Technically they are still publishing it. Nintendo is just handling the retail release, which probably means that we won't see the same price decline as with other Bethesda titles.

Considering how much time Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Xenoblade 2 are going to take, at this point I'm almost hoping for an early 2018 drought.

Really wish the digital version didn't require me to download like 30 gigs of multiplayer crap that I'll never touch. Only reason I'm not buying the game.

It's the same (well ok, the same at half the framerate).
The only difference is that with Switch you can play Doom everywhere you are.

Holy cow! November is packed with games! I'll still play Mario Odyssey in November and then there's Doom, Skyrim, LA Noire, Sonic and I'm still occupied with Golf Story, Stardew Valley and Xenoverse 2 lol


The Switch has no games right?

I guess it will have more games in March 2018 than Wii U in his whole lifetime.

Oh good lord, this is going to be a very expensive November with Sonic Forces and now Doom :(

And the game looks damn fine on Switch :O

It can be pretty fun if you're looking for some classic DM/TDM. I can't think of anything else on the Switch that scratches that itch.

I was sure this was going to release in December or January. Much closer to Super Mario Odyssey than I was anticipating. Super excited for this!

seen the thread title and thought is was old doom 1 and 2 getting announced for switch, felt a little let down when i realised it was the latest one.

Can you imagine doom 1 and 2 on the switch with the ability to download WAD files?

It seems clear now that Nintendo intentionally left out November for first party (Switch) releases in order to let third parties get some of the holiday sales rush. Hopefully that works out well for everyone.

Fuck I thought this would be a December release. First year of the Switch is insane. I’ll probably wait and get this at Christmas to give myself time to play everything else and give me other games to play at the end of the year.

Pretty sure? I know the physical version it is, but I got the impression that digital you're stuck with having a multiplayer mode I'll never touch as large as the rest of my library combined. Bugs me on the Steam version too, constantly getting 25 gig updates for something I never launch.

If the MP holds up, I'll buy digital. I enjoyed the MP on the original release, but it wasn't engaging enough compared to other multi-player experiences on those respective platforms. But fast paced frag matches on the go sounds wonderful.

If the MP is shaky due to performance or netcode, I'll wait a little while and buy a physical copy for that sweet box art. I don't think we can go wrong here-the campaign footage sounds solid to me.

Loved Hugo's call out to Doom 64 in the developer interview. I really hope we see that game on the Switch at some point.

Huh? Has there been new footage?

The footage from the developer interview in the OP isn't from the Switch version as far as I can tell.... also it looks fantastic.

The pricing is way too high, as is Skyrim's. These can be found on other consoles for less than half the price, so you are just being greedy. If they end up underperforming that price is to blame, not the "lack of interest" from Nintendo's audience.
