I'm about to order the game, but I feel somewhat lost among all the different versions.

I'm looking at their website and it's quite overwhelming; 9 different editions with their own set of bonuses, including pre-order bonuses, Day 1 bonuses, region-specific pre-order bonuses and so on.

Are any of these bonuses obtainable in the normal game, or are they completely exclusive to these editions? Not purchasable in any way?

Nice, that's good to know, thanks.
All the cars you can get in game.

My steelbook version arrived from Amazon and I've never seen one of these with a massive crease down the middle :/ The entire case is curved down the middle cause of the huge dent in it. The disc was fine so I played it anyways but I hope they will take it back since I opened it. The packaging was useless for a steelbook.

This game is bordering obsession-worthy for me. The tension in some of the daily races is great, and I feel like the game is doing an excellent job of matching me with folks that are roughly the same skill level as me.

I've always been a single player only guy in "casual sims" before this game, and it was a complete "sure, why not" moment that I dove into the multiplayer in the demo/beta last week, and I came away quite impressed.

I'll state again that the lack of a more structured Career-style singleplayer is a bit of a bummer, but I still think the possibility of most the event types that would have existed within a career-style mode are still around for the player to engage in, so I find myself mostly having a good time with single player as well -- I'm absolutely not 100% playing this multiplayer. As it stands, the high tension I can feel in multiplayer is extremely energy-draining after a few races, so I'll usually race 2-3 online races and then swing on over to Scapes, work on completing Arcade single events, or hop over into "Campaign" and make progress there in one of the three subcategories.

It's a different Gran Turismo ebb and flow for me, that's for sure, but I really like it. Straight-laced online has often felt a bit too intimidating for me in the past in these "casual sims," but now that there a bunch of actual rules and mechanics present in the name of fairness that seem pretty effective so far, I absolutely love that it's a present and fleshed out feature of the game.

It all wouldn't mean anything if the core driving model didn't feel good. I generally think it feels great, though coming out of recent incursions into Dirt Rally and Dirt 4 makes the rally racing feel a bit weird. I was a big fan of the rally racing back in GT3, but that was a different time, and GT Sport's simulation of rally racing in 2017 feels a bit ... simplistic, for lack of a better term. It's nuanced and can be enjoyable, but my idea of how a videogame handles/simulates rally racing is definitely tuned more into the recent Dirt games and it's been a bit difficult to adjust my thinking in GTS when I hit the dirt.

In any case, GT Sport doesn't feel like it is going to work for everyone, but I'm certainly glad it seems to be working for me. Its presentation feels more celebratory of its subject and culturally grounded in a positive way than most videogames of any genre (it doesn't lean in on the "extreme sport for adrenaline junkies" take and it doesn't feel stoic and museum-like), the handling hits just the right expectations (with a few assists enabled) my casual brain has for how vehicles control, the multiplayer suite seems to address literally every point of intimidation I've ever had with online racing and bolsters a pure and exciting focus on fair and competitive racing... And from all of the communication about Sport that has occurred, right down to its "Driving is for everyone" mantra proudly featured in its intro, it feels like it succeeds at exactly what it wants to do.

I'm just a few steps into GT Sport's waters right now but this absolutely has potential to be one of my favorite games of the year.

Has anyone seen any tire marks or burning rubber smoke? I see it in the Sunhi's nonononoooo -gif, but havn't seen it in my game...?

This is my favorite.
“Oh no, no no no no!”

Noticed the mirror are actually perspective correct in vr mode really impressed

Resolution is quite low especially compared to vr 2d of course even

However looks amazing especially dim light and night

Reflections run at half framerate in vr I thank in the car bodies

Mirror reflections at full

Headlights due to low resolution in vr are more flashy like in gt5 or 6 rather than regular mode gt sport

It would be super cool to have vr control in 2d mode with the headset because of the much higher rendering resolution

Overall super impressive though total game changer for racing ps5 gt can't come soon enough

We made it boys and girls. Quote this post if you want your PSN in the OT for GAF GT Racing

Call me crazy but I'm starting today and planning to opt out from importing online save/open demo progress. Want to start from scratch. Is there even an option for it?

The downtuning is really unfair (until everybody catches up to it). Raced on Brands Hatch Indy with a downtuned N400 BMW to N300 and the difference with the other cars is frankly a bit ridiculous.

Had a 2.5 second gap with number two behind me after one lap, made a mistake, he passed me and I passed him on the straight like he was standing still basically.

Yeah, I think you are given the option. At least I recall being given one.

I suggest you keep it though. I imported my demo cars/money but it still reset my level and all the in-game achievements were back to 0. That seemed like a significant enough reset to me without losing the cars and money that I had earned.

Edit: Also, your progress in career/arcade is set back to the beginning as well.

When you boot up the game it asks you whether or not you want to transfer beta data over... Just say No.

Okay so I had absolutely zero problems with the recent demo. I've just installed retail copy downloaded digitally and the cockpit view is facing me looking out the left window. I've rebooted same issue the only way I can face forward is the chase cam but I don't play that way. Anyone else have this issue?

Most people are driving M4's now anyway, and those that aren't are just in a different class!

Looking forward to seeing how the competitions work, looking forward to something a bit more meaty than just running dailies over and over.

Anybody else notice gearbox ratio issues?

I've put my 2017 NSX to the lowest top speed but first gear remains ridiculously tall, going up to 175 km/h before it redlines and you can switch to 2nd gear.

I guess you can change each gear ratio manually but c'mon

Edit: even doing it manually, the shortest 1st gear will go to is 143 km/h WTF!

The actual game will thank you for participating in the beta and then asks you if you want to transfer your progress.

It asks you before you start anything in the game and it’s mandatory. One time only.

Just say no.

Can we get a global TC setting, please? Why do I have to set it to 0 on every single car, sometimes I need to do on a car I've already done it on.

Try pressing d-pad buttons, maybe it got stuck looking left. (or what look left is mapped to, can't really remember what the default was)

The M4 is OP for this race. I start on pole most of the time and if I can get through the first 2 corners unscathed then I'll win the race.

I really wish there was a voting system for the dailies.

PD need to realise nobody wants to race ovals in sport mode.

I wasn't as fortunate--made my mistake on lap 3, and another M4 was there to take 1st. Extremely frustrating, but also extremely intoxicating.

That's a weird bug lol. Controller or wheel? Did you touch button remapping options?
If not, maybe the right analog stick is slightly tilted to the side, moving the camera view.

True. Actually I wish there was Daytona, it was fun in GT5 Prologue (I don't think I ever raced on it in GT5/6). Long and wide, lots of drafting and room to overtake.

If you're using a wheel - make sure your ds4 stick isn't somehow pushed to the left. Happened to me in the demo..lol

Obsessed with getting my SR up as much as possible.

Went from D to B in one night. Even sacrificed some good positioning

Played about 5 hours yesterday and there is a lot of great things they did, but also some things that are a bit odd. Game definitely plays good and looks good, but it is very sterile. The HDR implementation is pretty damn amazing and boy does it make it look really good. One of my biggest gripes is that lack of damage to your vehicle, unless I am missing a setting that I am not aware of. You can take a header into the rear of another car and no visible damage to the other car and cheesy thump sound, but outside of your car not showing a lot of damage, there is no damage model within the cars themselves, At the rate of speed I was going, my whole front suspension, aero and other things should of went to shit completely. Again, maybe I am missing an option.

I played a lot of Arcade and did a lot of the tests...foolishly I thought doing the test's was the requirement for playing on-line as that is one of things I wanted to do...so I kept doing those test and it would never unlock until my wife noticed the option to watch the 2 video's, which I have to was pretty bad as in not very good. I think a pre-cursor to playing on-line would of been some tests instead of watching 2 video's.

Overall, I am liking the game, the main concerns I think some will have is the limited campaign, I don't even think what they have should be qualified as a campaign since it is so limited. The 2 on-line races I did were a total cluster fuck. One was on the short oval and just was really bad, cars driving through each other, no real sense that you were driving against others. Just not that great of a feeling. The second was much better, but you can tell that this mode is going to be special however and I am wanting to dive into it a lot more...just my first impression of it on that oval was really bad.

Presentation is top notch, from the menu's to how they give out cars is just outstanding. Being a fan of Forza as well makes me happy that GTS is doing what it is doing as I now have 2 really good racing games to play. PCars 2 is good too once they fix all the issues, but it is really a good time to be a racing fan regardless of platform.

That's the thing, I was the only M4 (out of 20 cars) and I downtuned it because I read about it here. And now I learned the M4 is OP for that track as well from other responses.

What about people who don't follow GTS that closely and are wondering why they don't stand a chance and get frustrated.

Of course a lot of folks will catch on and also downtune but I'd just like to join the official races and expect cars to be on the same level, without having to downtune over half my garage just to be able to compete.

Glad you're enjoying it.

Avoid ovals like the plague in Sport Mode.

Went back to the VR mode to give it another chance after my initial poor first impressions as I had unlocked almost everything bar two tracks and had all classes of car. The kart, Gr4, Gr3, and Gr1 are all great fun in VR, much better than what I played last night/earl this morning. The N and X class cars feel significantly less enjoyable and where my initial impressions were pulled from. A Gr1 on Tokyo at night is great fun. Now Sony just have to front up the cash and get PD to expand it so it is fleshed out and more importantly add in basic options.

I think it's time to learn how to drive manual. This feels like the game to do it with.

Be sure to decide on a placement for your up/downshifts early on (whether you want it on face buttons, shoulder buttons, or an analog stick). Getting that muscle memory built up can be frustrating when it gets disrupted in a hectic moment early on, but it makes a huge difference in the long run. Eventually it's mostly effortless.

Got fastest lap in Sport Race 3, closest I'll ever be to winning something. :p

Also got my SR down to E because I missiled some stragglers and went from 2nd place to 11th. Oops...

Yeah, this is my plan as well. So far the demo made me stop using driving line and breaking notifications, and this will be the next step

Also, regarding traction control, what setup is everyone using? I remember using 3 in the demo, but I don't know if I should learn how to drive without using it

I cane in 1st on the oval sport because everyone got a penalty. Somehow, I didn't. I started 12, and I don't remember what happened. I just kept on the paddle and didn't let go (occasinally avoiding others).

Yeah. I am trying to decide on that now. I'm not sure what's easiest.

wow, is this possible in real life? lol

So I've put in a couple-to-a-few hours into GTS and I can certainly understand the negative opinions of some out there. My impression of the game is definitely good, there's so much to like. Driving feels great (on the controller, anyway), I appreciate the faster load times throughout (compared to previous GT games), presentation is off the charts, and the game looks gorgeous in 4K/HDR.

However, I'm already finding it hard to be motivated to continue playing. I'm the kind of person that plays towards an overall goal, so I'm not big on simple arcade races or time trials. At this point, when I boot up the game, I feel like my options are "tutorial or wait for an online race?" Any mode in the campaign feels like just another tutorial and after completing quite a few of them, I think I'm over it. The only reason to complete them is for the prize car, which feels like a waste of time because what exactly am I using the prize car for? I'm not needing them to complete a series, I'm not given any reason to drive them unless I just want to. It's kind of weird to say that I liked it better when I was forced to drive cars for series races that I otherwise wouldn't, but that's what I've found.

As for the online, I've also been disappointed in the Sport mode because as of right now, I'm not quite sure what I'm racing for. The leagues, when they start, will probably be cool, but I don't feel motivated enough to bother with regular Sport races. I don't care for the oval track, which means I basically have two races to choose from, which get old pretty quickly. Seems silly to give only 3 races each week that just repeat over and over every 20 minutes/1 hour.

Overall, I'm pretty down on this version of GT. I think it deserves the review scores it has gotten but for my play style, this game just doesn't fit me too well. I miss the old campaign style with the multitude of series for all manner of cars, from slow to fast.
