Yes, if you set a game in one country, one of the heroes must be from that country. Of course. It only makes sense.

All we know so far is that there is three stories and that Chris and Leon will meet up at some point.
It's not said the stories run at the exact same time, or that the stories hve matching time frames.
It's stupid to throw out fan favorite characters just to have a character from another country, this is probably the idea that created Sheva who was just as bad as Ashley.
Granted I would still much prefer Ada or Ashley at any point in 6.

Leon needs to have his face melted off again. Also, if Chris loses to Javos, there should be a cutscene where Jill's eating at a Chinese food restaurant and she goes, "Hmm, this food tastes familiar... It tastes like... Nah, couldn't be." As the camera zooms in on the Chinese food three times.
More like serving white entitlement. God forbid that in a city and country that is populated by mostly Asians, one of the lead or at least supporting characters is actually an asian girl/guy. And this is amongst 6 lead/supporting characters. But according to you, it's only natural that all 6 leads/supporting being white. Not even one of them could be of a different race.
Would it hurt Capcom to diversify their lead characters a bit?
Millions of people love these characters, Chris and Leon are huge fan favorites. Why should they drop them when so many people want these characters in the game?
Or maybe, just maybe, it's the fact that the military squad is from another, non-Asian country and is intervening on the Asian country's behalf.
Goddammit why don't I see more Arabic people in U.S. military patrols when I watch news about Iraq. Goddamn white entitlement.

I didn't say they should drop them, did I? But they present 6. Count them: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 leads/supporting characters. And yet, NONE of them is of any race other than white. Why is it not okay to complain that in a city like Hong Kong, Chris can't partnered up with a local police/BSAA agent?
And why is the agent that is suppose to follow the bald guy is Ashley? Ashley, the president daughter instead of some agent who actually have training. Are we going to argue about plot construction here when in fact, inclusion of colored character can be easily argued for in this case?
WOW. Yes, yes, because Asian country don't have their own arm forces who can work together with agents from other countries. Talk about white superiority attitude.
Is there still a rumor of Ada in the game? I heard that somewhere

Hopefully Sheva, Josh, Ada Wong, and Luis will save the day in a bonus chapter after you finish all the other segments.
Chris has an entire squad with him, are you sure that everyone of them are white?
lets not forget that both Josh (actually black and awesome) and Sheva (yeah) were parentered up. I don't see why there is any reason to believe no racial diversity wouldn't be present in RE6.
Yeah, um, I'm kind of aware other countries have militaries. But maybe Chris' squad is from America, and they're doing their own thing while the Chinese troops are doing theirs. It's really not that hard to imagine how this story is the way it is without being, y'know, racist. Said another way: It's batshit crazy to think this game is racist.
Would it kill Capcom to make one of those non-whites a lead/main supporting characters? Instead of the tens of red-shirts that'd undoubtedly get killed in the crossfire.
And yes, RE5 present Sheeva but looked at how some people here even complained that she was shoe-horned. What kind of argument is that? Why would an African BSAA agent does not present in her own country? To me her inclusion makes a lot of sense.
Did you even read what I said?! Amongst 6 lead characters, Capcom couldn't get it through their thick head that maybe, just maybe it'd be nice to have an important character that is of different race other than white. The inclusion of a character can be reasoned by plot that Capcom cooks up. But for some reason, they just don't want to include a colored character. I'm not calling it racist but at the very least it's an ignorance.
Hey I wouldn't mind having Chris's partner be Hong Kong at all. I only get annoyoed when people jwant things throw out when millions love it simply for the sake of diversity.
As far as new characters? I would be cool with all three new characters to be all different racies or walks of life so long as I get my Leon and Chris.
There was nothing shoehorned about Sheva's presence. She had tons of dialogue and was clearly a part of the plot from the start. That being said, this concept that any country the characters visit have to have playable representation in their ranks is weird and headache-inducing. Especially what appears to be a hastily-arranged BSAA mission where you're sent in with the men you always work with to do a job in another country and that's it.
It's just a skin color. The more we keep acting like skin color means anything, the longer people continue to imagine they're different in the first place. People just shouldn't give a shit about this stuff.
EDIT: Chris' partner is SO totally Ryan Seacrest.
DOUBLE EDIT: He also doesn't wear a helmet, so yeah, he's the man.
Diversity is not just the sake of it. It's a reality. Different races live in different countries together. It's about time video game reflects that reality and stop just presenting white leads 24/7.

BS. It's easy to say when your race is the dominant, most represented race in the media. Color means something because it means your race is being represented and acknowledged. That it's just not some tokenism that is only used from time to time when it's convenient.
Yes, but that doesn't mean a company should throw out move aside beloved characters just for it, Divisity is something that is good, even I want supported but not at the cost at what has come before simply so another group of people can have a character with a different skin color.
Or at least I don't care to support it. I want Chris and Leon, others want Chris and Leon, and that is why Capcom is pushing Chris and Leon.
So I don't mind if there is none so long as I get Chris and Leon, and I don't care if that makes me selfish.
No, I've never been sent into another country during a crisis situation involving zombies. Look: You're being upset over nothing. Just give the game the benefit of the doubt that it makes sense this particular crew is doing what they're doing in China. It looks like they get whisked off to East Europe later anyway (the Chris behind cover scene, tank scene, etc). NOT THAT A CHINESE MAN COULDN'T FOLLOW THEM THERE, mind you, but I really think this is simply a case where the two leads in Chris' campaign are the way they are because they're both from America, they have a shared background there, and the "perfect strangers" shtick of RE5 isn't what they're going for this time around, rather opting for the captain/soldier relationship, which generally comes with the territory of people from the same army as you.

Exactly. Her role in the series so far is either being a seductress/double-crosser/conniving henchwoman. It'd be nice to see her in a lead role for once.
Nobody needs to throw out or move aside popular characters. The inclusion of new white characters + ashley graham as leads will make people wonder, though.
I did say before that post that I would mind and would prefer Ada being in and other new characters of different races in.
I only reponded that way because I'm done with this. If I get and awesome characters out of this then SWEET. If not, I still got Chris and Leon and that is good enough, to me.
I supported Sexual Diversity in both Mass Effect and Dragon Age as well as have loved to see thigns other then white males taking lead in games.

He does seem older, maybe not as much as I first thought, but still he is getting older. Leon has a bigger jump but still they are slowly working themselves in to the Old Badass level stuff.
Exactly. 6 leads on one game. 2 of them white, it's not a biggie. 3, sure, why not? Let's put old favorites like Jill. 4? Pushing it but put Claire while we're on it. But 5 and 6? Seriously? And they are new characters to boot and Ashley! Yeah this doesn't look like ignorance.

I don't see how Leon looks more like a North American man in Resident Evil 6 than he did in Resident Evil 4. Maybe he looks more like certain leading role American film actors. And what do you mean by metro? I guess Chris didn't look enough like a WWE wrestler in the original Resident Evil.
Where are the Jews, the Muslims? Why don't any of the characters have facial hair? What do they have against red-heads? Why aren't any of the characters wearing glasses? Why do all the main characters look so good? Why aren't any of them overweight? And while we're at it, why's there only one gay character? Do they think Leon's enough? What about lesbians? Hmm?

Chris and Leon in both RE1 and RE4 where very pretty males, with nice hair and nice skin. The more defined jaw line and facial hair brings them in line with the more "Normal" picture of an american male.
Most men are going a very diffcult time being able to look like someone like Leon without working very hard to have such nice skin and hair, let alone being able to hold that kinda look in a life and death situation with hundreds trying to kill him.
Chris and Wesker would have worked much better given how obsessed with each other they are.
Speaking like a true ignoramus. Yes, it'd be nice to have those traits represented once in a while in a game. I certainly won't hurt to have your supporting characters to be anything but white. But it's okay, continue to act like you're not being ignorant and dismissive about someone else of different race/sexuality/religion wanting their particular race/sexuality/religion to be represented in the media once in a while.

Why do you need that, man? It's a nice thing to encourage an accurate representation of ethnic ratios but you're outright bitching about this. A team of 6 Americans can end up being all white. It happens all the time. Go ahead and make this argument if all the soldiers and zombies are white, but it's just a coincidence as it is now.

Without outright bitching, nothing will ever change. This game and its current cast is the reality and nothing will ever change unless someone speak up about it.
Nobody's against inclusion. Most of us, non-whites included, just don't give a shit if the cast is all white. It could be all black or all hispanic or all Asian or whatever and that would be fine too. It would elicit some humorous chuckles given it would be an out-of-nowhere sort of change, given the story up to this point. But utlimately it would be fine. Who gives a shit? Let's cap some zombies, ol' sport.

I actually think they should make Chris gay. I don't recall him showing any romantic interest in any of his female partners, and I think it would be cool to have a gay main character that doesn't fall into the usual tropes.
Only after Chris breaks up with Wesker because he was being an asshole.
Chris clearly cares deeply for Jill, but I've never really been able to buy into the fact that he has romantic feelings for her, or Sheva for that matter.
I mean at this point if they said that indeed Chris was gay then I wouldn't bat an eye. Though I wonder if Capcom would take heat for it because of the whole stereotype thing with Gay men being body builders.

I didn't say they can't or shouldn't be or that it makes any more or less sense for them to be white. You totally dodged my question, so now I will triple it.
1) How is it not racist to be demanding that people like you be in the game?
2) Why does it matter what ethnicity they are if the way their team was assembled makes sense to common ratios and likelihoods in reality and context of where the major players of this story came from? (Please, no circular reasoning like "it just does")
3) Capcom has included many ethnicities through the series. Why accuse them of this all of the sudden? Why would they suddenly be white supremacist?

Well, I meant more personality wise. Though Chris' RE5 makeover definitely boosted his stature in the gay gamer community, and I'm certainly not complaining.
