We've played the demo (it was on my local gamestop unit at least) and what Japanese reviews I saw in this thread were postive with load times being a problem. Artstyle looks great, interesting gravity mechanics, open world, CATS... whats not to love!

WipEout is the one with load time issues. Gravity Rush's problem seems to come from the difficulty which IIRC both Dengeki and Famitsu mentioned. They also didn't feel using the touch screen to dodge was very good.

Well, the 4GB Vita card, IMO, is useless, because you can fit all but one and a half Vita games on it.

Other than that, you're right -- it's not a terrible deal, but I'd advise everyone to get at least an 8GB at launch.

What if you're planning on just using it for saves? It's hardly useless for that.

I kinda agree with this, I mean I'll probably get used to it but...

Too hard? I'm fine with that, just hope it isn't too easy.

You should plan for the future. If there's a sweet Steam-esque deal on the PSN for both full Vita and PSN-Vita games, you'll be kicking yourself if you can't even fit one of them on your 4GB card. Also, most DLC should fit on the game's reserved space, but according to Sony, there will be some that will need your memory.

Just sayin' -- you'll end up buying another card eventually.

fixed.

Im getting the FEB....not the best deal but really want this like yesterday. ill make do with a 4gb as im only planning on getting 2 games for a little while and this already put me way over my gaming budget

Does it matter really when you can backup and restore all your files at anytime you need space?

I thought load time were listed as a problem in gravity rush too. I'm might be mistaken. I thought they were annoying when I was playing in gamestop. Not terrible but longer then I liked. Certainly not the upgrade I wanted going from UMDs to carts but I'm sure there are plenty of bottlenecks I don't understand

My main problem was the gyro aiming. I want to invert it but not invert the normal camera controls. I hope its possible, someone in another thread said it was but I don't remember see the option.

Perhaps, but I think I can put it off for long enough that card prices are much cheaper. I'm thinking multiple years.

Well, of course I'm going to end up buying another card in the future but I'll wait for discounts/new revisions.

If I was going to go all digital, I honestly don't think the 32gb card is enough. If a 64gb card gets released for $99 in a year, then I'll reconsider my stance. Otherwise, I don't think the 4gb will be much of an issue.

If I see a Steam-esque sale in the meantime, I might buy and wait for a larger card. I'd be shocked if they never release anything beyond the 32gb. My issue is more with capacity than price.

What is it that makes 32bit Snow Boarding games so appealing? My personal fav is Steep Slope Sliders for Saturn.

I think I was burned out on the genre by the time the PS2 generation came around. Between 3 coolboarders and 1080 (I think thats the name) on the 64 I was spent.

Plus all the cool kids moved on to Downhill Domination on the PS2. Downhill biking is the future! That and War of the Monsters better be next for the Starhawk team ::shakes fist::

Barring those who purchase the FEB, the difference between the 4GB and 8GB is ten bucks. Even if you're just using it for saves, we're not 100% sure that some game will have an epic Metal Gear Solid 3-esque "install" that needs your internal memory.

But I hope I'm wrong and you don't need more than 4GB.

My issue is more with capacity than price.

Agreed completely. I'm pretty nervous, because at launch, I have around 16GB of PSP games and 8GB of PSone Classics to port over (provided that capability works).

I'm getting the 16GB card, but the fact that I have to micro-manage my downloads day one kind of sucks.

I'd be all about a 64GB card for $100.

I can't believe I overlooked this, but according to the Playstation Blog (in the US) the First Edition Bundle will include everything the 3G/Wifi bundle will (except the 8GB stick).

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/01/27/special-launch-day-ps-vita-3gwi-fi-bundle-announced/

...in addition to the PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi hardware, a limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and Little Deviants game, we will now be including an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB data session (a $14.99 value) upon purchase of one 250 MB data session, and a PlayStation Network game – both provided upon 3G activation on the AT&T mobile broadband network. And the best part, you still get it a week before the official launch date.

That's good to hear!

Yeah, the 4 gig is a really short sighted purchase.

I feel bad buying the 8 gig, seeing it will only fit half of Uncharted...

Uncharted is 2.7 gigs I believe. There isn't one game that has gone over the 4 gig mark. I think Blazblue comes close.

Does the Vita have the PS3 issue where you need double to space to download and install?

I don't think so. That's a good question though. I think it was confirmed that the installs are handled differently.

Turns out a PlayStation Vita truck is coming to my office and they are giving away two free PS Vita's to two people who score the fastest lap on Wipeout 2048!

They have a demo unit in our break out area at work so it's safe to say I am going to be practising a bit on my breaks. :D

There's a Vita Truck? Where do you work?

If this happens, you'll still be able to buy the games and just not load them up right away.

Also, my FEB will work for now with the 4GB card as I fully intend to buy a larger card later. If 3rd party cards surface in the coming months, all the better.

I am purchasing the FEB and an 8gb card along with the physical versions of UMVC, Wipeout, and Lumines. I only have 2 games on psn which are P3P and Tactic Ogre. So 8gb will last me for awhile, but in the future if the 32gb card goes down in price I will pick one up eventually.

Apologies if I've missed it at some point, but have Sony released any info on the 3g pricing structure for UK yet? Couldn't see anything in the OP and this would surely be essential info when deciding if you wanted to pay the extra for 3g?

That sounds awesome! Wipe out the competition my friend.
See that clever pun I used there.

FEB is not a bad deal.

FEB:
$350
+$60 (16Gb card)
- $10 (sell 4GB)
- $25 (sell case)
- $20 (sell Little Deviants)
= $355 (with one month att and psn game)

WIFI:
$250
+ $60 (16GB)
= $310

So $44 difference to own 3g unit with psn game and get a week early. Am I missing anything?

+$15 to get the 'free' PSN game.

I remember when they put Steam sort of on ps3 with Portal 2.

I had such hopes... Such hopes that they'd learn something.

Damn, Amazon DE is running a nice promotion (same as UK, but less costly in EUR):

PSVita Wi-Fi
8GB Card
Pre-order box - headset + something
15EUR off on one game (I think all launch games are applicable)

TOTAL: 273,95EUR

TEMPTED LIKE HELL!!!

What's the Monster Hunter situation for the Vita? I mostly only want one to play MH and some other games in between.

I know there's supposed to be some upscale of a PSP one, but I'm not sure on the number, since I've missed the last few.

Also I'm interested to know the region restrictions, particularly regarding online play and the store. Can I use 2 different country stores like on the PS3? Or am I stuck with just the one. I'm thinking about importing from the US, since the local price of a really crappy bundle (4GB card, Mod Nation Racers) is about $440 in my country.

Edit: Also if someone knows the box dimensions and weight it would be great.

Must have been mentioned before, but this guys YouTube channel has some real interesting Vita videos in HD and a real sweet sidekick too... :D

Check it out if you wanna see some vids, 25 in total, concerning most major titles such as Gravity Rush, WipeOut, Uncharted, VT4 and more. I watched them all and I think most vids were really worth it.

4 gig does seem a little useless because of the PSN only games. I was considering the 4 gig to just be the gamefly user minimum but I forgot about super stardust. I'd probably go with 8 and I don't plan on buying any of the launch games.
