The start bit with Leon in the Raccoon City-esque town made me spaff allover my fucking pants.

Then the rest of it happened.

That said, I actually enjoyed Resident Evil 5 (I know, right?) so I can probably cope with the other sections as long as they're not too zany.

Haha, sorry to disappoint you, but I am legitimately excited. When I see sliding to cover (only to ripped from it) or sliding between zombie legs, I don't think "they are ruining Resident Evil!", I think "cool, be more like Vanquish".

Riposte, you are good peeps. I like you.

Is there word on who is developing?

EDIT: Nevermind noticed the info in the op.

This looks to be pretty awesome.

is that lesson 'play co-op games in co-op mode'?

It's funny how some people don't understand that other people may have friends who are conveniently ready to play games at just the same time they are.

For some people with a busy adult life of work and social events, they never know when they'll have an hour to game here and there and that delegates gaming sessions to 1p since it's on the spot or with strangers.

Games should all be co-op ready. Aka, a person can jump in and play co-op, but if they aren't playing co-op there should not be a magical AI buddy and it should be a solo game. Yeah, that means modifying certain puzzles to play slightly differently, but that's work the developer should put in.

The trailer gave me the impression of someone who is creatively bankrupt and tries to just shoehorn as many popular game-styles as possible into his game. So, if you copy everything that's popular people have to love your game, right?
so basically the majority of all western developed games.

back OT, leon is looking even more like david bowie now.

Except that it doesn't. Her voice is even slightly deeper.

What? I like my Paul Mercier. His voice is tied to my favorite RE character and one of my favorite games of all time (RE4). Of course I want him to take up the role again.
That's not what I meant. I'm finding it funny that people think it's not Ashley and that Leon isn't voiced by Paul Mercier. Maybe I'm wrong, but he just sounds more gruff to me, which fits with how Leon looks.

she was a teenager in 4. she'd be in her twenties in this, so that fits.

but the reason i'm not sold on it being Ashley is that from what we've seen of the story it makes zero sense for it to be her running around with super immune scar face guy fighting off stuff with his bare hands.

Whatever floats your boat, man. I happen to love the grotesque monstrosities in RE games, and there looks to be no shortage of that here. Add in gameplay that is finally more modern and all I see is an incredibly fun game. Beings fun is kind of the point, you will get no complaints from me.

It just looks so generic....
You know the crocodile in 2 fitted perfectly in as well as the lake monster in 4.
We'll see about it when it's done but thats one of the few things that bothers me about the trailer.

Please, no forced co-op.
Please, no forced co-op.

Yay Leon!

I'm hoping it's not FORCED co-op, but I AM hoping I can play through the story in co-op.

i don't think every game should be co-op, but RE5 clearly was. buying it and being upset that it was co-op... that's what i don't sympathise with. being upset that it was and not buying it, sure. not having time to play co-op and being stuck playing single player... well why did you buy it then?

i'm an adult. i can't play co-op at the drop of a hat either. still found time to play through RE5 co-op three times with three different people while working two jobs. *shrug*. also, as an adult i have more money than i have time to play games. games that won't fit my lifestyle, i just don't buy. there are plenty of others.

But they cast a new voice actor for Leon in that multiplayer spin-off, presumably he's doing this game too if it's being made alongside it. I recognized Ashley's voice straight away but Leon sounds like a different actor.

The RE stories never make any sense. Considering the trailer starts with a President who knows Leon (just like the backstory to RE4) it makes sense that the girl who sounds like Ashley is, Ashley. Her father was the president.

Funny. That's exactly why I find her cliche and stupid.

Hell, the only reason I like Leon is because he has the balls to suplex zombies. Every character in RE has a personality of a brick.

WHAT! Ada's teasing is what makes her awesome, yes it's cliche but damn at least she does it pretty damn well. No no, Chris has the personality of a brick. Leon has awesome one-liners and amazing jackets.

Do we have any kind of info if it will have co-op. Well except for the likely Leon Chris buddy up

And Leon has that other girl for a partner too.

Chris has other soldier guy who talked for a bit.

Baldy and Ashley

I'm guessing every part is co-op playable just like 5

Are you insinuating there's something in the Resident Evil story that doesn't logically make sense?

I'm not sure if this is the Leon Kennedy I know and love. He doesn't look like the sort of person to say "hey, it's that dog!" or "your right hand comes off?"
I think the trailer pretty much made clear that Leon will be nothing like the Leon in RE4. Capcom isn't even using the same voice actor.

My biggest fear was that Capcom ruins RE4-Leon, who basically grew into my most favourite game character of all time. I can't believe they really did it.

Well, this just tells me that I finally have to let the series go, which is what I will do after Revelations. Hope the new Call of Duty will be released on the same day and RE6 will drown in it's sales. ... But I am just kidding myself. The name is too big. This game will sell big time.

I think you need to get your eyes checked.

And a possible psychological evaluation.

Shit is too strong of a word. But that trailer is extremely disappointing if you had any hope for the series returning to what it once was. This just embraces all the over the top action that RE4 laid the groundwork for. It also seems to continue to move the series away from being a horror game.

Judging by the litres of whine filling up this thread, combined with the awesomeness of that trailer, this should go on to sell about GLOBAL SATURATION copies.

Ash is like 21/22 in 4. They kidnap her on her way home from college.
