If Phil Spencer wants a career moment, he should go into Blizzard and clear out the trash. That company is a dumpster fire and it's the most fucking depressing thing for a longtime Blizzard fan to acknowledge.
Very easy for life-long Blizzard fans to acknowledge. There is a reason why Blizzcon couldn't sell out and they had to sell their tickets at a loss this year. They lost almost all goodwill long ago.
Impressive, just typing out the equations should make anyone go "wait a minute"
Blizzard has been on a knee jerk roll for a few years now. Modern WoW is basically half reactions to their bad expansions. OW2 is a half assed reaction to the dissatisfaction around the state of the sequel and the original game. It was also literally half a game just to show how knee jerk it was. D4 just continues the new tradition.D4 feels like a knee-jerk reaction to the Diablo Immortal reveal. Rushed into development without any solid plan.
Modern WoW is basically half reactions to their bad expansions.
I agree, but it was a reaction to Shadowlands being so disappointing which was a reaction to BfA being kinda disappointing. It was every other expansion being bad but now they are so knee jerk they kinda miss more often.Dragonflight is easily the best WoW expansion in a decade.

here are rumors that Dragonflight will be ending earlier than the typical two-year expansion cycle.
Easy? Yes. Depressing all the same. I've sunk more time into WoW alone than all games I've ever played many times over. My guild has constantly teetered on the brink of everyone quitting for 6 years now. It is dead right now, has been for two months, as everyone would rather wait for the next raid to clear than play it. Some of us literally only play because we're friends.
Because next year is the 20th anniversary.
My guild has been dead essentially since WoD. I tried a few times to find other mythic raid teams, but usually after a single patch cycle people find other guilds. The last time I actually enjoyed the game was back in MoP. DF is just another in a long line of failures from Blizzard, IMO.
You work for blizzard?Litreally
I got bored with the beta. What a shame.
I have never seen this guy before but his laughing is amazing
Obligatory:
You guys should come up with another game to play together.Easy? Yes. Depressing all the same. I've sunk more time into WoW alone than all games I've ever played many times over. The old blizzard is dead.
Dragonflight won't be ending early. It's doing really well, Blizzard has gotten really good with communication and content cadence. There will most likely be Season 4 similar to Shadowlands with the Fated Raids and old-school/new dungeon pool for Mythic+. It won't be a 10.3 patch I do not think, probably a 10.2.5 and a 10.2.7 leading up to the events of the next expansion. I've been playing this entire expansion and have had a blast, its better than WotLK in terms of content. The Story is not bad, but it's not Lich King, however, it's miles ahead of Shadowlands and this is coming from someone who has been playing since 2004.It took 3 of their previous 4 expansions to realize where they fucked up and finally get around to fixing the problems. The story started strong but got pretty weak. There are rumors that Dragonflight will be ending earlier than the typical two-year expansion cycle. Which, if true, will probably be a disaster. The last time they planned to make expansions take less than two years, they ended up making the worst expansion to date. My whole guild has effectively stopped playing for months now because everyone is bored with it despite the good patch cadence. We have never had virtually the whole guild stop playing in the 11 years I've been in it. Patch 10.1 was a disappointment. No one in my guild is even talking about 10.2 on Discord. Which is also a first. For now, it feels like too little, too late.

Legion was good, but then they doubled down on Artifact system and BFA turned out to be a hot mess of multiple botched systems and so many stories that it became a hot mess. Shadowlands felt like an odd filler with a horrendously boring Villain and essentially a sequel to WotLK that deserved far better. DF however felt much more like classic WoW in terms of its tone and narrative and the new systems and refresh of UI was fantastic.
I work pretty closely with Blizzard and was in the friends and family alpha for Dragonflight. The art director for WoW Jeff Parrot was also my former game art teacher at a University in Full Sail before back in 2010. Nice to see him land at Blizzard, very excellent teacher and great with his skills.
A studio that made zero games, how do you know their games wont be shit??I've said many times. If people want Blizzard games, don't bother with Blizzard itself. Look to Dreamhaven and its partners. That's where a lot of their talent went.

Well obviously I can't read your mind so there is no way for me to know that unless stated otherwise. Hence, why I stated that I been playing since vanilla as well.See and that bothers me. That they'll simply not do a real Season 4 of content where they absolutely could. Ending the main narrative thrust of this expansion at 10.2 with Fyrakk as the final villain? The patch cadence has been great but I can promise that a 6-month season of just recycled raid and dungeon content, meaning the last new raid released roughly a whole year before the next expansion, is gonna rub people wrong. No one in my guild will stick around for that. They already aren't now.
I'm glad if they don't end Dragonflight this Spring, but also not satisfied to see them just breadcrumb us for most of a year.
And believe me, you don't need to explain what they did wrong and how they fixed much of it to me. I've been playing since Vanilla. Logged over 12,000 hours into the game. I'm very aware.
has anyone ever said that?bUt bLizzArD is sMaLl inDiE cOmPanY!!!
I looked at their employees on their website from both studios they have. My concern is that they already have too many employees. I can't find any game info on their website so they may as well be vapor for all I care. Best to forget about them until they announce or show something of substance.A studio that made zero games, how do you know their games wont be shit??
That is exactly how I feel too, and I heard initially they want to make an MMO so I have no idea most MMOs now days take a decade to finish and only run for a yearI looked at their employees on their website from both studios they have. The fact the patch for season 1 seemingly told people to get fucked and that the builds they found to make their slog of a piece of shit game fun was the definition of hating your customers. If Phil Spencer wants a career moment, he should go into Blizzard and clear out the trash. In regards to Season 4, I disagree. Season 4 was actually the best and most fun I've had in Shadowlands. All the raids were accessible and had something to offer and it was another Season to get KSM with a new mixup of dungeons. If my memory serves me right, a lot of people did enjoy Season 4 in SL. So I do not think Season 4 in DF will be badly received it. We have too wait and see what kind of dungeons they bring out and what other content they will be putting out in those patches.
As far as the lore goes, I do agree that it is a bit weird that Fyrakk is the final big bad of this expansion. But truth be told, his better and more interesting than the Jailer was. The jailer was just some weird big bald dude out of nowhere with all this shit attached that made no sense. At least in DF the primalist made more sense and a final dragon boss is not something we've had for a while. I will tell you what is stupid though, I think the whole Bronze and Infinite dragonflights story got wasted and could have been far more interesting. Muruzond just being saved so easily was stupid.
Many people speculated that Muruzond was going to be the big bad at the end or even Galakrond where they somehow brought him back. Those two would of been far more interesting that Fyrakk imo, but at least it wasn't another jailer moment. I think what WoW is missing right now is an epic ending/moments. The ending of Legion was one of the best endings I've ever seen. Not only did you had prominent figures such as Illidan and Sargeas play a part, but you also got to see the massive cliffhanger and implications of Azeroth being stabbed. That was a true old-school classic heroic Warcraft moment and they haven't done anything like this since then and that is what WoW needs from a story perspective imo.
Right now it is speculated that the next expansion is going to be entirely underground and the sword will be taken out. So the new "continent" is going to be right under where SIlithus is and you bet your ass we will see C'thun again and a ton of void stuff in there along with a Titan facility. Dragonflight has a lot of titan lore so I wouldn't be surprised. Also, a new achievement got datamined called "Heroic Edition - Algarian Stormrider" which unlocks when you buy/pre-order the "Heroic Edition" of an upcoming expansion. Algarian Stormrider is the name of the new mount and no its not the Blizzcon mount that's posted on the banner for buying the virtual ticket, that would have been a different achievement. It was the same thing for the Dragonflight pre-order "Heroic Edition: Tangled Dreamweaver" which gave you an Emerald Dragon for pre-ordering the game.
I can tell you and I can speak about this game for many hours. WoW is a very big part of my life as well. I've met people in that game that I've ended up being friends with for life and actually see in person at least once a year if the opportunity allows it too.Fair, but simply stating I'm aware so you know during the course of this conversation that you're talking to someone with plenty of knowledge.
It was decent for 3 weeks through one cycle of the raids we had already spent many months on. No one in my guild was looking forward to Sepulcher or Sanctum all over again. Once we cleared all three raids one more time, everyone quit until Dragonflight. My guild has already quit for two months after clearing heroic Aberrus a few times. Also should keep in mind that Season 4 for Shadowlands was short. About 2.5 months. You're talking at least twice that long for DF S4. With possibly no major narrative thrust for a year, but that remains to be seen. They could still do something with that without a raid as a finale.
I absolutely agree that the Primal Incarnates are way more interesting than the Jailer or even N'Zoth. Yeah, I was actually pissed about Murozond. Spent damn near two decades building up to that conclusion and it got treated like an afterthought. That alone deserved at least its own major patch and raid. I also hated how they lazily handled who became the new Black Dragon Aspect. I'm fine that it was Ebonhorn, but that series of events just felt weak in the end. My hope is now that Metzen is in charge of Warcraft, that dipshit Steve Danuser gets told to fuck off.
Legion was fantastic because it brought so many narrative threads to a head. Threads from long before WoW was a thing. My only gripe was that we didn't fight Sargeras in any way. I know fighting a planet-sized Titan makes less sense than a gnome tanking a dragon, but dude it could have been fucking epic!
I've heard it could be a mostly underground expansion, an expansion where we go to the other side of Azeroth, or both. Supposedly a leak of the next expansion being called Stormbreak with a heavy emphasis on dwarves happened. And it happened in much the same way the Dragonflight leak happened. I still love WoW. Despite my million complaints, it holds a special place for me. I just don't trust Blizzard to not fuck it up.
