This guy needs a timeout. he has reset the game 10 times since I started watching

I don't know how he does it. I have a bit of my own setup with action game combo videos where I have to attempt zero input errors for tough durations repeatedly (6-12 seconds but 100x faster then SM64 type gameplay). It is not as demanding as this but my brain still goes to goo after a few hours. The first thing to go is your timings. It's like your brain gets tired of the constant perfect attempts and no longer lets you input shit correctly. So you just start dropping the soap. Then you are now conscious that you are constantly screwing up and try to fix it. It never works until you take a break, which is usually at least numerous hours not 10 minutes. Food for thought.

Much respect to his attempts and I'm hooked on watching...at least for awhile.

I don't think that's his doing. He's said before that he plays commercials between runs and sometimes in boring parts such as the sub star where there's literally only swimming and then a few jumps.

lol got some sleep and I'm back to watching this. From the looks of this thread, he hasn't stopped yet. He's insane. It's kinda cool hearing his voice now...gives a perspective of what he's thinking when he fucks up or when something goes better than expected. He's at the point where I saw him before I went to sleep, like 50ish stars in 50ish minutes.

I think this is the coolest speedrun I've ever seen. I played through Mario 64 so many times. I've gotten 120 stars probably about 20 times literally and yet he is on another level of play. I can't believe these moves.

Yeah the timer is reset, so this run is over. Sucks, he was just saying he was doing better than usual before the sand level.

*edit- lol he spent like an hour practicing the jump in the sand level, immediately started a new run, and screwed up right at the beginning. But he is starting again now.

This guy's unbelievable, but I can't even take the tension of watching it. I had to mute it because his little grunts of frustration were too much for me.

I can't even fathom the kind of dedication these speedrunners have. I once tried to do a run through Shadow Complex picking up the fewest possible upgrades, which should have taken less than twenty minutes all up, and I wasn't even limiting my saves or restarts or anything. I got to a point where I was consistently screwing up a fairly easy jump and I just never wanted to play that game ever again. I have absolutely zero capacity for frustration
