So excited... Praying that it's cheaper to pre-order when it's available on Amazon or ShopTo.

Hopefully playing on the NA Beta servers from EU won't be a problem too.

Edit: £10 cheaper for NA... le sigh

For anyone who played the K-Tera if you could answer my questions it would be appreciated.

How often is content added to the game?

What do you feel are the games weakness? I've heard its not been very popular in Korea was curious if it was because of some very big over glaring flaw.

What the leveling system like quest based? Grinding? 5 man raiding?

This is more of a general question for anyone but steam release?

It won't be. People play on Korean servers from Europe just fine, and En Masse has stated that no IP block is in effect for Europeans.

How do they charge on the digital pre-order? Charge on the day of release or the time of pre-order?
I pre-ordered from them yesterday and they have yet to charge my card.

1.) There is a medium sized patch every month or so which typically adds a new instance or some other form of significant content. Every three months there has been a free "mini-expansion" which bumped up the level cap or added new landmass and instances. This month's patch is raising the level cap and adding three new instances, as well as a new zone.

2.) Not enough grinding? At least, that's what I hear from most Koreans I play with. It's still the 9th/10th (depending on site used to track players) most played game in Korea, and gaining subscribers instead of bleeding them, so I'd say that's not terrible. For me it's mostly minor annoyances. Dungeon finder dumping you outside of the instance after you finish instead of where you queued, not being able to drag/drop in AH, some other small stuff.

3.) All of the above. You get the choice of doing what you want, really. Tons of quests, more than enough to quest all the way up if that's your thing. If you like grinding, there are tons of repeatable quests that you can do for medals used to barter for very decent gear. I like to be overlevel for stuff so I find myself clearing a hub and then doing a couple repeatables to put me ahead of the curve. Five man dungeons every ten levels (starting at level 20) to cap, each of which are viable for a good 4-5 levels if you grind them out.

4.) Highly unlikely.

looks like I'll be throwing down a pre-order soon.. got a friend who really wants to check it out, too.. so he'll be happy to hear that pre-orders get access to all 5 closed beta events..

I looking forward to this game, it seems like a nice change from what I saw!
A question though, since the first post specifically mentions NA in the beta schedule, is it known yet if a EU pre-order will also allows access to the closed beta events? I looked around and couldn't find any info regarding that so I'm curious.

I believe you can buy a pass for 4.95£ which includes beta access and can be applied to your product purchase at a later date. Considering that En Masse and Frogster are working closely together on this, their clients will also likely include beta access.

I'm currently at work and having trouble getting around the IP redirect on my iPhone so I will not be able to post European pricing and other information until later today.

Hope Amazon updates their page soon. I kind of want to try preordering a copy from Amazon and one from En Masse's store, and give the Beta from Amazon to a friend.

Tera will be available for pre-order on ShopTo tomorrow sometime.. just thought I'd share.

Probably just gonna pre-order the NA version though if my internet holds up playing from EU. From what I've gathered most people here will be playing the NA version anyway.

can't wait. I especially like the reserve your name early thing. But I would have really liked an authenticator instead of a compass. Really who needs a compass? At least an authenticator would have helped with account security.

It seems like En Masse has something similar to Steam Guard for account protection (unknown machines will require an activation code from your e-mail address). I'm not sure if this will be integrated into the client or not but it would make sense.

What's TERA's character customisation like? Do you get talents (several trees)/allocated stats etc.

I don't like MMOs where you feel like you gain nothing when you level.

I don't like MMOs where you feel like you gain nothing when you level.

You have glyphs that are used to enhance your abilities and attacks.

Such as reduce charge time, increase crit chance or proc a new effect.

Each glyph costs points and you have a limited amount of points. So, you can super charge a couple attacks or spread out to a bunch of abilities.

Edit - forgot about crystals

Glyphs are only for specific abilities whereas crystals are general purpose.

Like increase maximum health, increase damage or increase crit chance.

Weapons and armor have sockets for crystals.

Stat increases are gained with each level and are allocated automatically. There are skills, spells, and abilities learned as you level up but they are all locked to the selected player class so there are no branching skill trees or cross-class ability mixing. You can customize your character's equipment and weapons using enchanting and enhancing. I'll be posting some information about that soon, hopefully.

I got a beta key but the email says it's for a sneak-peek event this weekend.
According to the beta schedule it begins a week later.

When Amazon updates their page with beta access, you could pre-order from them since you can cancel whenever before shipping.

That's exactly what I'm waiting on. Hope the update soon. I played a bit on the Korean version and I had a lot of fun with it. It will be very nice to have English text.

Alright thanks for the info, I will look out for these passes then, will they be sold at the En Masse Store?
And depending on the state of beta access I might even go with pre-ordering the US version then since none of my friends seem to be interested in Tera sadly and most people here seem to go with the US version too and it would be nice to have a community around.

I believe they're also enforcing an IP block for the Asia region on the NA servers.

Yes.

"En Masse will block IPs based on region. Asia, Africa, Russia, and the Middle East are included on the block list. While we appreciate that there are players in these regions who would enjoy playing on En Masse servers, it's unfortunate that the vast majority of Internet traffic we see from these regions are from cyber-criminals relating to account theft, gold-farming and other hacking behavior."

Translation: We don't have a good staff or support system to combat RMT/bots. Let's just IP ban the majority of the world and help this offsets our weaknesses.

I'll give SWTOR credit here. I was expecting a lot of rmt and account phishing attempts. I've only received one via ingame mail and have seen zero offers in chat channels.

Whoa. This is that game I see pop up in the "Hi Res" screenshot thread from time to time that I'm constantly blown away by. /signed up

Can anyone point me to a good video of this that shows off the engine etc.? Thanks.

Race and Class information has been added.

Curses! I knew I should have reserved a third page. I may have to trim some fat from the OP when I start adding new information.

i wonder how much they censored it...are they going for a T or M rating for the NA version?
Only Elins, and as I've stated before, that will be patched out by fans.

It's definitely still rated M. There's no way they could've made a T without removing entire dungeons from the game.

I got an e-mail from them stating that they are IP blocking those regions. I think we should do something to get them to change their mind. TERA is the only game that I have tried to play where they have this silly IP blocks which keep people from playing. They do it in Japan and Korea and now in North America. It's crazy. The SWTOR guys said specifically that they wouldn't be doing that, and they kept their word. En Masse said they wouldn't be doing that, and at the end of the day they are. It's really pissing me off, because I play the Japanese version, but there aren't enough English players to get anything done and I can't read Japanese well enough to really enjoy the game.

I think I'm gonna run a story on this or something. Maybe if enough players get upset about it they'll reconsider.

Thanks for the thread, lots of good infos.

Game was on my radar since a while already but I gave in to the pre-order (only the headstart + beta mini right now, want to check out the game first), really liking the options !

It would be better if it was signed by Bluehole but that's still awesome. :D

There are some official trailers in the media section of the OP and if you search YouTube you can find lots of footage from the Korean release. I think Steparu's channel has a lot of good quality HD videos. I will be adding some beta videos and recording some footage of my own when the beta starts. I'm hoping to record and post some character creation, gameplay, and other videos.

M, I guess. You'll still see females running around showing more skin than armor, I believe it's just the Elin race that got some censoring.

NA version is rated M. The EU version is rated PEGI 12 (PEGI 16 and PEGI 18 are above this rating). ._.

A passionate embrace, a beautiful memory lingers.
I've heard of changes that happened on the Korean version that broke the game. Something about players being able to 2-shot other players due to weapon changes. Anyone know what this is about? Or is this all bullshit?

EDIT: keys gone

I whish they would announce a release date for Guild Wars 2,Tera could fit nicely in between SWtOR and Guild Wars 2 if that game came out like in October...might try the beta anyway.

Thanks, got a key aswell. Though I cant seem to download the patch after installing the game. Download progress is stuck on 0% even though it shows a download speed? Is anyone else patching the game right now?

Edit : Nevermind I'm on 1% now, looks like it's just a huge file, over 30GB...
