Please. That R&W McLaren is nothing compared to the silver one we actually have. I know everyone has their own tastes, but I can't understand what could even make someone think that is better.

I think you're just jealous Webber has had action with Paris Hilton - plus most likely every fit woman under the sun.

Completely forgot about the lotus, even though I mentioned it two lines above it! The lotus is somewhere between the Ferrari and Mac, but still a lot closer to the Ferrari. The FI and the Gatorham are terrible and should be immediately banned from racing anywhere.

Sidepods look tiny. So it's a tightly-packaged ugly, which is a step up from just plain ugly, right?

Any moderately-talented secondary school design or art student could do a better job with the livery, it looks astoundingly amateur in these shots.

EDIT: slightly better in the studio shots, where a little more fine detail can be seen...but still. Horribly uninspired.

I like the idea of white and red, but it would definitely need to be tweaked from the very basic POC of that 'chop mclaren posted.


PS. Oh, Sauber. Another added to the list. The black parts look like they're actually hidden, taped-up parts of a prototype that will soon be revealed. Hopefully to be not as ugly as that shit.

9-7 to Perez in qualifying, 9-5 to Kobayashi in race conditions, with 3 retirements each and a non-start for Perez is hardly Webber/Vettel territory. If Kobayashi's as good as people think he is; he should be trouncing Perez, but he's not. He's vastly overrated, just because he pulled off a few impressive overtakes early on in his F1 career.

Trying to find out who his source is, in case there's any truth behind it....

Chances are mclaren have screwed up, they usually do. But they will get it working about 6 races into the season when its already too late.

Hopfully a team paints thier nose to look an actual duck, yellow with a few eyes - it wouldnt be hard.
Any team that do that would get my full support forever, even if its HRT!

There's noway in any case that the McLaren will outperform the other teams because of the nose. I'm actually thinking the other way around. McLaren has used a more conventional approach than the others teams, and why would the other teams change its nose if not for more aerodynamic gains? (i know, the rules)

In my opinion and waiting for the RedBull unveil, the duck nose has to give more benefits than the more traditional one that McLaren will use.

I don't think McLaren will have a big problem.

They simply have a different concept than the competitors, and it was the same in this regard last season (and it worked very well for them). The front of their car is lower than the front of the other cars. That's why the get away with this nose in my opinion.

The other teams have a higher cockpit (like last season, too) and they have to use this bump.
