Hm.. Rewatching the trailer, its a shame they got rid of Paul Mercier as Leon's voice. If its the same as the ORC VA, then its essentially Dave Wittenberg doing his best Paul Mercier impression.

With that said, I will miss the dead-pan, yet sarcastic delivery of Leon's lines like in RE4 and Darkside.

Let me just say that this gif is basically what I wanted out of RE6:

So, at least I'm getting that much. The rest of the game is up in the air though.

Leon's segment in the trailer got me so excited, that I just kinda ignored Chris' dudebro part.

Rewatching it, my expectations are now in check. But at the very least, I'm hoping Leon's story is very horror centric. If the Revelations demo was anything to judge by, Capcom can still do it, they just choose not to with RE5, and Chris' RE6 story.

Looks great!

I really like the Leon scenes, it almost looks like the open world RE 2 city survival I always hoped for.

And the Chris sections look decent, I always wanted to see a local set in China or HK. I wonder if it'll lead to an outcry?

I enjoyed RE5 somewhat, the thing that made it very un RE was that you felt like a walking powerhouse. In RE - RE CV you felt desperate to find weapons and ammo. Without them, you were running, dodging and weaving like a running back while scavenging for bullets and herbs. In RE5, it felt like you really didn't have to evade anyone (unless it was a boss fight), you could just mow people down and keep moving. I swear, playing with Chris made me feel like an albino silver back gorilla with bazookas on his shoulders. It's not that the game had too much action, Chris just felt nearly unstoppable, and it killed the tension.

By comparison, in RE4, you build Leon into a hardened killer with upgrades... but due to the location and feeling like a stranger in a village out to get you, there's tension and an ominous feeling that stays with you. In RE5 you just feel like a walking badass tourist with an annoying partner.

RE "story" fans make me so itchy. RE4's story is hilarious. RE5's story has a dude punching a boulder.

Pretty much. RE4's story had 80s action movie flair. Leon was straight-up Jack Burton tossing a knife at the baby napoleon monster's hand. And Luis!

RE5 was boring D-rate anime. The main Resident Evil story went off he deep end. Josh was the only good part of RE5's story. I still like RE5 as a game a lot, but the story was so dull.

Seriously, why do people try so hard to point that this game is not just a next step in RE evolution and instead tries to copy CoD, Gears of Wars or L4D?
Because they want to troll and can't find a decent reason.
And / or maybe didn't played all the previous RE games to know they influenced these games, instead of being influenced by these games.
And well, considering that a lot of complainers have Nintendo avatars, I assume that a WiiU version would have halved the complains.

I don't get it, he didn't do anything but press some control pads and drive a boat.

This looks awesome! It'll be nice when the 100 or so people stuck in the past are drowned out by the millions and millions of others who will buy and love this bad boy.

T-Virus zombies, dogs and fatty zombies? Check. Sinewy, scythe-armed mutants, skinless behemoths and tentacle-armed cover-killers? Check. The best-looking Nemesis yet? Check.

A straight-up undead apocalypse in a town burning to the ground? Check. A chilly daytime setting full of Eastern European doom and gloom? Check. A glitzy, neon-lit cityscape at night where you're right in the thick of the public's panic? Check. Moody atmosphere? Check. Horrors stalking you in shadowy subways? Check. Overwhelming odds? Check. More ways to kill but more things to kill you? Check.

A high-stakes sense of escalation, of things coming to a head, of a global crisis creating an epic backdrop to more intimate horrors in dark blood-splattered places where the dead have already risen to eat the living? CHECK.

Single-player? Check. Co-op? Check. Multiple playable characters and campaigns, overlapping and entwining? Check. Chris and Leon in the same game? Check. A new character with a sharp wit and what looks like a dynamic new way of fighting? Check.

This is just the beginning. I can't wait to see what else they will show us. In the meanwhile, I wonder: Is Ryan Seacrest the co-op partner for Chris? (See 2:40 in the trailer for celebrity look-alike lols)

Gonna take a guess and say it's Ashley.

The merc is probably dealing with her since she's the one (probably) who has the most money.

The Mercenaries mode, or Raid mode, or whatever they do in this one is going to be off the hook insane. Imagine the characters, the monster variety, the different settings, etc. Can't wait!

I just really hope that Leon's story is a decent length. It looks like the best one by far for an actual horror vibe. I just don't know how long they could possibly make each individual campaign if they're making 3 :\

Will be disappointed if this isn't a launch window Wii U game. I would normally just pick it up on the PS3 but I played RE4 on the GameCube and again on the Wii. Leon and Ashley in an RE game that isn't on my Nintendo platform of choice would be a bummer. I wouldn't be shocked if it is announced at a later date.

It's probably gonna be a separate 60 dollar game. 😞

I don't get why people act as if RE5 was the source of all of this. RE:CV story-wise was even worse than RE5. However, gameplay wise it was better received.

I admit that Leon's scenes in the trailer appear to be somewhat more humble than Chris' scenes. It is almost like they're keeping Leon in the RE2/RE4 universe, and letting Chris have his fun with all the crazy-shit-is-going-on-explosions-take-my-hand-hurry. Optimally they'll ship this on two discs so I can simply play Leon's chapter and never touch that goddamned Chris-disc.

and that voice is sooo ashley

The voice sounds close enough but it does sound slightly different. Kinda like the VA sucked in a little helium before speaking, JMO. Voice sounds like Ashley but it could be Sherry. I don't really care because either one could be interesting. I think Slant Six and IGN are on about equal standing when it comes to reliability. I figure we'll find more out come E3.

The president and Leon seem to be friends, I imagine he wouldn't make jokes about having to kill him because he became a zombie.

But I do hope we have some other antagonists that Leon can play off of. Most of his humor comes from his conversations with Saddler or that creepy elf guy.

I hope they can find back to the fun campiness, RE5 went all serious and was worse off for it. :/

leon aimed his lightning gun and zapped the zombie president, leaving the poor undead commander in chief crackling with electricity

"looks like you need to chill out"

Now I come to realize that the new enemy 'Juvo' has multiple eyes just like the spider. And since the title presented with spider web. I guess this thing would play a big role here. Maybe some sort of virus carrier (like ant in Code Veronica).

So like, all of these agents are immune to all the viruses, right? That's why they take them on in horribly mismatched melee brawls without any concern of getting infected?

i agree except for the roundhouse kicking zombies is a bit ridiculous.
Dude, it's a video game about zombies. Suspend your disbelief for a moment, and just pretend that special trained agents have martial arts training. It's not like any ridiculous stuff happened in the old RE games.

I'm not afraid to admit that I loved the scene in the original Dawn of the Dead where the black guy ran through the mall punching zombies in the face.

Leon roundhouse kicks things. That's what he does. It's not ridiculous, it's Leon S. Fucking Kennedy

Resident Evil is much better for his mind-blowing moves
