Purely on aesthetics, of course. US one looks like your typical tanky mechwarrior robot. Ugly as sin but probably way more practical than the Japanese one that spent half it's design budget on shoulder pads.

I'm also disappointed that nobody has posted any 'robots falling down' gifs in this thread.

na It looks like if they actually fought it would easily tip over.

The designers of the USA Robot should have consulted Anime Mecha experts, thank to their knowledge they already have assessed how the fight will go and USA Robot have a fatal design flaw and it will tip over, USA team should have battle tested this thing or hire an Anime expert.

If fighting robots ever do become a thing, the designs will look a whole hell of a lot closer to the USA's than Japan's, that's for sure.

Also, USA! USA! USA! USA!

I don't think I've ever been so excited for something.

G Gundam is finally happening irl. And just like G Gundam, America's gonna get bodied lmao.

Albeit the robots look way lamer, but hey that's expected.

So.... what are the rules of the duel?
Three transformation sequences and three pilot hidden strength awakening moments allowed per side.

Seriously though, I'd like to know too. All I know is that it's fought with paintballs or something.

In the Reddit thread, an engineer from the megabot team gave an impromptu ama. The duel already happened about two weeks ago with little fanfare. The twitch steam will show the edited version of the fight because it took over three days.

A sad shame we haven't been able to get the magical number 5 for optimal mecha synergy. Baby steps.

And they're not paintballs, they're Prefabricated Anti-Interception and Thermal Ballistics

3 days

What? We're REALLY quite a bit from the G-Gundam stage.
