XBLA Black Friday week sales

Seems to be no hidden deals on any recent games. Went though all XBLA games back to the Summer (Insanely Twister, Bastion, and others), and nothing :/

Judging by Black Friday deals, the stuff already posted is what we get. Nothing more. Disappointing but BG&E for 240 MS points is awesome if you dont have it yet

And with BG&E those spare points are almost entirely depleted. Just 20 that'll stick around until some bullshit comes along to get them actually used up.

Risk Factions is on sale for like the 400th time this year but I can recommend it if you like board games at all. It's quite a long game and the achievements are challenging to get - I have played it for something like 6 or 7 hours and I only have a few of them.

I'm on the fence with Mortal Kombat...I have a lot of memories of playing those in the arcade but I keep reading about problems with it.

I wish Sega would put Sega Bass Fishing on sale some day. I would so buy it.

And I of course picked up BG&E. Played through it on GCN back in the day and loved it.. probably won't play it again but felt like I had to throw em a few bones for going through the HD re-release treatment.

It sounded like Lemmings with characters from that show..one achievement involves burning them all in a fire

I'm not very familiar with the show (same deal for Ugly Americans) but if you're a fan maybe you should take a look? I looked at impressions on xbox360achievements in a clutch like this because those gamers are the ones who are soldiering through the whole game and they are a good source for whether it will be fun or a pain to clear. Sounded like most of them were happy enough with it for what it is. Otherwise: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/happy-tree-friends-false-alarm (the user critic review sounds similar to what I was reading)

Hrm. I guess I'll think about it. I'm almost tempted to grab the Baconing as well, but I realize that I should stop buying stuff just because it's on sale.

The Baconing I'm having fun with it but it's a very easy answer: How much did you like Deathspank and Deathspank ToV. If the answer is not "a lot" then run screaming in the other direction, but it's actually pretty good for fans and a bit harder than the first two.

The reviews I've read have said that they've amped up the combat/fetch quests but that there's less of the Ron Gilbert comedy stuff.

I don't know about that, it's pretty much the same style of humor (orphans, sexual innuendo, sarcasm etc)

Some of the questing is bordering sado masochistic so you have to be okay with that too.

My advice for people playing any Deathspank game is to not mash the A button and skip voices, the voices reading the text makes it funnier (which is kind of obvious, but hey, I'm impatient so I understand the urge to skip the voice)

Beyond Good and Evil is totally worth it at 240 Allards. And Stacking should have been closer to 5 to the 7.50 price it is currently at. Once you start going over $10 for games that I don't have a hard copy of, I start getting a little worried... Steam/Humble Bundles/Good Old Games are about the only things I kind of trust... mostly because you can redownload the game as many times as you want and PC's are a pretty open platform where you don't have to rely on crummy hardware stealing your games at some point in the future.

I am still worried about xbox live / psn content in the future and whether or not I am going to be able to seamlessly redownload and play all of it on the next gen iterations.

I was trying to download BG&E from cyber monday section on the 360 but it was the BG&E Premium theme instead WTF. And I didnt read the description before clicking confirm why was it even there?

Is it really? How different is it from Regula Risk?

Different maps. And this maps have their own rules. Maybe that's the only difference. You can still play the classic map with classic rules or new rules.

The only thing I don't like is that there are not many options regarding custom rules.

Picked up:

Super Meat Boy
Outrun Arcade
Beyond Good and Evil HD
Risk
and finally bought SFIII (Not on sale :( )

And yet Skyrim will probably keep me from them all.

Definitely buying Mortal Kombat today after work. I was waiting on a sale for it. $5 for a few hours of nostalgia is worth it.

I also bought the Marvel pack for Pinball FX2. sogood.gif

Jesus Carbomb

From Water into Guinness
Ended up getting:

Outrun
Pinball FX Marvel, Core Packs
Streets of Rage
MvC2
Mortal Kombat (I'm banking on the upcoming patch to make this purchase worthwhile)
BGE HD

Pretty decent haul overall. Still have points left for the end of the year sale. Really hope SF: Third Strike goes on sale, if not, I'll probably just bite at full price.
