They are. I just did. You can't download on a Vita but on PS3 you can.

This makes me really angry that I did not download those welcome back games when I had the chance.

Wait... do I still have the chance?

Missed out on the Uncharted "deal"/misprice due to Sony's insistence on releasing a new firmware update every 5 minutes. Cheering myself up by downloading some Vita demos in preparation for tomorrow.

The Last Guy is a PS3/PSN only game, iirc. You can't transfer anything you want. Only PSP, minis, and eventually PSOne classics.

AH ok that sucks.

BTW - in regards to memory cards. i currently have a 4GB. if i buy a 32GB can i transfer all the information across to the 32GB from the 4GB? if so how does this work? i just dont want to keep switching cards every time i play a game which has save files on the smaller mem card.

Is it just me or does the apps run at a higher res than the bubble menu?
Nah, bubble menu is native res. The issue is that they did not apply anti-aliasing to those bubbles. Hopefully they improve that in the future as it would be a pretty trivial addition, I'd think.

Me to. I meant to but then I got distracted and totally forgot to do it. Oh well I got a bunch of Vita games to play now anyways.

Seems like such a weird omission, doesn't it? Come on Sony. Smooth those bubbles.

Ah I see, thanks. Kinda wired to see the apps so smooth but the bubbles so jagged. :p

Guy's I need help...

ever since I downloaded the new update when ever I turn on my vita I get prompted with "could not connect to the device" anyway to turn this off?

why is it doing this, does this happen to anyone else, how do I make it stop?

Are you completely turning off your Vita or just putting it into sleep mode?

The games i got from the welcome back offer was LBP and Modnation Racers. Are they playable on the VITA?

LBP yes. Modnation No.

It's quite sad that the only thing I'm bothered about right now is making sure my Vita doesn't have any faults or issues when it's delivered tomorrow, and that I can put its screen protector on properly without having air bubbles all over my screen. Then I can actually enjoy playing games on the thing!

This is OT but I'll post it here because I looked into this because of this and the other thread.

So, I did some research on 3G gaming. It's definitely not as smooth as having a great wi fi connection, but I feel that gaming over 3G is certainly doable, and while no matter what you'll still be at a disadvantage due to latency, if you can change the nat port types, you should be able to be competitive on most games. It'll also depend on where you are in relation to the towers and the coverage in your area. Fighting games will probably not happen anytime soon, but unless you're playing UT or very twitchy shooting games, they should be ok IMO.

Satellite Internet: 1000-2000 ms - makes gaming due to the huge delay that occurs from the time you move till the server actually receives the instructions
Dial-Up: 200-250 ms - Believe it or not, you can actually game "somewhat" over dial-up. Your biggest limitation is the lack of bandwidth, which causes the server to choke
3G Wireless: 100-150 ms - This is an acceptable range to game on, you may notice moments of lag but it's playable
4G Wireless: 45-125 ms - This is a much better latency where you won't notice much lag at all and should be almost on par with a high end Cable/DSL connection
Cable/DSL: 25-50 ms - This is ideal for minimum delay while gaming

Problem is you can't change the port types on AT&T 3G. I'm not sure about the other carriers.

I do have to wonder why Sony has chosen to not allow gaming over 3G, I would have to guess that carriers (AT&T) have something to do with it.

Remember folks: You all have two free PSP games if you purchased them when PSN got hacked! Use it wisely! ;)

Shit, i'm going to have to dive into that hideous download list (now containing more than 1,000 items)

Any idea when PSN came back up, so i know roughly where in my download list to look?

I really wish they fix the wallpaper image crop thing. Its so annoying. The beautiful images look like shit when I apply it as wallpaper.

It seems something in the world doesn't want me to have the Vita this week. :( Some unknown charges appeared on my debit card, leaving me with insufficient funds to process my WiFi/3G Vita. Can you believe that I'm short due to $2? 2 miserable dollars.

I notified the bank about the unknown charges and they will be completely removed in 2 to 4 business days.

There goes my launch day. 4 games, no Vita.

oh my. The tested 'bricked' challenge videos work just fine on Vita - downloaded the 'high' versions and copied across with content manager. Very nice :)

I must be the only one who got Asphalt Injection. If the iPhone games are any indication, this is going to be Ridge Racer with real cars and no DLC gouging.

Any owners of Virtua Tennis 4 want to trade for Rayman or Lumines?
Can't find one locally, and after playing the demo today, do fucking want immediately.

Finally took the plunge. Decided on the First Edition Bundle through Amazon. Will probably do either the Target B2G1 or Amazon B2G1 later. One day delivery isn't fast enough!

I'm trying to decide how big a memory card to get. Can Vita/PSP game downloads and save files be stored on the PS3 and transferred back and forth between a Vita? Is there a limit on how many times you can do this? I'd like to download games to my PS3 and transfer them to my Vita whenever I feel like playing them. Is this possible?

Thanks for your answer and I apologize if this has been answered a zillion times before.

Just wondering, are people here excited for just the Vita launch, or both the Nintendo Directs and Vita launch?

Tomorrow's going to be one of the best days of the year for me.

I think i just worked out how to back up my memory card onto the PS3 - im assuming then when the time comes i can copy all the existing saved files over from PS3 to new bigger Memory card?

Ouch, that is terrible news, man. I hope you get that sorted out soon. :(

Just looked back threw mine, it was in June last year.

I never logged on during the welcome back period, but I had made PS3 and PSP purchases before that went down. I've seen people say they are waiting for me, but is that true?

I think there was a time period where you had to claim your free games and content, you didn't necessarily had to download them. But that period is now gone, if you didn't do it then i'm afraid you can't anymore.

Another requirement that also applied was that you were only eligible to even claim those during that time period if you had at logged on to PSN at least once before or on a certain date.

"In June 2011, Sony launched a "Welcome Back" program following the outage, allowing all PSN subscribers who joined prior to April 20 to download two free PlayStation 3 titles and two free PlayStation portable games. Users also got 30 free days of PlayStation Plus, while users who were already subscribed before the outage got 60 free days."

Aren't these averages though in areas with solid coverage? The biggest issue with 3G/4G gaming is that if you're moving (like on the bus), anytime you hit a weak area your lag is going to spike like made or you'll even drop from the game. Its an uneven experience that is difficult to explain to most consumers.

Music streaming services are a little better here because they can cache songs so you don't immediately lose service when your connection drops in and out, but for gaming that won't work. You're going to feel every single connection drop and it will be incredibly frustrating.

I don't think its really viable to market mobile multiplayer gaming with the caveat that you stand still in the middle of good coverage.

Once you transfer games from your PS3 to Vita, the copy on the PS3 HDD will be deleted. I haven't checked the save file thing yet. Also for memory cards, always go the maximum size if you can afford it. I'm already regretting going for 16GB :(
