Resident Evil 6: Bro-Splosion Announced, Nov 20 PS3/360, PC Later, PR/Trailer In OP

Honestly I didnt find that racist either...and havent really run into anyone else thats had the same complaints about that section of the game with the infected tribal warriors.

And lets not forget this guy:

Resident-Evil-4-Walkthrough-Part-40---Salazar-Statue.jpg

Speaking of that, I'm worried that the game will take itself too seriously and not include ridiculous shit like this guy.

Leon stuff looks good (although the dude is like bearded and srs business and shit, fuck that), but everything else is bad lookin'.

Holy fuck!!! I did not expect this. I did not like RE5, but this looks like what RE5 should have been. Amazing!

Can't believe there are GAF haters for this. What is there NOT gaf hate on? Get over yourselves...

:p

I thought they changed that scene so it was a white majini attacking her. I could be remembering wrong.

The cutscene where she's screaming for help does have a white guy pulling her indoors, but if I remember correctly in the area prior you can see some black dudes dragging her through the streets screaming. Having trouble finding it on youtube though.

Wow, this thread is a complete storm of every Resident Evil argument for the last ten years.

Trailer is still awesome though.

To be fair I defended RE5 as vigilantly as these folks until the game was released. That attitude pretty much evaporated when I was tasked with saving the poor white aryan lady from the evil black dudes set on defiling her.

You're almost making things up now. That wasn't at all implied.

God-like troll by Capcom that was though, I must say.

Exactly. RE5 is racist as fuck. I can't hate it for that because it's grounded in ignorance, not malice.

This is important, and it's not that people are ignorant because they're jerks or they make a choice to be racist (most people; fact of the matter is that there are some who are aware), but we grow in environments that cause this. This is happening on a subconscious level. Trying to be politically correct fucks up things even more.

Weird point for me to jump in at, but there goes my two cents. Very interested to see where this game is headed though, I am intrigued by the choice of Leon and Chris and the Vanquish-esque gameplay additions.

Eh... It's natural for everything to have haters, even if it's just out of insecurity. What puzzles me is how there are supporters here for everything. Pedos, Paul Christoforo, anything.

I've done it myself and had no idea.
I grew up in a project. About half of the residents were Navy, so it was a real melting pot. Anyway, all of us had porches, and everyone from families with working parents called all of the people who were on welfare and sat on them all day 'porch monkeys'. I had no idea it was a racial thing until I saw Clerks II decades later.

Yep, looks pretty bad. Let Chris die already, nobody wants to see him anymore. Indeed Bro-Splosion on his part. New setting is questionable and serious business Leon is not what we want. Well, COD crowd will eat it up.

Nothing racist about it. Nope, nothing at all...
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=spear chucker

I'm going by the definition of the word:

A belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. Hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

And yeah, i'm aware of that derogatory term...but honestly they also had cudgels, blowtorches, explosive bowguns, and shields, and there are still areas where tribes might dress in ceremonial garb/use replicas of weapons for traditional events.

Either way its probably something that'll be argued as long as the series remains relevant (on the internet anyway).

Haven't read much, but is this going to be another co-op action-fest like RE5?

I'd at least want them to go back to the RE4 solo adventure feeling (with SOME escorting), where it isn't broken up into segments like RE5 but just one big continuous "adventure" (even if RE4 was technically broken into chapters).

It looks like its going to be a mix of what the entire series brought to the table, and then a little something new with the third guy.

If you're talking about the type C controls with the face buttons as camera/aiming, then yeah, not well.

Type C controls in revelations actually work really well (aside from item switching which is the killer). Had aiming speed set to fast and it controlled pretty much perfectly. Much better than any other shooter with this type of control scheme (probably due to how short quartered all the gunfights in the Demo were). But like I said, the item switching becomes a huge hassle in Type C as you're forced to use the touch screen.

Anyway, Revelations supports the circle pad pro for full dual analogue controls, just as you'd expect them. No doubt RE6 will be using the same scheme for it's default.

The Spanish people aren't dressed up like conquistadors in the later levels.

Actually, a lot of them dressed like they belong in the 18th or 19th century in RE4. Then they sprung back even further to medieval times with castles, catapults, Knight armor and crossbows.

I just think they were going for creepy castle and creepy amish people sort of setting and atmosphere. Meanwhile they thought crazy tribal people trying to kill you was also creepy.

Does anyone here actually like Resident Evil 5? Yeah Sheva was annoying as hell, but I really enjoyed it, and I'm glad the gameplay in the series evolved in a way a lot of other franchises don't. I can understand people being upset about the lack of actual horror, hopefully RE6 and Revelations can give people what they want.

I'm psyched.

I loved RE5.

I also like Sheva. I hope she makes an appearance, at least =/

"Racial prejudice or discrimination" was the primary definition until very recently.
Stereotyping = prejudice... no two ways about it.
You don't think that portraying black people with huge lips is racist? Same thing, and another Japanese favorite.

How was Sheva annoying?

I really enjoyed RE5 as much as I enjoyed RE4, maybe even more with the absence of tank controls.

I'm so glad they showed the Leon bit's first, I was so excited for this game during those bits, with traditional zombies and a good setting. WHen I saw Chris in China I was thinking "God this is going to be great, Zombies everywhere!!" then I saw variations of Plagas, fighting terrorist mercenaries, BOWs with Machine gun arms etc....why couldn't it just all be like the Leon bits :(

I just hope the boss designs are much better than RE5. RE4 had some legitimately nasty looking bosses. RE5's were tame were by comparison...aside from that bat-centipede monster.

How many Resident Evils with tank controls would you need in order to be like, "Alright I'm good."?

This has nothing to do with Tank Controls and everything to do with game structure and atmosphere.

I want a zombie game that feels like a survival horror game not a fucking action game that gives you a rating on a mission each time you play.

Edit: The Leon stuff looked awesome.. Then it all went to hell from there IMHO.

After playing RAAM's shadow, and I'm sure people would hate this for me, but I wouldn't mind a small segment where you get to play as the bad guy and slaughter people. Maybe supposed Wesker clone will do that.

I was thinking the same earlier today. RE4's boss lineup was awesome. Who designed those and do they still work for Capcom?

Thats probably what Operation Raccoon City is for.

EDIT: Unless the third guy ends up being the other Wesker.

Its going to be 3 separate story paths from what the release said, so maybe each will feel like complete games, and you might be content with just having completed Leon's side?

I'm guessing it'll be more like the way Resident Evil 1 and 2 played instead of Code Veronica/Revelations switching.

I'm pretty sure baldy is a bio terrorist and Ash is only sticking with him for his blood, which is of course the only known cure.

While I'm expressing theories, Leon's partner is a bio-terrorist as well, from the same group. She triggers the virus, deeply regrets it, teams up with Leon, Chris wants to kill her etc etc.

If the trailer is anything to go by, I'll be playing the Leon campaign first. Seems to be the one most like RE 1 and 2... a little more horror themed. And Chris' last going by the awesome dialogue with the other soldier.

I hope you are right because Leon's stuff looks really interesting to me.

i really liked RE5 for what it was (a fun action game) but the trailer left me confused.
Some amazing stuff and some that left me with mixed feelings, looked like 5 different games put together.

Classic RE2 atmospheres at first gave me hope they really went back to the roots, then a lot of punching zombies and running and sliding into cover seem to imply they went even farther into the action game territory.

Great tech anyway, Leon looks great, amazing facial animations in cutscenes (but ingame animations look worse than before to me ?) and it's probably going to be a good game regardless.

Oh, the three different scenario theories make sense actually.

I still have a huge crush for her. <3

Yeah, if the rumors are true we're looking at three indecent campaigns that interweave.

Leon/???
Chris/???
???/Ash

And then Ada's campaign which I'm betting is solo. Should be a lot of bang for your buck!
