This couple with high memory card prices? I'm on the verge of saying "I'm out".
See this is what bothers me, I haven't seen a single reason to say "i'm in" with the Vita. Yeah, okay, you got cameras, touch panels, and HD graphics. For a handheld that's pretty amazing but the negatives absolutely outweigh the positives in every instance.
Let's talk money:
>High price
>High memory card price
>Pay for 3G if you want, but it still has capped download speeds
>Send in Vita when your battery dies, because it's built in
>>Speaking of battery life, the Vita has low battery life so you have to spend money constantly to recharge it
Things like that shouldn't be acceptable in today's market. The 3DS tried a $249 and bombed hard. The vita has to be good enough to merit its price, and it seems like the online for the Vita is going to bomb.
Let's talk online:
>Only 1 PSN account per Vita
>To switch psn accounts you must restore to factory defaults
>AT&T
>DL speeds capping even with 3G
Seriously? You're seriously going to ship that Sony?..i'm sorry, but the games are going to have to be fricken masterpieces before I consider buying into this pyramid scheme. That's what it is. A pyramid scheme. Sony promises you good service as long as you promise not to sue them, gets you to talk about the vita so others buy into this crappy system with the promise of good games and service, and then they never come. Sony gets our money, and consumers get screwed. Welcome to next-generation corporate policy: Sony, you can sit next to Ubisoft and Activision right over there. If you don't want to, I advise you pretty much bring the Vita back to the drawing board or start making amends.
OH, by the way, with the 1 account thing; there's something you guys are forgetting. Online passes.
Buy a import game that requires online pass on your account, than you can't play game online unless you format your system. That should be a form of region-locking to me.
What the system in the OP describes makes it so
you can't play import games online that require online passes, something that Sony is adopting. Got a new early copy of an imported Uncharted? Cool. Just format your vita and log into your import PSN account if you ever want to play it online. (Just making an example, no idea if Uncharted is using the crappy online pass w/ vita)
