I love the fact that I recognize 80-90% of everything posted.

It at least tells me that the majority of you are ~5 years within my age.

I had a generic version of this. It could be a multileveled command center with a shuttle or the whole thing assembled into a large spacecraft. My astronaut G.I.Joe was always in charge of my troops.

Edit: Holy crap, I found it, and it wasn't generic after all.

Man I had so much fun with that thing.

I realized the same thing as soon as those Battle Beast thingies showed up :D Also, it's awesome that most of this stuff seems to be internationally Nostalgia-worthy!

Monsters in my Pocket in Europe were sold in Cardboard boxes though, with only one monster visible. God I loved those things. The Hydra looked so cool. And the Tengu! I played the hell out of the Tengu and its bendable wings!

Holy shit the memories. Rok! I actually know the bird was called Rok! And that Panther-Bird thing. Man I might as well start collecting those again now.

fuckin loved me some Battle Beasts. I remember for a brief period they included a Sun element (the decal on the figures armor) and Sun could beat EVERYTHING. Wood, Water AND Fire.

...Never found a Sun figure though =/

That's some awesome packaging.

The packaging + rarity at the time(1997 or so) + everyone in class had one + the different colors and designs on the eggs = a badass toy.

Kinda simple when you look back on it but tamagotchis were awesome.. My first one was the second generation camo colored one :p

I had one, and it was bad ass! Don't remember how it was called though :(

Also, the later ones with the see-through hole instead of a hologram were pretty cool, too.

i remember building so many kick ass towns with my friends when he had free time in class.
Lincoln Logs were the shit. Tinker Toys also.

Probably no one will remember this thing, the Laffun Head. You pulled on his tie and he would laugh maniacally and spit water out his mouth at you. My grandfather got one as a gag gift one year and I remember pulling that thing's tie a million times to hear the creepy laugh (link is of the thing laughing)

Speaking of McDonald's, what are some of your favorite happy meal toy series?

I fondly remember this one and was so pumped when I got the Knuckles toy!!

wLebN.jpg

What's interesting is that the Robotnik is the same style from the crappy cartoon show(not the awesome SATAM one... the one with the drill-guy and chicken robot), yet Knuckles never appeared in that show if I remember correctly.

Ghostbusters fire house is awesome... I still have that thing.

What was cool about the ghostbusters toy series is they never ran out of weird ideas for ghosts/creatures/monsters... like this weird thing.

I TOTALLY REMEMBER THAT! It scared the shit out of me!

There was someone's house I went to as a child that I will forever associate with that thing; I was mortified.

FUCK YOU gaf for doing this to me every once in a while.

I had to get a new one of these EVERY DAY after lunch...

at the LADYBUG PICNIC

doo doo doo (kazoo sound)

Crap, I don't remember that. I bet if I actually saw it something would ring a bell. Unless it was on Caliope, because I watched Caliope a lot less than Pinwheel.

I hated this movie as a kid for only one reason: to this day I can NOT hear THAT SONG without crying. As a kid when the song came on, I covered my ears, especially around strangers.

That said, I miss Don Bluth. :( His movies from the 80s were so beautiful - some of the finest American animation.

Now I'm hungry.

tumblr_leo9iyae4x1qb3mmfo1_500.jpg

True story: that pizza was provided by Red Baron aka Schwans. When I worked for Schwans Corporate they had entire boxes of that stuff in the employee store. So there was me, circa 2008, cooking up a huge pan made up of old "school" pizza.

Older folks who went to Disneyland will remember these:

I actually barely remember most of those - then again, I was like 6, but at least the people mover and the air tram thing were there until I was 8 or 9. There are so many things in this thread I do remember but after seeing that Tiger Castlevania game, it reminded me of this bastard (I got it when I was 7):

WARNING: DO NOT VIEW MORE THAN ONE PAGE OF THIS THREAD AT ONCE

YOU WILL BE NOT BE ABLE TO FUNCTION AFTERWARDS

Yep, it fucked up my entire afternoon. I had planned on reading a book and maybe trying to watch an episode or two of Battlestar Galactica as my kid naps, but no, I was here the entire time and at "I'm Remembering".

Right now, at age 32, I really want to buy a bunch of Monster in my Pocket and the original Optimus Prime in box.

Wow so much nostalgia in this thread. Had to post this. Baby Sinclair. Was one of my favourite toys as a child. We had the entire set apart from the boy dinosaur, Robby I think?

Dont they make Super Soakers anymore? What could be a better design for a water gun?

I believe they do but they have been renamed. I think they are now called Nerf Soakers.

Plus on top of that, the 90's bright color gun design/packaging has been replaced (for obvious reasons).

The McDLT came in a split styrofoam tray. On one side, the bun/veggies. On the other side, the hamburger.

mcdlt1.jpg

It also was lambasted by environmentalists for wasteful packaging. I think it's when they started wrapping burgers in paper instead of the styrofoam containers

Funny I remember the jingle written on the box. The lettuce and tomato stay COOL!

Suprise people aren't mentioning any transformers or voltron. Those were my big toys. Also agree I pretty much stopped with toys once the nes came out

Because people have already taken the good ones like M.A.S.K., He-Man etc, i have these:

I'm surprised no one's linked the classic McDLT commercial starring Jason Alexander.

And yeah, Transformers were the shit as a kid. Back when they were die-cast metal and could take a ton of abuse. Everyone usually posts the same ones but one of my favorites was this guy:

God this thread made me hungry. I could kill for a slightly plastic tasting mickey d cheeseburger meal with fries and coke(is it!) of course.

I'm sorry, but this just KILLED me. They're having this party, Shredder shows up without an RSVP and laughs, then Leonardo brutally murders him. Then they lament the loss of their ruined pizza (What even happened to it? Did Leo accidently get some blood on it?).

WTF

I was crazy about the muppet baby toys.there was one with Kermit on a skateboard, but it was semi rare I guess. Kept getting ms piggy ones in her crappy car until finally we got Kermit. Was awesome!

Also monopoly. My neighborhood friends got really into monopoly, and then when McDonald's started doing it was awesome.

WOW, nostalgia overload.

The Playmobil pirate ship and the island. Those were the typical sets that all my friends had.

But I had this beauty, Circus Romani.

Made so many great adventures with the circus.
So many great memories.

This are a little bit newer (ending ninetees) but also awesome.
k-nex_set_02.jpg

Knex suitcases. Depending of the colour they were bigger or smaller. I had the normal yellow one, and the black one that had a motor.

capsela-350-water-toy-set-493-278.jpg

Motherfucking Capsela. This toy was the sit to play in the bath.

Oh man, wow. I can't remember who had it, but I played with one all the time!

Holy crap, that ad is amazing. I probably remember it, but seeing Jason Alexander, it's hilarious. The fact that it's not a parity but feels like it almost has to be is even more amazing.

I was big into the transformers, especially the ones you could assemble voltron style like the constructobots and insecticons. and shockwave was the holy grail number 3 outside of a few others. one of the guys turned into a jet, and that was also the envy of the neighborhood.
