I want to love this game, but holy hell was the first one boring. If this one is less of a walking and delivery simulator I'll check it out. Love Kojima's stories, but the first just really... really sucked.

Mannnn…I don’t get it. I’m sure I’m going to get bashed here by Kojima truthers, but mannnn. Cool, cinematically the game looks phenomenal. I don’t ever claim Kojima doesn’t know how to direct, but maybe he should look into directing movies or series’ on TV. DS was a slog, the story was convoluted (and not the good convoluted like Fight Club or Memento), and now we have a sequel that looks equally, as shall I say, dumb story wise. Walking around in an empty ass world for 10 minutes for a 30 minute cut scene is not a good video game. DS people tried to convince me on Gaf, that because they could place a ladder on the map, the game was a 10/10. Show me something that makes my 10 minutes of gameplay worth your convoluted 30 minutes of cutscenes. Please…I love twists and turns in movies, I really do, and I would love it in video games too if done right, but there has got to be some sort of subliminal messaging here..

That was hands down one of the best trailers of the past few years.
Death Stranding was such a weird and special game for me. While I was playing it I often found myself bored and annoyed by it....and yet since finishing it a few years ago I've found myself thinking back to it more than a lot of games that I had more fun playing. From gameplay to story to art direction to concepts, it was all so unique and different from most of the samey AAA games that it became one of the most memorable experiences of last gen even if I didn't love everything it was doing.

There were a lot of cool games during this state of play, several games I'll probably have more fun playing than DS2. But when you put everything else they showed side by side with this, it's hard not to feel underwhelmed by how samey and uninspired a lot them are.

Disagree. I found DS to have more interesting and engaging gameplay than like 95% of AAA games.

And that’s okay. I’m not mad about it. I like walking across the sidewalk sometimes too, that’s engaging gameplay when I’m drunk. Definitely love what you love and roll with it, peoples opinions really don’t matter in the grand scheme, love what you love! ❤️

That first game is one of the coolest, weirdest, futuristic sci fi fuckery experiences I've ever had full stop.

The parts where you first get the better trike, the truck, the exoskeleton, the bola gun…man. It was borderline “getting the mech in Xeno Chronicles X” game changing moments one after another.

It’s all about knowing where to stop and streamline the story for me. I do every single delivery all the way up to finishing the Heartman stuff. Then I mainline the rest. And it’s fucking amazing.

Anyone else reinstalling?

Visually looks amazing. Loved the first one. Put well over 100 hours doing all the deliveries and side quests. Probably gonna go dark on this until release.
 
I was afraid of this, seems more of the same. We connected the whole of US and I was hoping we are going to get livable hubs and more people aroundus but seems again you are by yourself and probably gonna do the whole hologram and wall of txt emails for communication. Im sure its gonna be a good game and Ill play it but donno how far can this go the second time and still keep it interesting. It was unique the first time around but we all know these wacky, over the top cutscenes are few and far between just like in MGS 5.

It looks absolutely amazing, specially the environments. The designs looks so cool and that fight was pretty badass! I just dislike that sometimes Kojima doesn't seem to know how to restrain himself, leading to some cringy choices. I loved the first one and this seems to be a worthy successor and evolution (in terms of graphics).
 
Visually spellbinding, creative, hypnotic, bizarre, intriguing, simply spectacular. Nobody does it like Kojima. Like that we're seemingly getting more action, Baker's revamped villain is bananas, puppet companion is god-tier, graphics in the running for most impressive yet (that overhead desert shot, got damn!). Fully expected this was going to be a fall 2024 release but I guess I've got my 2025 GOTY, can't fucking wait.

I'm as excited as everyone else and it does look fantastic.
But...I don't think it looks much different then the original.
I mean it's definitely doing stuff the first wasn't but I wouldn't say it as a bigger jump as some are making out.
