands (even before release date).

Huh, nice. Surprised they're doing store sales right before the game launches. I'm not aware of a new one coming, besides that $800 monster they showed off in the Kaz with Lewis Hamilton video.

.

GT 1 - 2.6M
GT 2 - 1.7M
GT 3 - 1.9M
GT 4 - 1.3M
GT 5 - 800,000
GT 6 - 590,000

That's life time sales for Japan, but should give some idea.
