lol gtfo. There are plenty of players in the NBA who "preach team" and don't complain about their contract. A vast majority, actually. Only they are black.
There are plenty of guys like that.
There's only one asian-american hype machine that can move merchandise like crack across two continents though.

There are few but not as vocal. Then again, Jeremy Lin is only getting heard because the cameras are going towards him from the hype.
The MVP chants during the Lakers game were pretty hilarious. I'm still on this Lin bandwagon though, its fun.

Doesn't really matter why, because NBA GAF has come in with their smug attitude, hilarious GIFs, snarky replies, and is just turning this into another sports megathread-style topic, where keyboard jockeys school us plebes on the intricacies of sports strategy and business.
Tebow and Lin have nothing in common. Tebow was drafted well ahead of where he should've been taken because of his name alone. Lin was largely ignored because of it. Tebow was never a skilled player and had plenty of other extremely talented players to fall back on during his college career. Lin was the driving force behind his undermanned college team. Tebow was given a shot when he didn't deserve it. Lin got screwed repeatedly until he landed on a team that essentially had nothing to lose by throwing him out there - the Knicks were going to cut him.
thats a pretty broad brush you got there... but i can't say that the NBA didn't deserve this kind of sentiment after the lockout.

How do we know he's average? Look at what he's done so far. Maybe he is a great.
There's plenty of great young talent in the NBA now. They just don't have a massive asian following going and didn't come out of the D-league. People already knew they were good.

He's probably somewhere in-between. I think he'll settle into being a rotation guard. Not sure if he has the shooting or defense to be a consistent starter on a great team.

Except it wasn't just one good game. He has scored at least 20 points or more with at least 7 assists per game the last 5 games. Even though he played badly today, he had 20 points with 8 assists.
