Just broke my controller because of Sifu

Never broke a controller unless you count the N64 control stick but that one would 'break' from normal usage so that doesn't count.

Never. I don't go destroying things out of anger. Probably it has to do with me growing up in a low income situation before things got more stable after.

Never got to that point, personally, but I totally get it (The people in the comments are being dickish about this one...)

My rage is more "cold".
I just exit and uninstall the game, with a completely blank look on my face.

This is me without the uninstall part. I exit the game, that blank stare, open game again, keep playing until I overcome whatever. This is what Shin Megami Tensei did to me.

To my shame, though, I've also trashed a few controllers. I think the culprit in every case was For Honor - very much a love/hate relationship there.

never broke a piece of hardware i own of a rage tamtrum, never understud why ppl do that, the problem is not the controller.

I've never broken a controller; however, slapped the shit out of mine a few times when playing Bloodborne. Also, Valkyries in GoW.

Last year I had a rage attack in Hunt Showdown and kind of flung the controller upwards and onto the couch after I shut down the PS5. Thing bounced off the couch in a surprisingly high arc and nailed my cat who was sleeping on the floor in the ass.

He grumbled and kept sleeping and I felt terrible.

Thats a pity... When I was younger I used to want to punch the video game (I never did), but I never got angry with the controller.

About this game, I played a little bit of it... I liked and I hated.

The age mechanic makes me anxious and I ended up restarting the first stage every time I died. I restarted 5 times and got to the boss, saved and closed the game.

I dunno if I will keep playing, the combat is cool and dying seems to be part of the process, but I really hated the roguelike stuff, same thing happened with Returnal and Hades, cool games that I dislike playing.

About raging... I rage all the time playing Smite when I get shithead teammates, I curse a lot and that's why I always turn off my microphone, sometimes I even surprise myself with the shit that I end up saying.

Also Sifu is one of those games I realized I mostly liked in theory. I put about 10 hours into it and still felt like the majority of the difficulty was due to the heavy, convoluted controls. It's a game I should love but I mostly found it obnoxious and it never felt fun.

Yeah, I learned not to do the uninstall part, after I "rage quit" Final Fantasy 8 (Not gameplay related rage, it was story/character related rage).

I quit right around the time you get full control of that red Spaceship. The end of the game, basically... I got so mad that I deleted the save.

And I regret it to this day... Since I heard from many people that the final dungeon is the tops.

Live and learn...

I will be playing SMT 1 tomorrow, so I will be in that same boat you are in...

Never broken a controller over a game, but I just recently started Donkey Kong Country Returns, and I don't know if it's some sluggish with Dolphin translating a horizontal Wiimote to a gamepad, but the game seems kinda sluggish and some of the special stages are hard as balls. And I 100%'d the original DKC games.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Yoshichan Yoshichan didn't you destroy a chair one time? :messenger_tears_of_joy:
A chair and oh-so-much-more, it’s actually surreal. Me and Kaachan Kaachan did a ”fun” thing once and tried calculating (and remembering) the cost of every accessory and medical bill that has been the results of me raging.

We reached the number of around 8400 USD. That’s absolutely surreal when I look back at it.

Oh my god I digested the fucking plastic and paper of Borderlands on the PS3 - you just reminded me of that holy shit 🤣

Yeah I am nowhere near as ragey, I do type a lot of angry stuff on the internet though. Kinda converted from destroying equipment to typing like a discord moderator dork instead. Not sure which one’s better hahahah

Typing out raging stuff is fine. Eating game cases and possibly cutting your insides is not lol

Glad you grew up a bit. Those are some fucking stories dude :messenger_grinning_smiling::messenger_beaming:

I’ve gotten quite strong in the past few years so maybe I don’t destroy shit anymore because my testosteron is getting juiced out elsewhere 🤣?!

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
It has some of the best combat ever in game - Once you beat Sean it really starts to click.

Bruh I beat Sifu at launch, before they nerfed certain areas of the game. I’m also not someone who typically enjoys punishing games either. Dying can be frustrating, and I definitely raged (never threw my controller though) but I still loved every second of it.

I do this too. I'll just cold quit a game when I get too pissed to keep playing, and uninstall it on the spot. Usually it's not just a single instance of something either, it's the culmination of a game being bullshit in the worst ways until it reaches a boiling point.

This is also why I buy games physically for consoles typically. I don't want to be stuck with games that get me to this point, and there's a small amount of catharsis from getting some money back and ensuring someone will pick up my preowned copy, so the company won't see any money from the used game sale.

This is the reason why I don't plan on playing Sifu. I know I'd get super pissed trying to finish the game the legit way and I don't want to play it on the easy mode. Thankfully I've managed to learn that not all cool looking games are for me.
